Not a lot of people know about this one. If you click on the scratch above the word release, it works as a switch and the knob pops up a little bit. It completely changes the release characteristics! It's a hidden gem I found a while back and everyone I mention it to has no clue about it. I don't think it's in the manual.

It's a high pass side chain button. And everyone already knows.

@@johnjhonny646 it's not a high pass. It's a tilt filter (hence the slope graphic) the center frequency of which changes depending on the input/program material. Enabling the setting changes the threshold as well. Kindly lower your voice, we're all here to learn.

      @BIG_PASTA Год назад

@@JoeyFTL From what I gathered from reading it is a HPF switch for the sidechain to lessen the degree to which the compressors react to bass frequencies - but it seems to completely high pass the output? With it engaged (on a drum buss) I get WAY more compression when theoretically I should be getting less as the bass drum shouldn't be causing as much gain reduction, but it is. So maybe I'm not understanding what this does, but it certainly doesn't react like any other compressor when you HPF the sidechain lol... :/

    Great video!
Honestly, the 1176 legacy plugins are great and glad to see it's getting some love here!
Sometimes I just want nice, fairly transparent compression without the added characteristics and harmonics and those legacy plugins do the job nicely.

Love these 1176 plugins. Happy about the way it shines in RnB especially. This combined with CL-B makes vocals right there and smooth with some Waves H Delay 👌🏼

Hey bro, I can't believe I overlooked some of the secret elements considering that I use every version in every one of my tracks. and they are among the most premium ones... I love all the versions, but the most recent update they made with UAD Spark is great, and I have been waiting for it for a while, I can now utilise every version of the compressor without even plugging in the audio interface. This is a great video. Cheers, brotha✌️✌️✌️

Also in Drums and Guitar Groups, I advice to use it in mono dual; so each channel (left and right) have their own compression

It has to be the A, E, or AE versions.
They are the silver “screws” between the two input and output knobs

    Hello! Thanks for the tips…
you asked for suggestions, right? Here is one:
it would be cool and very useful, especially for one who is just learning about compression, if you provided small samples of what you were talking about…
    For example:
you talked about pushing the output knob to get some specific results, it would be nice to hear what kind of results this can provide
Of course when we noticed the difference with their ears, but I believe it will help a lot if the person knows what to here for beforehand… Does it make any sense? I hope so…
Once again, thanks for taking the time to share your experience

      Thanks Gabriel!
With this series, I wanted to keep the videos as brief and to the point as possible, so I made the decision not to include examples as it could get much more dense.
But I think you’re right, I probably should reconsider the approach.
      Cheers!

Steve what's up brother. I'm looking to buy your Native X presets . I know I'm not on the right video but couldn't find comments on the store page. Can I use it without Logic Pro.? I'm running LUNA of course Studio One And Scumbag Pro Tools who took my Smack compressor when I re subscribed ANNUALLY AGAIN AT FULL PRICE because I let my subscription lapse for 2 or 3 days because I have a life and don't check on my AVID status everyday. Of course I had the smack compressor on just about every project I was working on. Is that even legal? They don't tell you before you re subscribe that your being punished for the 2 days my Pro Tools subscription lapsed and we're taking the best compressor that's INCLUDED WITH THE PRO TOOLS VERSION YOUR PURCHASING AGAIN . That's a bitch move to pull on your customers . I don't punish my customers. Anyways You got me going a couple years back and convinced me to buy an Apollo and when I did I started to take recording a lot more serious and I'm proud to say I have my 1st 2 pieces of Outboard Gear arriving tomorrow! The Focusrite ISA One Pre Amp designed by everyones homie Rupert and The one and only UA 1176. Oh SHIATTTT! Can't wait to open up my fresh Mogami golds coming with them and hook those bad boys up and hear what my Mojave Tube Condenser sounds like now. Let me know on that Native X if it can be used with every DAW but Logic. I'm thinking yeah . But you listed Logic so I just want to make sure. Thanks man for everything.

      Hey Mate!
Thanks so much for reaching out. Playing catch up on all my comments, finally had a chance to get to this one.
There is only one specific pack of presets that is specifically for logic. and it says it in the product title.. you'd not be able to use those with anything else other than logic... I'm probably gonna pull it from the store cause it's confusing...
now the "Native Class-X" that are plugin specific presets, they should work in any daw, as the presets are store in the directory specific to the plugin itself. So.. yeah. the only NATIVE pack that won't work with other daws is the one that says logic... of course, there are also the UAD console based presets, but those are for the UAD-2 version to be used with console outside of the daw. Hope this helped!
Great work on getting the outboard gear! I hope you've been loving it since you got them! A real 76 is just so much fun.
      Cheers!
      Steve
