@vk vk And Asashoryu has a losing record against Musashimaru. So tell me, who's the greatest? Musashimaru? Hakuho set many records that will not be beaten for years and decades and he dominated the world of sumo for 14 years. Just compare 23 emperor cups of Asa and 45(!) of Hakuho. What an epic upload! Thank you. Watching his form and ability to adapt to whatever is done by his opponent is eye opening. His outside right belt hold is incredible for its ability to keep his opponent's inside left from being a factor. Just a true Sumo ballet to watch.
Yes, his ability to read his opponent's moves & counter them supremely fast made his bouts seem almost foregone conclusions at times. A kind of on-the-fly repertoire applied with above & beyond speed/timing. You sense the crowd really wanted an upset now & again
His mental game seems extremely well planned. His persona gives off different vibes, hard to read, as he seems to almost always place his hand on the ground last, making me think he is reading his opponents body language and intentions. What a Stud.
Hakuho had an extraordinary strong left arm and he knew how to make good use of it. A tremendous lower body flexibility, a calculative brain, total awareness of the ring and supreme agility. No doubt he became the GOAT with so many capabilities.
