About the misprinted dice. Let Free League know, and they should send you replacements. If you paint over or use a sharpie over one of the 1s in the "11" on the die and make it a "1" that works too. Have fun. Great game.
Thank you. I'll probably just order a set from them since the Starter Set was given to me for review. Plus they have black and red dice that look pretty cool!
@@DravenSwiftbow I have the kickstarter version, which had this error on the D10s, a replacement set was sent out to recipients at virtually the same time as the kickstarter edition was received. The black set was a bolt on but were correct.
@@DravenSwiftbow or you also get the "Lifepaths" PDF which covers this misprint in a genius and funny way by making you "Favoured by the Grey Wizard". Means: a 1 on a D12 becomes a 11. In this case the misprinted dice become very useful. ;-)
Iv'e played the shire adventures of the 5e version and this version already has a nice and different lord-of-the-rings feeling to it. I can only imagine how a dedicated game system improves that even further!
Biggest difference is that 1E had variable Target Numbers (commonly TN14) whereas 2E uses the same TN for everything based on your hero's skill. Journeys are a lot better/straightforward in 2E. 1E had special gear for each Culture but 2E kind of has that too. Overall I love TOR over 5e. I'm glad you are giving it a try. I love that combat is so lethal and I never feel too over powered.
Thanks for reviewing this! I live in Halifax, just picked up The One Ring myself a few weeks ago. It looks fantastic!
That's awesome! I hope you enjoy. Did you get it at Monster Comics? I tried looking there last time I was in the city but didn't find anything.
@@DravenSwiftbow No, the didn't have it (only the french version). So I had to order it. HFX Games in Dartmouth however gets in Free League Products

It probably does since with the 5E version, certain rules need to be adapted to fit that system.
Long time no see. I think the last video I saw was about DnD 4. I am glad to see you covering The One Ring.
Thanks for checking back in!
Been running a 5th edition version game for almost a year. Its a solid overlay of 5e.
Really liked the covers for the old non 5e books
The One Ring 1e was great, I can only assume TOR 2e is even better!
I'm not familiar with 1E, but I have heard that it is an improvement over 1E from a couple of reviewers.

How does it compare to the old Iron Crown Rolemaster/MERP system and game feel?
Totally agree. Great stand-alone system for the archetypical fantasy setting. Great video...as usual.
Thank you!
The 5e versions are a pale shadow of the TOR versions. There's so much you can do to fit a square peg in a round hole.
You should stop right now and start reading Moria. It has insane, engaging, and fun solo rules.
I just may. I've been thinking of taking on solo play as a way to exercise my GM muscles.
I wonder how similar it is to their Strider rules, which was also for solo play.
@@DravenSwiftbow, it is similar but different. Take a look at a video with this title: "How to Play Moria Solo Mode for The One Ring RPG"
In a short campaign right now. I really love the system, although some 5e players may have a bit of trouble conceptualizing the combat.
I would still use minis since they help me with combat.
My inside of the Starter Box doesn't have the map ot DM's stats
Really? I wonder if that was an error, or just a change made to later printings?
