Spot on advice, just getting the image corrected solved all my problems. It started after a Microsoft update and I hadn't been able to fix it. Even undoing the updates didn't solve the problem. This did, many thanks my friend.
@@starshdelapaz7221 sfc or DISM? Each can take long depending on what function you use. When you run sfc, try sfc /VERIFYONLY. See if it reports system file issues. If it does, then try sfc /SCANNOW. Yes it can take long. SCANNOW will attempt to fix issues while VERIFYONLY will simply check for issues.

Here's one for you Mike...Every time i switch on Pc in morning, my settings in Power and Sleep, keep resetting to Sleep after 15 Mins, even if i change in Additional Power Settings and save, it still does the 15 Mins again...I want to change to Never...How do i keep it set to Never :-)
that is a good question? do you have any other software installed that might be overriding the windows settings on boot? Things like Asus Ai Suite or MSI Dragon center will often do what they want regardless of you windows choices

Yeah, doesn't work, it's the same problem as the assistant, when everything is ready and the pc gets ready to restart in order to install the update, it stops at around 58% at says an error occured installing the update or something along those lines and shows this error code: 0x800700c1
I'm super lost. I tried updating pc, didn't work, tried to reset pc and then update it, reset didn't work, then I try to run DISM and SFC scans and health restores, doesn't work either (I used correct spacing), then they recommend me to update windows to the latest version if the scans aren't working. Like what am I supposed to do? This is a cursed circle.

Just did this to my pc, no idea what happened but yesterday morning the pc was running fine, then later that day I turn it on and my D drive was nowhere to be fine. Unplugged and plugged the drive back in, nothing, went to disk management and there was nothing showing up there. Geek squad was useless as always. Only thing that I could think of doing is factory reset. Tried that and 12 hours later I get the no changes made message.. hopefully this works. Losing my mind over here..

It got to 82.2% and then it returned an error. Edit: So I fixed that command prompt error. But now, whenever the actual computer restarts during the end of the Windows Reset/reinstall tool process, the screen just goes to static and it doesn't ever actually shut down or restart. So I have to force restart. Once it restarts, it tells me the same old "the reset failed" and that "no changes have been made" etc. It's like Microsoft knows I am getting rid of Windows and is spiting me.... I sold this pc and am now frantically trying to factory reset it thinking that it should be a simple task. But of course! Nothing is "simple" with Windows! I've been at this for hours! Windows is so bad, that once you decide it's terrible and decide to get rid of it, it doesn't let you! This kind of "one step forward two steps back" BS is why I am getting rid of this shit OS in the first place! Go figure..... If nothing else works correctly with this OS, why did I even expect a simple thing like a factory reset to work in the first place? It's honestly my fault for thinking something such as a basic factory reset would be a simple task with Windows 10. It's honestly my fault for buying a PC after coming to believe that Microsoft may have gotten their shit back together since failing with Vista and 7.

Downloaded a game off steam and my pc crashed so I restarted it next minute the audio service wasn't starting and I lost complete access to enabling Wi-Fi I tried trouble shooting then resetting and still nothing so I went and tried to use a system restore point and the system restore point kept coming up with errors now my laptop had been running slow before all this so I ran some commands to debloat it and it worked fine and 4 months later it does this some one help me

when i did dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth it got corrupted whats was the point of thst one part if u cant help me fix that. because thtas the problem
well that could point you in the direction of the route cause of your issues. If you are corrupting fresh data you likely have a ram or disk drive failing

@@starshdelapaz7221 sfc or DISM? Each can take long depending on what function you use. When you run sfc, try sfc /VERIFYONLY. See if it reports system file issues. If it does, then try sfc /SCANNOW. Yes it can take long. SCANNOW will attempt to fix issues while VERIFYONLY will simply check for issues.

Here's one for you Mike...Every time i switch on Pc in morning, my settings in Power and Sleep, keep resetting to Sleep after 15 Mins, even if i change in Additional Power Settings and save, it still does the 15 Mins again...I want to change to Never...How do i keep it set to Never :-)
that is a good question? do you have any other software installed that might be overriding the windows settings on boot? Things like Asus Ai Suite or MSI Dragon center will often do what they want regardless of you windows choices

Yeah, doesn't work, it's the same problem as the assistant, when everything is ready and the pc gets ready to restart in order to install the update, it stops at around 58% at says an error occured installing the update or something along those lines and shows this error code: 0x800700c1
I'm super lost. I tried updating pc, didn't work, tried to reset pc and then update it, reset didn't work, then I try to run DISM and SFC scans and health restores, doesn't work either (I used correct spacing), then they recommend me to update windows to the latest version if the scans aren't working. Like what am I supposed to do? This is a cursed circle.

Just tried this now I can’t access my start menu to even get to the reset page. Had to reinstall windows to fix everything. Hopefully no one else runs into this problem

Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location and I have looked everywhere for a fix but cant seem to find one...

Just did this to my pc, no idea what happened but yesterday morning the pc was running fine, then later that day I turn it on and my D drive was nowhere to be fine. Unplugged and plugged the drive back in, nothing, went to disk management and there was nothing showing up there. Geek squad was useless as always. Only thing that I could think of doing is factory reset. Tried that and 12 hours later I get the no changes made message.. hopefully this works. Losing my mind over here..

It got to 82.2% and then it returned an error.
Edit: So I fixed that command prompt error. But now, whenever the actual computer restarts during the end of the Windows Reset/reinstall tool process, the screen just goes to static and it doesn't ever actually shut down or restart.
So I have to force restart. Once it restarts, it tells me the same old "the reset failed" and that "no changes have been made" etc.
It's like Microsoft knows I am getting rid of Windows and is spiting me.... I sold this pc and am now frantically trying to factory reset it thinking that it should be a simple task. But of course! Nothing is "simple" with Windows! I've been at this for hours!
Windows is so bad, that once you decide it's terrible and decide to get rid of it, it doesn't let you! This kind of "one step forward two steps back" BS is why I am getting rid of this shit OS in the first place! Go figure..... If nothing else works correctly with this OS, why did I even expect a simple thing like a factory reset to work in the first place?
It's honestly my fault for thinking something such as a basic factory reset would be a simple task with Windows 10. It's honestly my fault for buying a PC after coming to believe that Microsoft may have gotten their shit back together since failing with Vista and 7.

Downloaded a game off steam and my pc crashed so I restarted it next minute the audio service wasn't starting and I lost complete access to enabling Wi-Fi I tried trouble shooting then resetting and still nothing so I went and tried to use a system restore point and the system restore point kept coming up with errors now my laptop had been running slow before all this so I ran some commands to debloat it and it worked fine and 4 months later it does this some one help me
okay this doesn't really ask a question that i see? most of it is a statement or description of what the system is doing. There is no obvious question being asked, but sounds maybe like your drive is failing or is corrupted if that helps at all

I bought a pc from someone a while ago and they left their account on it ive tried yo factory reset it bc they didnt tell me their account password so i gotta do it from the start up screen / login screen and i tried to remove everything and it says "reset this pc" "there was a problem resetting your PC" "cancel"
i would wipe it and start over, get a USB drive and download the media creation tool and just do a clean install

try a windows repair install, that is pretty easy to do we did a video on it as well
What if the dism check comes back with "error 1392 file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"?

It just stops with the image version. Then not loading with the percentage anymore

when i did dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth it got corrupted whats was the point of thst one part if u cant help me fix that. because thtas the problem
well that could point you in the direction of the route cause of your issues. If you are corrupting fresh data you likely have a ram or disk drive failing

Kind of thing called spoofer don’t now what is was but it deleted my windows key
I’ve managed to upgrade windows10 through usb and now I can reset but only clean data not the delete files from the all drives, I tried your method and it successfully cleaned image but still has problem resetting
