Hi I have RAV4 XT4 but its fully loaded, I have a manual 2.2 diesel, even with the fitted bull bar, I LOVE IT.
really useful, i'm currently looking for a rav 4 (diesel), but in this new covid world it was helpful to view an old car so thoroughly, Cheers mate 👍

How's the fuel consumption on thr petrol model?
I agree about fewer gears is better. It stays in gear longer and doesn’t hunt for gears. Car manufacturers introduced a ludicrous number of gears like 8 or more purely because they were forced by the governments pushing for better fuel economy.

Why oh why didn't they fit a tailgate rear door rather than that stupid gate door?

Road tax is currently £28.87 per month.
Insurance depends on many factors - for me as a 40+ year old with clean license and many years of NCD in a low risk postcode it is around £300 a year.

No problems at all with the Automatic gearbox. I changed the transmission fluid with genuine Toyota fluid and that was it. They are very reliable.

I’ve had 2 ravs for 12 years (2005 cruiser & 2009 sx6)and haven’t had to put a cent into them. By far the most reliable cars I have ever owned. They just start and go
