Can't help but think about the people that laid these tracks, built the bridges, and forged through rock to make tunnels. Remarkable achievement!
Hi Paul, totally agree. That is something we should all reflect on.
It is sobering to think that some men probably died, too, because these were Nineteenth century and Victorian era times. No 'health and safety' or worker rights back then.
Sacrifice to deliver the literal building blocks of a pre industrial society.
I could watch this stunning video all day long. Unparalleled beauty.
@@markedwards6147 Well said, sir.
And it's still only single track.
N I Bet largely forgotten in modern world
@@markedwards6147Hi Agreed 100%. especially the workers Shud be Memorial Day for them Oh I was n Mallaig twice all d way by train from Glasgow 🛤️🛤️
I feel less alone knowing lots of other people also find this relaxing
I didn't know this existed until i searched for it myself
Im so glad I did
Thank you for doing this
Nice video. It would be good to see more of the same route in different seasons and different lighting conditions. Personally, I would prefer the ambient sound of the engine to the music on the soundtrack.
Totally agree with you regarding the sound of the engine to the music.
Lovely scenery but can we please get rid of the music and have the sounds of the train instead. Captions giving station names would be helpful too. Note some comments regarding sun glare but we wouldn’t get the beautiful autumn colours if filmed in summer when the sun is higher in the sky.
Completely agree 💯% about the music. I had to mute mine but I'd love to have heard the train sounds instead. They should dub in the sounds of a class 37 locomotive!
Well i the music 😇!!!!
I agree! And to rub salt into the wound … the ‘musique’ isn’t even Scottish … poor show.
Music better than chattering wheels
04/29/24: AGREED. Noise pollution. Only empty suits would prefer that. And how about filming when there's SUNLIGHT?!
We will be doing a 14 day circle Scotland trip by rail in September 2023. So much looking forward to it…
Have fun!
Reading the comments, so many people don't enjoy the music.. I love the music that you picked, very relaxing and calming. I do agree about shooting the video into the sun, but you can't change mother nature. If the train was heading in the opposite direction, the video would be perfect. All in all I loved your creation here, and I really enjoyed the music you picked for it.. I would also like to hear the real train sounds, many do half music and half real train sound. That would keep some of the music haters happy. (and us music lovers also) I liked it a lot!! thank you!!!
I normally absolutely despise music with stuff like this. But this is the one time I felt it was proper. I do, however wish they found longer tracks lol. A new song every minute and 30 seems weird. I personally enjoyed the first one, and thought it was fitting, and it ended and it was kind of jarring.
Incredible. We are looking at millions of man-hours through cold, rain, wind and snow.
Route planning, grading, embankments, tunnels, drainage, bridges and maintenance. This video is an eye-opening testimony to a magnificent engineering achievement.
There is much to be proud of 🏴🇬🇧
I'd rather not have the music. I prefer to hear what people on the train would hear, as if I were there.
I like Scotland because it’s got the best scenic railways in the UK.
Beautiful scenery and I really enjoyed the music too.)
Going this year for my 40th birthday. Should have been last year but the rubbish C-19 put a hold on till this year so this video is very good inspiration for me. Exited for it.
Man this is sooo lovely seeing the sun rising slowly
Wow
I find sunrises more relaxing than sunsets~
This is just what I needed 😊 love the music!
I don't want music, i want train sounds!
Me too. Clickety-clack...Whoo-oo!
Or a least if there has to be music let it be Scottish music...
I don't know I find it quite relaxing
Me too !!!
Some camera movement would be nice. I doubt the train's eye has the best view. Mostly bushes lining the tracks.
Breathtaking country. I would love to ride this line for real someday.
And what better way to bring out all those autumn colours than a dull, overcast day. Geniuses.
I'm here thanks to Katya Zamolodchikova ❤✨ It's wonderful✨
Peaceful
Scotland is sooooooo gorgeous!
What's so gorgeous it looks a desolate place to make me feel lonely not a drop of sun👎👎👎👎
Thank you for a wonderful ride.
Amazing views. Loved just sitting and taking it all in. Could I ask that the music be removed in the future!
This train ride video scenery very much resembles riding through Norway with RailCowGirl.
You can hardly see the forest. But the landscape is still beautiful! But I think it would be even more beautiful with a forest.
Such a lovely view. I certainly would have preferred hearing the sound of the train over the music. Other than that lovely video.
For those complaining about the music: this is more than likely an intereor cam, and most modern trains are well soundproofed and the rails(especially the newer looking built ones in this video)dont make sounds like you think they do, because the trains are built to mitigate noise. It would just sound like an empty greyhound bus.
Edit: @National Rail, thank you for not cutting the tunnel at 22:45 ! Even though we can't see much, it was neat seeing the light at the end!
Oh, so very scenic! What fun to ride along! Thanks for sharing. [Greetings from Tucson]
Lovely video. The very best bits come in the second half of the journey, as the train travels ever deeper into mountainous Highland terrain.
So relaxing to watch.
Wonderful video beautiful scenery however the music spoils it, I would like to hear wheels on train tracks.
sad that the sound of the train was blocked out with music
be nice if there was a version without the music, just the train sounds.
Beautiful trip, but I prefer the real train sound to music
i love it
My dream country is Uk. Personaly I love these enviroment clip. But may be Uk some peoples might not value them country ,not every one. This train journey goes between hills and seaside. Protect your nature mother.❤❤ comment from Sri Lanka
Personally I think this video is a breath of fresh air. The music is a perfectly appropriate accompaniment to the atmospheric lighting which shows up the beautiful Scottish highland scenery. There is no clickety clack of the rails as audio recording of cab conversations are not allowed.
I too enjoy cab ride videos but cannot claim to be an "aficionado" and it makes a nice change to have a soothing musical background, which can always be muted of course.
Yess 👍
Totally agree. Get rid of the music and lets hear the train. We train lovers need our train sounds.
That "music" gets right on your raspberry ripples.
🍇🌊
I love these kind of video's. Would be more interesting if the original sounds were in the video.
perfect video perfect music very relaxing and stunningly beautiful
I love the music, so peaceful
I like the music.
Simple amazing...
The music is soft and soothing ❤
Could have been an amazing video had it not been for the terrible lighting conditions, I gave up after 10 minutes. I've travelled over this line twice, once in poor weather and once in medium conditions. On both occasions it was an enormous experience, this for me doesn't cut it and detracts from the amazing engineering and awesome scenery....!
Awesome awesome awesome 💯
After watching 3 of these videos, I have realized that the beautiful haunting music is meant to give the journey an atmosphere that is different to the normal clacketly clack, throbbing Diesel engine sound of most of these type of vids. It gives the whole experience a magical quality, or is it just me? I am really impressed by it and the way the music was picked and added to the vid, someone has put a lot of thought into this.
I so miss the clicket5y clack. It’s relaxing too
Beautiful!!!❤
This looks lovely, but only intermittently! it's such a shame that so many of the videos in this series seem to be shot travelling into the setting sun or in deep shadow. The Exeter-Paignton video was the same. Surely it should be possible to get cab ride videos done at more suitable times of day for seeing these routes in their full glory?
And worse, if thats possible, is the completely inappropriate, loud music soundtrack. Fans like me who are cab ride aficionados want to hear the mechanical sounds only.
I actually like it
The camera is taking in far too much sky. It should be point downwards a bit as its exposing for the sky instead of the scenery
Beautiful scenery and I really enjoyed the music too. Very peaceful ❤️
Lovely. Now only if public transport was affordable…
I also wonder how that journey would look in spring or early summer. Great video !
Cannae wait to watch this btw❤️
Amazing scenery and amazing music, why would anyone ever want to watch the trash on the BBC or Netflix?
This nothing in front of indian railway natural beauty greenary everywhere nice and calming
Are you out of your mind ? lmao. I mean IR is nice and all, but Scottish beauty is on another level altogether.
Sad with the music. I watch these for the trains if I want music I am perfectly able of picking my own. Running it soundless is an option, but then the sound of the train is still missing
It's a lovely part of the country and a very scenic line, but it's a pity that this was filmed in winter. The sun being so low in the sky resulted in the camera's automatic exposure adjustment making much of the scenery so underexposed it's just a mess of black silhouettes, particularly during the early part of the journey. Also, while bare trees do have a stark beauty, the Highlands in summer are stunning.
@ScotRail has its own video on the Fort William to Malling line. ruclips.net/video/xzOK8dnmXCo/видео.html
Sadly the Exeter to Paignton video was the same.
Anyone notice the deer on track at 12:53?
Would you ever do Coleraine-Derry in Northern Ireland on a video like this? It’s really nice on a sunny day
National Rail only operates in Great Britain, not Northern Ireland. Poke @TranslinkNI
@@philipbranco9568 They have done it, I do know the above but it'd be pretty cool if translink were to do it or even give national rail the footage
If I wanted to listen to Enya, I’d seek out an Enya video.
♥
Lovely trip and music. Would love to see map reference as well intermittently.
Just open a map in another window so you can follow along.
How was this filmed? I'm intrigued because people are frozen at the stations, no wind, car or people movement. It's like a picture in video.
Gorgeous place but a disappointing video. I agree with other comments about shooting the videos with better light conditions and not into the setting sun.
The comments here are so strange. Why are people offering film technique tips when it's clear they just strapped a camera to the train and captured whatever it captured - sometimes the train will be travelling into the sun it's not like they can change that.
personally love the music. It's relaxing!
Shout out to the deer at 40:17
Very fine video of a favourite journey, but that cloying, sickly sweet background noise is unfortunate - easily muted, though. What were they thinking?
This helps my mental health issues & anxiety …♥️ Music is really cool too.I think rail enthusiasts wanna hear train sounds etc ..but for me music just brings another dimension to post …So so cool & the scenery is stunning
Trailing points... assume these are set and change back after the train has passed?
Love to mute n listen to ELP, bestest ever!
Deer or roe at 40:18
There used to be unwanted music in elevators too.
Wait… did you stop this video JUST before the Glenfinnan Viaduct? You couldn’t have continued on for another few minutes so we could see the most famous part of the line? Odd choice.
looks great but not everyone will be able to sit in the engine room to see this view, at best it will be from your cabin windows, which may not feel as majestic as this,
Normal Sounds replaced by music 👎 People can personally replace the natural sound by muting it and putting there OWN choice of music on, what people CAN'T do is mute the music and replace it with the ORIGINAL sound.
Shane madej was right ladies and gentlemen
Please REMOVE the music from these videos!
It would have been more better with the actual train tracks and background noise
I'd rather not have the music. I'd rather hear what people on the train would hear, as if I were really riding on the train.
This picture is too dark ! 💪💪
We use the term music very loosely. Unwatchable sadly
Please upload without music
NANING WHAT IS THUS ITHIS HREATTRT
poor lighting, I would have shot it at a different time of day. Cant see much thru most of the video
Obliged to mute this. The "muzac" too horrible. Beautiful rail journey, though.
2nd part was very nice. 1st part was too dark i.m.h.o. My suggestion would be not to take vids into the sun. But thanks for the ride.
The totally unnecessary musick destroyed this video. Sorry about that because the video looked interesting.
is this are even real guys pls help me
Music too intrusive
I feel like I'm on my to Hogwarts.
This is scotland reality not hogwart fantasy 🙄
@@healingandgrowth-infp4677 Yeah… This is the real part of Scotland they filmed for the train scenes in the Harry Potter movies… so I don’t know why you are being so pissy that someone watching this would be reminded of the train journey to Hogwarts. 🙄
The constant monotonous drone is terrible! Ruins an good video!
The music ruins it. When will people learn?
Beautiful scenery and beautiful music, why would anyone need the woke BBC and Netflix trash 😅
poor optics --some too dark----a lot blurriness
Please stop adding the music! It really detracts from the videos.
Nature has provided a beautiful landscape and workers provided us with the railway, why can't the filmmakers use proper lighting conditions. The soundtrack doesn't do the scenery justice either. Very unprofessional on their part.
I expected more sheep
Maybe shoot this at a different time of day so you can more vividly showcase the kind of landscapes you're trying to attact people to come and see? Its too dark to see anything in this video.
The music really ruins it for me , otherwise great
Get rid of the background music! Would much prefer ordinary noise from the train…
THERE IS NO NEED FOR MUSIC
Photography 101
never shoot into the setting sun like that
Also remove the creepy music
It adds nothing to the video and detracts
from the experience.
why is there music? are you a dj? why is it so short?
