I think western is cool but it is only a US thing and isn't in the Olympics so it is less popular around the world so that may be why not everyone includes it

I laughed cause I like to think we're able to make jokes still about our sport because we aren't insecure like some other athletes

Yes...u see that horse in my profile picture...that stallion could have been the story to the end of me. I got back on and was still accused of doing something that isn’t a sport. It’s IS a sport. My DAD still says it’s not a sport. Don’t give up.
I have learned to trust my horse with my life for one reason, I love her.

I just started equestrian riding I rode English and I don’t compete but I have a higher risk of having a detacthed retina if I fall but I feel since I don’t compete fingers crossed I don’t fall I love riding my horse I always feel like I’m flying

To that I was embarrassed not being able to jump after 8 yrs of riding starting at the age of two

It’s incredible, to have an animal that could so easily kill you become your friend, who you trust and who trusts you.
There’s an enormous amount of effort put into being an equestrian, but in my opinion it’s worth it (and my opinion probably doesn’t amount to much because as of yet I have sat on a horse ONCE 😅)
Keep doing what you love equestrians, and I hope one day to join you

This week was my equestrian camp. We all took part even though we knew the risk. We were galloping the horses. My horse takes a very sharp turn and I’m not prepared. I slide I fall and I now have a big graze on my hip. We know the risk but we don’t let fear become stronger than confidence and passion. Our scars make us stronger and our confidence drives us forward. We are Equestrians! 🤩🏇🐎 (Been sitting in my bed hurting for two days)

Erm are you insulting me? Everyone falls of horses, no one is perfect. Don’t just assume I or anyone is a bad rider. You may have more experience than me, you may have less, who knows. But I assure you, I wouldn’t be in all the top or second to top classes if I was a bad rider. ☹️

I know I'm 2 ys late but to those equestrians who face people saying it's not a sport don't listen to them they just think that because they see the easy side of it they don't see the hours of pain and dedication that goes through it. They don't see the falls and how we just get back up and keep going we are all behind you ❤

I haven't ridden in a few years because of a riding accident I had where my horse, Alexander spooked before a jump, tripped, and fell on top of me. Horseback riding truly takes grit and isn't easy!!
You can only do what a horse will let you.... people have no power over a horse.. that horse is very kind and very beautiful

People have kept saying "its not a sport" and that "its easy" to me, but watching this really helps me know that they just are underestimating me because they don't do equestrian.
People say it's not a sport And I agree ITS MY LIFE Just one mistake could risk it all!
Love this we do this cus we love our horses and we feel like we are nothing without our horse and when people say this isn’t a sport I think in my mind they are just scared of this sport
What to say to people when they say “horse back riding isn’t a sport”, say “neither is a bunch of men fighting over a ball but here we are”
I loved it, many people says its not a sports. But it is, they most of the time don't imagine how hard it can be
This is so true as a equestrian myself I have been told to find a new sport or the horse is doing all the work. In riding you have to remember all these Cues and still risk your life
One thing is that we don't ever let fear overcome us equines because I've always known the risk of riding but I've been living my dream my whole life and I know the danger of it but I don't let fear control me :)

Oh yeah, Its so hard when people tell me horse riding isnt hard. I feel like dying. My insides melt. Like Have they ever... Felt the pain of riding. I cant ignore it, bc its so HARD. I listen to xxtesticle everytime, someone tells me that horseriding isnt a sport

This is so true! People say its easy and I should just quit but if they saw my scars my horses throwing me off they would turn back and say sorry no sorry ain't enough u said it so deal with its, as an equestrian at the age of 14 I know I'm putting my life at risk and I'm like I don't care I get my happiness and joy outta it ty for making this video

As an equestrian, I commonly find these videos cringe or try-hard. They are usually full of bad editing and BASIC grammar mistakes that subtract from the viewer's attention and the overall quality of the video, not this one. I am very pleased to say this one gave me chills, especially at 0:42 and that jump, and 0:50 . Good Job!

Im riding irl and i understand how hard it is cos riding these creatures is risking ur own life.
I've never fallen off a horse but I am an equestrian... Even though I know that its not easy and you don't just sit their. We are the brain telling the horse what to do and the horse is the body doing the work ... So either way without one another, riding just wouldn't work .
( i've never even jumped 😅 ) but I do know this stuff

When someone says that horse back isn’t a sport cause all you do is sit there, every atom in my body wants to put them on my horse and tell them to jump a 3’ course and once (or if if they’re lucky) they fall off I’d say “why’d you fall of? The horse does all the work, All you have to do is sit there. Stay strong riders 😊

To people that loose confidence when you fall off,
It only makes you a better rider because you have learnt what mistake you have made. You need to brush it off and get back on and try again.

@@pastel_sso6958i would do the same to be honest. I would get back on to even just for a few seconds so i dont lose my confidence. Thats what my mum did by mistake. She fell of with a buck an she didn’t get back on and now she is to scared to get on a horse now. But she wants to overcome it
"Horse riding is a sports!" Its harder than anyone thinks... It takes strength. These horse have there own brain they can kill us or hurt is severely. Has anyone who isn't a equestrian even riden a horse or had that unbreakable bond? Have you ever fallen off a horses?!? Horse are amazing creaturers and they can be your best friend only if you become someone who will understand them feed them and take care of them. I have seen many horse uncared for and it was a very sad sight. So you see horse riding is extremely diffecalt

But also I think most people do a trail ride on a lead rope walking the whole time and that is what makes them say that, then they say yeah I have ridden and its sooooooo easy. -they dont get it

This is 100 % accurate. I rode horses before and I might do it this weekend but believe me, I had horses that are pretty hard to control! Btw, the horses weren’t mine. I was just on a 1 hour trail ride and yes, horse riding may seem easy, but it’s not. Get on a horse and try it if u disagree.
Jealously has a lot yo day about people putting down equine disciplines.
Mostly because they don't have the guts to get on a 1100 lb creature that thinks for its self. An experienced rider/horse is an athletic team. Hours of training & participating in perfecting the best results.
A lot to do about people ####
We are not riding bikes over sloped hills called jumps. We are riding huge, living, breathing animals with thoughts of their own over vertical jumps that can be taller than us, we are doing this in a few minutes, but each second is a risk to our life. We gallop a horse toward a barrel, we then proceed to get close enough to touch that barrel while we guide our horse around it, we do 3 barrels in less than 20 seconds. We need to bond with an animal that could kill us, all we have to aid us is our voice, our body, sometimes a whip and/or spurs for correction and clarification. The horse has a mind, each horse is different, you could have a perfect ride one day but have a terrible accident the next. Riding a horse is 10x harder than riding a bike. We can’t just sit there, in fact in a lot of sports you do less mentally. You do not have to think about every stride, you don’t have to look at the path ahead and think, should I ask my horse to extend, collect, is it a good distance, is there enough energy, is there enough time to adjust anything, how much leg do I need, is this fence too high, what if we get to close or go from too far and my horse gets injured. If we crash, there are two lives on the line. That is why horse riding is just as much about the rider as it the horse, it cannot be compared to any other sport. Horses are not machines even though together we make it look easy, it just means we are doing our jobs. This was just a rant and the video was amazing. Too many people overlook riding as a sport. We have to do more in 1 ride than most of them do in season.

and I say equestrian and they tell me that's not a sport that is easy that
we just sit there that it takes no skill,
but I ask them have you fallen from a 15 hand high animal with a mind of its own.
I just want to tell you that even if they pic on you just don't listen to them just follow your dreams and never give up.
