I must compliment you for trying to educate those, but brother if I was giving a class I would go more in-depth how can someone learn from anything that you taught
Where are you located at? I need my 07 rav4 transmission replace. I took to couple shop and all the mechanics just saying that even if they replace new trans they won’t guarantee it and start say that it can be computer not functioning Ecu all kinds of stuff.
Ok thanks! Yeah I bought the same u241 jdm transmission. And I was searching up it said these cars have a trans ecu lol. Cool just gonna plug and play then.
I failed to mention that in the video, the U250 doesn't have an oil cooler which the rav 4 models require and the U241 does. A much better fit from a jdm model.
@@20alphabet it's more than just the the oil cooler. The U241 is the newer version of the u250 almost the valve body plug has a different amount of pin count and the side cover also differs.
@@mikoworks9469 No, the U250 is the newer version ...the U241 the previous, isn't it? Anyway, I was wondering if the pin count wasn't different, as one has an extra gear.
Did you have to remove the subframe to take out the transmission?
hi is your rav4 still running good after the replacement of trans? is it better to replace auto trans or rebuild it? need advice thanks

Will a u241e to u250e swap work?

Bro it doesn’t need the trans ecu. I thought so to but it’s just plug and play swap over
Did u have to reprogram the transmission ecu? Or was it plug and play transmission
It was a plug and play. As long as you replace all the sensors and range switch make sure it lines up and it's all good to go.

Thank you for the fast response, really appreciate it brotha.
U need to fix the ecm first
As far as the ecm, I didn't need to do anything further, but it may differ on other models. This 1 specifically was all good on a base model 06 rav 4
How much does it cost to do something like this?
I was just quoted $6,300. That's why I'm here, trying to see if I can do it myself.
Why not go with the U250?
I failed to mention that in the video, the U250 doesn't have an oil cooler which the rav 4 models require and the U241 does. A much better fit from a jdm model.

So you're saying the automatic 5-speed version of the U241 doesn't have fluid lines to the radiator?

No, the U241 is the older, isn't it? The U250 has the extra gear, or did I read that wrong?
