@Dreamonology I played this way in OG Cata to 2800. The hemo build does as much if not more dmg than bacstab + more combo points because less energy per attack. Only reason to dagger is playing bursty 2s its more dmg in the short term but any long fight hemo shreds. As well those axes from DS are bis, even beyond legendary dagger because of the hemo stuff I explained but as well the proc on them is insane. Even the raid finder versions will be bis over other options.

yep, playing with succubus can help a lot in maps with big hills like AB, EotS - where you can Whiplash enemies down the edges and then combined with your teleport, that can be a huge lifesaver
Mostly PvP, but PvE can definitely help, especially rogues, mages like to have PvE parts, there are trinkets from Firelands and Dragon Soul that improve performance of most classes, Gurthalak sword and ofc legendary staff and daggers

Interessting I agree with everything, but I played in original cata 2,9k 3s rated last patch of the expansion and I remember it only being good for the first patch and the rest it got stomped and was a struggle to play. Lack of mobility, lack of cc and not being able to apply preassure like resto druids and disc priest through ccs like cyclone, mana burn, fear, roots etc. Pala very easy to cc and keep cced due to the lack of mobility. I rate it bottom tier healer for pvp.
For 3v3 they are all a lot more even and especially on higher rates - those druids and priests will be able to use that toolkit a lot more while paladins don’t have such a high skill ceiling

@@hominyou7689 arena tier list already in the works, feral+disc is still definitely one of the best comps in 2v2 even now, I don't think I've seen anyone using that trinket in PvP, offense is usually the best defense on Cata, but it could be a viable and relatively easy to get option
When you were talking about rogue, you pointed out how demanding it is skill wise. Are dk's much more easier? Like is it easier to do well on a DK than a rogue if low skill? In terms of rbg's does it make more sense to have multiple dk's for grip, or more rogues? or just one of each filled with casters?
I would definitely say DK is easier in comparison to rogue, yes, and easier to get into for a beginner and still perform well...I would go for only 1 of each class for a BG group ideally, double grip would be nice but you have other classes, mostly casters that you'd prefer to have instead to actually do enough damage and AoE pressure

it's in Slovak ffs! 😅 yea I should remake it for English too, Eng is still my personal favorite, rocket boosts aren't usable in arena, they haven't been failing too much on me, so I am fine, and Tailoring is amazing as long as you can take advantage of the proc when it procs and you can track it with addons

Shadow priest very bad for 1v1 and 2v2, but rly good in certain comps in 3v3 and also great for Rated BGs, Goblin would be a great choice especially for the rocket jump giving you an extra mobility CD

2.8k UDK, 2.6k ret, 2.5k awarr is some of my experience, I am not saying you can’t get high rating with sp, but good luck trying to find a mage that will wanna play with sp instead of sub rogue for instance, and mage+sp is the only truly viable option for 2v2 for sp, other better specs have at least 2-3 such options
they don't do balance changes, all they did for wrath was add glyphs to ret/feral to make them more smooth to play in raids, they don't actually change core talents/abilities. They don't touch pvp.
I think it's debatable to put warlocks over either of the 2 mage specs in 3s and it's unquestionable that both of them are better than warlocks in 1v1 and 2s. Mages in 3s can be paired with literally any caster and make it work by letting melees afk half the game in roots with dispel cover. Or go with rogue or feral and have the most broken cchains you can have in the game.
yes, but having UA dispel protection is a big deal, none of the mages have that, mages are better in 1v1, but by too much, and better in 2v2 - maybe in the case of RM for frost mage, otherwise it's pretty equal IMO, but you could definitely make the argument for putting mage over warlock, especially if we're talking about the class as a whole - having 2 viable specs over just affliction
sub rogue best, feral druid second best, ret paladin third best - all these 3 are some of the best comps you could play in 2v2 on Cata overall so you won't go wrong with any of them

Could you explain why frost mage isnt in the top 5 ? Im curius about your opinion on it. I always figured rogue and mage to be top 2 pvp classes from at least videos i have seen. With all the CC etc mages have could you explain how a rogue beats a mage ? (Assuming they are equal skill and gear)
A rogue doesn’t have to beat a mage 1v1 (if that’s what you mean), we’re rating it across all pvp situations overall, rogues specifically have way more top arena compositions they can be played with, and frost mages aren’t very good for BGs (even fire will be the prefer spec to have in an RBG group), these would be some of the main reasons, but frost mage is still a very good spec in Cata and you could make an argument for it being in top 5 in terms of 1v1, 2v2, RM is always very strong, however, there’s hunters everywhere in Cata pvp and those counter frost mages pretty bad too
@@yuulian4776 it "can" do more damage, but you aren't getting that many procs, it works extremely well with rogues where you can time all your CDs and procs appropriately, but then you have downtimes with no pet freeze and no deep freeze where you can't rly do much
They both perform very similarly in any PvP bracket and usually compete with each other in PvE as well where priest will have to be able to use hid mass dispels properly while ele sham needs to interrupt with wind shear, think about whether you like more the DoT playstyle of priest or the chain lightning/lava burst and totem playstyle
Hello, one suggestion, Balance is really good in 3s and Bg's ( arguably best bg class) Insane cc on healer in 3s with root+solar beam combination, bash and cyclone spamming. I have also one question, what's your opinion about Enha shamans in general and 3s, 2s , Duels ? Best regards!
yep, balance would make it towards the end of my top 10 and is comparable to ele shaman and fire mage which also shine in 3v3 and BGs and aren't as good for 1v1 and 2v2...enh is a solid spec, not amazing but still able to get super-high in any bracket, it lacks defensives, that's it's biggest downfall, but a very good class for dueling, can play with ret pal or a healer in 2v2 and get rly high, and with a warrior or ret (+ healer) in 3v3 ideally...and it's also a solid PvE dps although raid groups will prefer other melee classes and casters most of the time
@@MEYTRIX Indeed. I'm an enh on Whitemane cataclysm private server. We hit hard. We hit fast. But a decent mage, frost or fire, can widdle us down rather easy.
nooo, definitely not OP, Windshear is nice but don't forget - it's not like any other interrupt where you'd get locked for many second, Wind Shear only locks you for like a second which isn't that big of a deal, and enh is extremely squishy, lacks defensives so any team with a rogue or good stunlock will be extremely problematic, so no OP IMO, but still a very solid spec for any kind of PvP

@@OlingPowerz comes down to the person, not hard at all for me to learn new classes up to 2k rating but I have played pretty much every single one on multiple expansions, rogue is definitely one of the hardest classes to learn for PvP so you will have to spend a lot of time getting used to it

There is literally nothing you could do to keep up with them, theyll keep you bleeding and your charge / heroic leap just isnt enough to stay on them with their roots, infected wounds, cyclone, and movement speed bonuses. I mained warrior in cata. And i'll tell you I'd rather go against a frost mage or even rogue than a feral ruid.@@MaiorCJ

You can tell a lot of this is spoken from a private server player. Which practically means nothing when only a couple thousand players exist on them, so rating in arena means virtually nothing. Didn’t watch past 4 mins bc the info is already just opinionated. Dks really aren’t that good. Great in 2s bc they’re squishy but it doesn’t matter as much, but get run over in 3s unless your team really peels for you when the time comes. Saying feral druid is the best flag carrier is cap af when warriors exist with heroic leap to get out of smoke bombs when the primary tank killers is a rogue/mage combo.
What do you want an opinion of a Cata retail player from 13 years ago when ppl could barely even play the game 😅 I must disagree with you - I am pretty sure Uh DK + H pal + MM Hunt won Cata Blizzcon even and DKs are more than amazing in 3s, having Heroic Leap on a 1 minute CD as warrior is almost useless, and ofc it’s a matter of opinion and experience, but I have experienced it over 10 years so it’s as good as it gets, thanks for sharing your opinion too!
I can tell your comment was from someone who never played cata pvp when it was on live servers… I was playing as a DK main in cataclysm live servers and I thought I was good at the game because I got into the high 2000’s rating in 3’s but it turns out DK’s were just one of the most overpowered classes in the game at the time. I tried 3 other classes and realized I was just playing an OP class and went back to it. Both dual wield frost and 2H unholy were insanely overpowered when it came to PvP, seems like you’re the only person on the internet trying to debate that.
Yep, good CC, as I mentioned - Gnaw, Strangulate, Leap, Death Grip, also snares via Chains and Desecration, not amazing CC like the other top classes mentioned, but definitely good enough
no man no, FROST MAGE n1 i bet any amount on it put r1 best mage vs any r1 hunter , watch that mage destroy that hunter in 15 seconds i witnessed it with my own eyes 11 years ago orginal cata times. The thing is basicly Mages mechanics are just one step ahead of every class when properly used in a pros hands have no rival.
a lot has changed in those 11 years, hunter specifically should completely destroy a mage, but - you can always prove me wrong in-game, I would love to watch a duel between top mage and hunter and see who comes out as the winner 😏
I am not saying mage just comes out as winner i am saying mage would finish duel with close to full hp in less then 20 seconds and hunter will have no chance. You will eventually see what i am talking about since cata will be more popular now max 1-2 years until the last patches of cata and see what top mages will be able to do. @@MEYTRIX

blizzard will like do some buffs or nerfs just like they did too Ret and Feral for wrath. I would look for Sub Rogue to be toned down a bit.

How do mortal strikes work in Cataclysm? In Wrath it's 50% from Mortal Strike and Aimed Shot. Is it still 50% in Cata?

Could you explain why frost mage isnt in the top 5 ? Im curius about your opinion on it. I always figured rogue and mage to be top 2 pvp classes from at least videos i have seen. With all the CC etc mages have could you explain how a rogue beats a mage ? (Assuming they are equal skill and gear)
A rogue doesn’t have to beat a mage 1v1 (if that’s what you mean), we’re rating it across all pvp situations overall, rogues specifically have way more top arena compositions they can be played with, and frost mages aren’t very good for BGs (even fire will be the prefer spec to have in an RBG group), these would be some of the main reasons, but frost mage is still a very good spec in Cata and you could make an argument for it being in top 5 in terms of 1v1, 2v2, RM is always very strong, however, there’s hunters everywhere in Cata pvp and those counter frost mages pretty bad too

Frost mages are really op, ice lance can do more dmg than frostbolt and you can one Shot most people if you have procs
@@yuulian4776 it "can" do more damage, but you aren't getting that many procs, it works extremely well with rogues where you can time all your CDs and procs appropriately, but then you have downtimes with no pet freeze and no deep freeze where you can't rly do much
Frost mages are BiS if you know how to play your class and maximize utility. This is just a RUclipsrs opinion, take it as a grain of salt

They both perform very similarly in any PvP bracket and usually compete with each other in PvE as well where priest will have to be able to use hid mass dispels properly while ele sham needs to interrupt with wind shear, think about whether you like more the DoT playstyle of priest or the chain lightning/lava burst and totem playstyle
Hello, one suggestion, Balance is really good in 3s and Bg's ( arguably best bg class)
Insane cc on healer in 3s with root+solar beam combination, bash and cyclone spamming.
I have also one question, what's your opinion about Enha shamans in general and 3s, 2s , Duels ?

yep, balance would make it towards the end of my top 10 and is comparable to ele shaman and fire mage which also shine in 3v3 and BGs and aren't as good for 1v1 and 2v2...enh is a solid spec, not amazing but still able to get super-high in any bracket, it lacks defensives, that's it's biggest downfall, but a very good class for dueling, can play with ret pal or a healer in 2v2 and get rly high, and with a warrior or ret (+ healer) in 3v3 ideally...and it's also a solid PvE dps although raid groups will prefer other melee classes and casters most of the time

Warriors are really op in cata but they require more skill than previous expansions.
I know for sure that ench shammys are super OP and with the windshear at 5 secs casters are crying 😂
nooo, definitely not OP, Windshear is nice but don't forget - it's not like any other interrupt where you'd get locked for many second, Wind Shear only locks you for like a second which isn't that big of a deal, and enh is extremely squishy, lacks defensives so any team with a rogue or good stunlock will be extremely problematic, so no OP IMO, but still a very solid spec for any kind of PvP

@@gpetugaming6957 fire overall best combination of both and best for PvE, frost amazing in PvP - especially 1v1 and 2v2, and few 3v3 comps, and arcane mostly inferior but can be fun for some casual games

@@OlingPowerz comes down to the person, not hard at all for me to learn new classes up to 2k rating but I have played pretty much every single one on multiple expansions, rogue is definitely one of the hardest classes to learn for PvP so you will have to spend a lot of time getting used to it

Druid is absolute crap, i can fight 3 at once not being under 50k hp with warrior, playing druid also was absolute pain trying to kill single animal
I don't think a good feral druid has ever lost to a warrior in a 1v1

There is literally nothing you could do to keep up with them, theyll keep you bleeding and your charge / heroic leap just isnt enough to stay on them with their roots, infected wounds, cyclone, and movement speed bonuses. I mained warrior in cata. And i'll tell you I'd rather go against a frost mage or even rogue than a feral ruid.@@MaiorCJ

You can tell a lot of this is spoken from a private server player. Which practically means nothing when only a couple thousand players exist on them, so rating in arena means virtually nothing. Didn’t watch past 4 mins bc the info is already just opinionated. Dks really aren’t that good. Great in 2s bc they’re squishy but it doesn’t matter as much, but get run over in 3s unless your team really peels for you when the time comes. Saying feral druid is the best flag carrier is cap af when warriors exist with heroic leap to get out of smoke bombs when the primary tank killers is a rogue/mage combo.
What do you want an opinion of a Cata retail player from 13 years ago when ppl could barely even play the game 😅 I must disagree with you - I am pretty sure Uh DK + H pal + MM Hunt won Cata Blizzcon even and DKs are more than amazing in 3s, having Heroic Leap on a 1 minute CD as warrior is almost useless, and ofc it’s a matter of opinion and experience, but I have experienced it over 10 years so it’s as good as it gets, thanks for sharing your opinion too!
I can tell your comment was from someone who never played cata pvp when it was on live servers… I was playing as a DK main in cataclysm live servers and I thought I was good at the game because I got into the high 2000’s rating in 3’s but it turns out DK’s were just one of the most overpowered classes in the game at the time. I tried 3 other classes and realized I was just playing an OP class and went back to it. Both dual wield frost and 2H unholy were insanely overpowered when it came to PvP, seems like you’re the only person on the internet trying to debate that.

Yep, good CC, as I mentioned - Gnaw, Strangulate, Leap, Death Grip, also snares via Chains and Desecration, not amazing CC like the other top classes mentioned, but definitely good enough

it's one of the more popular expansions for pvp and pve, challenging raids compared to wotlk or dog water TBC arena.
no man no, FROST MAGE n1 i bet any amount on it put r1 best mage vs any r1 hunter , watch that mage destroy that hunter in 15 seconds i witnessed it with my own eyes 11 years ago orginal cata times. The thing is basicly Mages mechanics are just one step ahead of every class when properly used in a pros hands have no rival.
a lot has changed in those 11 years, hunter specifically should completely destroy a mage, but - you can always prove me wrong in-game, I would love to watch a duel between top mage and hunter and see who comes out as the winner 😏
I am not saying mage just comes out as winner i am saying mage would finish duel with close to full hp in less then 20 seconds and hunter will have no chance. You will eventually see what i am talking about since cata will be more popular now max 1-2 years until the last patches of cata and see what top mages will be able to do. @@MEYTRIX
