Nice to see how well Rome 2 actually still is and that with some tweakings you can make it look even better. I actually believe we have reached peak graphics a few years ago
Ayyeeee another ROME II Tuber! Great video! I was planning on doing a "nExT gEn" *without ReShade, then I found yours. Still might do it though. Very professional quality video man. Liked and subbed. Can't wait to see more :) Edit: btw I agree the pre-EE trees look better. Honestly I prefer the pre-EE red buttons too.
Better water HD is objectively worse, it's dark everywhere. It would've been perhaps better had the coastline been brighter, but as it is, it looks like every inch of the see is 3km deep.
Thank you Andy, I really enjoyed your video and found it helpful. You have a taste. Benefits to a lot of people. Keep doing tutorial videos, you're good at it 👍
Finally, 50 hours in, my Darthmod Empire campagin as the Dutch is nearing completion. The entirety of Western Europe, except for Gibraltar (why Russia, why did you have to invade Southern Spain and ruin my OCD perfect map?) is under my control. There is fierce fighting in India, as it has been the previous 10 years, but my hordes of V.O.C. line infantry are slowly pushing inlands. I completely control the trade lanes and spices. There, in the horizon, I can see an end to my current TW campaign. Finally, I will play another game. Maybe something light-hearted, maybe something that doesn't make me sink hours upon hours into it. And then you go and make me want to play Rome 2. Again. Oh well, antiquity, here we come!
Finally got this reshade mod to not look like garbage after a bit of trouble shooting. Make sure you turn off film grain in the in-game graphics settings, because the film grain coupled with all the extra sharpening, contrast, and shading is graphically intolerable and visually annoying. If you mess around a for a while with the reshade settings as well as the in-game settings, you will eventually land on something that looks quite nice.

Hi, you know what the best mods are for the vanilla version of Rome 2 and Attila Total war, like a list with all the best mods of now, because I didn't know which ones were given the exorbitant number of mods.
@@AndysTake ohhhh. I found it. Another problem tho. I’m in game and I found Hazard_preset_-_ Rome_2 -2.0, but I can’t find the stuff like DLEC, Revail top n bottom, prod, Clarity, MXAO. Any suggestions on what to do?
Hey quick question mate. Apparently reverting back to the beta launcher called "Launcher_release_candidate" makes mods more stable. Problem is that I don't have that as an option in the drop down menu and I am getting bugs after battles which soft locks the game. ( I am using DEI ) Maybe I also need to clean my directory from fragments of mods I had in the past?
Hm. I’d say try to delete your user.script file in the documents/app data/roaming/creativeasaembly/rome2 folder, and see if that helps? But yes, if that doesn’t work, try to clean up your stuff, uninstall, delete mod folders, and everything related to Rome 2, then try again.
On my computer after I setup all of the settings like you did everything is blurry. any ideas why? I am running rome on a TV. could this be the issue? The mouse has a vertical and horizontal axis and only on those axis the blur is not present.
@@AndysTake I checked off all the filters to see which one was doing it. For me it was the cinematic filters so I turned them off. Thanks for the video and help!
Also I had a question about the no borders mod how do you know where your borders lie as not to trespass or when you want to be close to enemy while replenishing troops ?
Hey if I wanted to remove the reshade and every option I made , how would i do that? I clicked everything off and now don't remember my preset Also because it takes 10 min on the loading screem
Hm, you can always delete the reshade files that you installed? You can also click the “toggle” button that you have designated or which has already been designated in the reshape overlay settings, so you can try to look there :)
what is this? A 10 minute ad for your reshade settings? Aside from Orbis Terrarium, your shortest and probably most helpful section, along with Better Water III thats all I see. There are a lot of good things you could have recommended.
All this is is me wanting to share what my game looks like so that others can have it look the same if they want to. It’s not even my reshade, it’s just my settings. What would I advertise for even?
If i put on this reshade with same setting, my game looks like a shit. But if i personaly mix things up it looks a little bit nice but still bad. And also with reshade on my campaing map, my battle map gets black screen. But Orbis Terarum and realistic water with dark blue plus blank borders and trade route (everything else without reshade) looks GREAT and also i noticed that battle map have more ambience with Orbis Terarum. So, I am still happy. HOW TO DELETE THIS RESHADE CRAP? 😂 I delete everything related to reshade and when I start the game it reappears.. 😑
Try installing reshade again, when you do that you should see an uninstall reshade option. Reshade is good though you just gotta get a better preset this one is trash 😂
Ok it does not look truly next-gen like, so correct yourself on that. Secondly it looks more cleaner for the most part if anything. But these mods are still worth it as it does make it game a lot better looking...just not NEXT-GEN.
They should be since they’re only graphical mods, but I can’t guarantee it. The sweet FX mod definitely is though, but yes I do believe they all should be :)
Do you know why you can’t install it? Did you follow the video, it’s fairly straight forward :) the reason why you can’t install reshade through steam is because it’s its own program.
