What I’d do is have the Americas, Europe, Middle East & India but eventually you unlock the ‘scramble for Africa’ and have China and Japan as some kind of off-map entities that you can have missions into occasionally to open a trade port and open up resources (opium *cough*). I think you can get milk it for some interesting mechanics rather than just have them as more provinces to invade.
They will have 5 factions and the 5 will be sold separately as overpriced dlc. If they at least switched to a paradox style dlc system where they would have a lot of fleshed out factions instead of historically inaccurate few ones it would be at least a step in a direction of decent quality. Without a doubt it would have awful mechanics that would ruin the experience like HP bars and such and so since they would refuse to switch back to more immersive systems of their older games. It is a series in decline and the only hope falls into smaller studios, competitors and indie developers who would be willing to undertake the journey of making a large scale turn based/rts game.
Empire was my first total war and still my favorite. I played every total war from then, I always dreamed of an empire 2 and I still hope one day to see it 🥲
Empire 2 is the next historical title I want and have been wanting, even over Med 3! Another great video, Andy. CA needs to hear it from the mountain tops haha
Are you talking about Victoria 3 from paradox? If so I totally agree that it’s total crap. I’d call Victoria 3 one of the worst video games of all time.
Well and it's bad. And the same will happen to Empire 2. Turns out that companies that abandoned fan favorites, only fall back to fan service when their creativity falls flat completely.
I bought Empire randomly, on a physical disc. There was some trouble with getting it to work with Steam, so I tried to return it. Gamestop wouldn't take it as it had been opened or something, so I decided to give it another go and send a request to Steam to help me, with a picture of the receipt and everything. Heard nothing for days, then suddenly, the game had appeared in my library without the use of my disc. Somebody at Steam had just given me access. I've been a fan of Total War since, and I continue to return to Empire due to its scale and setting. I so wish for a sequel with significant improvements, but still having the old feeling where units had weight, something that disappeared with Rome 2.
What I like in terms of map look should be like in Warhammer where slowly the region turns to a culture. Be it native american, eastern or european. Culture should play a factor in the game.
Empire is one of my favourite TW games. If they can make its battles and whatnot as good as Napoleon, empire 2 would be perfect. And maybe add in different campaigns for different times, maybe a 1783 start so that you can play as the US or some other nations. And maybe with empire 2 you could go to parts of Japan and China for either trade or genuine theaters of war. I really hope they do it justice and combine napoleons battles with empires scale it would be so good.
The best start is 1600, because there is the biggest technological difference from the sword to the musket, and most of the world is nobody's - ready to be discovered. Besides, in 1600 all European countries had a chance to be great. Including Portugal, Spain, Venice, Turkey, Poland, Sweden and Russia. In Empire 1 from 1700, only Britain and the Marathas have such a chance, and a little bit France and Prussia.

Some good ideas but I would like to add a new dynamic to armies like for instance you have captains that can only have a few troops to head of states that could hold even more like 56 let's and field marshals having 48 or something and more government options and limited character interactivity like for instance if you are revolutionary France and elect a authoritarian character it should have a event chain where he declares himself dictator
I really think what we need is a Warhammer trilogy but for historical. They already regularly release multiple games based off the same engine, so CA should build a foundation for empire 2 by first making a medieval 3. Largely agree with everything you said. Wouldn't make it a worldwide game, though I would take South America down a bit to include at least a part of Brazil, in order to give Portugal a presence in that theatre. Even if you do it in the coast of Brazil trade node as 'Imperial Destroyer' mod showed how it can be done. I also would split France and Spain into more regions, and release Crete and Cyprus from the regions they currently they belong to. I would also hope they fix the mess of what is called 'Cologne' in the Absolutum Dominium mod I currently play, and other things in other mods. Take Cleves out of it for another Prussian Region; Make Hessen-Kessel, and maybe Munster for a third. More Indian factions would hopefully mean that the Marathas have a harder time taking over all India, Asia Minor and Russia, as the often end up doing. Religious buildings are the least useful to build. I would give them the ability to reduce the odds of Ministers and rulers gaining negative traits, as well as conversions and increasing happiness. Let us choose from the whole range of possible buildings when pop increase gives us a new city. Maybe even incorporating some of the buildings from Napoleon. For tech, I would like to see more faction specific tech, and a new medicine tech tree to go next to the philosophy one. More trade zones (Fur in the Canadian Far north, Tea in China), and more commodities and their values in the commodities screen. Damn we are actually seeing a real mobile Empire Total War, and not those bad scammy ads we used to see all over in the late 2010’s. We’re getting that before an Empire 2 is the funny part.
I loved Empire, I really wished it would incorporate some of the updates to other TW games. I also hoped the time period from 1453-1700 would be covered by CA. Also, fewer cities makes the game a little boring. A zoom function would be great. Something between Thrones of Brittania and Attila.
One pet peeve of mine in Empire, is that I can’t toggle between volley fire, fire by rank, platoon fire, and fire at will. Each of those modes has their own advantages and I wish I could utilize them.
Empire was my most played TW game until WH 2. I really want an Empire 2 that goes from the 1700s to the mid-late 1800s. I want to experience the Wars of Austrian and Spanish Succession, the Napoleonic Wars, the Austro-Prussian War, the Franco-Prussian war. And a larger time period could make tech more impactful. The main problem I see with that idea is pacing though.
@@boltsky1 remember, medieval 2 had an insane amount of those massive events. Crusades, mongols, black plague, gunpowder, timurids, and finally the Americas. Pacing was no issue, so I don’t see what the issue would be in such a game either
@@AndysTake that's an excellent point! And now I want to go play both Empire and Medieval 2 as a break from CK3. XD Appreciate the reply and all the videos! TW was my first game franchise as a kid and it's stayed near and dear to my heart. Continue the great work :)
I hope you continue releasing videos regarding empire 2. Maybe that will open CA eyes because they seem to be blind regarding what fans really want. Don’t stop, please
Whenever I play the previous parts before Rome 2, I also dream of improved versions of these games. But I'm afraid, judging by the direction CA is going, we won't be able to wait for such games anymore.
Empire 2 needs the whole world. The DLC can focus on areas of the map similar to how the US Independence DLC worked. If they create the entire map, they can zoom in on hundreds of conflicts in the past and future. They’d be selling the DLC at $30 each for good reason. They can add extra cities as necessary in those DLCs. It’s a centimillion dollar move.
I would absolutely LOVE an Empire II. I still play Empire with mods till this day. There aren't many games in that kind of historical setting, unfortunately. I haven't really been able to get hooked on Paradox's games so far because I don't feel as immersed.
This time era just provides in such a great worldwide campaign map. The scramble for africa, the seizing of European Asian trade posts, the tragedy of indigenous south american downfall and much more. PLEASE make this game happen, since it has so much to offer and even when it provides us with the first game in such a basic way, it can only get better…
Honestly - I would be extremely happy with a new Empire: total war expanding to China / South east Asia / Japan, Joseon (Korea) etc. for the true global dominance aspect while using fall of the samurai's battle engine which I think was as close to perfect as they could get.. I really don't care about graphics to be honest. I just want a game that makes sense and has pathfinding that a new age total war could absolutely achieve. CA could even make TONs of DLC with different expanded periods of history spanning different timelines/ wars after 1600 to even the US Civil War. The world is for the taking! Creative Assembly - Your move.
As large as the map is it doesn't feel that way at all. Especially when you look at factors like faction KO ability. France is literally 2 regions, Netherlands 1, Portugal 1. When taking the home front a faction dies. All it's colonies become independent states. And I get it they had to make cuts at the time. But it really shows it's age now.
There should also be many options to manage provinces- should the occupied territory treated with violence or peacefully or even extremely brutal(each one gives other bonuses) Imperator Rome should serve as an example there and also the La resistance dlc from Hoi IV. You should also make laws(Also Imperator Rome as an example) and different ways of managing your army and navy(Should it be in a very good shape or kept cheap). Also the different Nations should get different bonuses and also maybe maluses. For example: Spain should get +10% on trade routes and maybe their standard line infantry -10 points of accuracy.
If they make Empire Total War 2 it will need to be such a game that evolves with time also, let say you start already around 1786 ish, a few years before the french revolution, and then ends about in 1929 right when great depression start (that will be the end game message). I want to be able to play as a startup of the mega empire before the become huge with a size of Victoria 3 Map (yea it needs to be the whole world) and then you see all the wars going left and right as to get more and more land, and the ''end game'' main thing will be world war 1 where you can rewrite history as you see fit. Can you imagine starting to play a line infantry men in the beginning and then having to adapt to trench warfare? I would pay a lot of money to be able to see Artillery Strike fire from accross the map as it hit no man lands, planes etc, I know it's possible now because they added tanks in Warhammer, flying units with drakes and stuff so they can easily add planes. I think that will be the epidome of Total war games. I mean and with how they can add DLC to the game where they add playable countries with their own unique flavour. In my opinion I don't care about multiplayer for a total war game (i know there is a a big community for that) but for me Total War always has been a single player Sandbox go at your own pace type of thing.
Empire 2 has so much potential. I hope for full map all 7 continents. 1700-1800 But I would really wish for one up to the start of the great war. I dont think they will do that but It could be a cool DLC. If you think they dont have the assets for WW1 total war or it doesnt fit the formula, You clearly have not played warhammer total war (or any post 1800 total war). Given the scale of warhammer 3, they could combine 'medieval 3' and 'empire 2' and just make a game from like 1200 AD to 1800 AD. That would be quite grand.
We all can dream. But for the moment (do not want to sound pessimistic), the current CA isn't the CA from older times. Will be a buggy mess as always and rather to fix it on the long term, they probably abandon ship as always. Games like this you need to think on the long term. But CA from today is a very short term minded gaming company. I really do wish this. But the reality hasn't been the best. I mean the Sophia devs are maybe the best devs out there. But yeah...CA is still CA.
Would absolutely love a sequel in this era. Still my favorite TW game despite the bugs Also would be happy with Empire 2 being set in the Victorian era and progressing into WWI
I think start in 1600. By 1700 we have major empires already and several major ones already declining. 1600 is more of a fresh start for most to build into an empire. I think most players want that, build an empire from more humble beginnings. Rather than just taking over some major empire already existing. I mean who plays as the Ottomans and enjoys starting with all that land lol. I start with them and get rid of everything but Anatolia through rebellions and some just giving to the other nations.
Empire sequel needs to have a better economy system. Darthmods biggest flaw is that the economies and armies get too big and clutter the map. They need to limit nations unit numbers and add more economic management
@Total War Make an Empire 2 already. It will be your highest selling game! Just Imagine Millions of Chinese 🇨🇳 fans buying the game to play as the Qing dynasty emperor in 1700s, Millions of Europeans🇪🇺 buying the game to roleplay their country's previous glory, Millions of Japanese 🇯🇵 Fans buying the game to play as the tokugawa shogunate conquering the globe with katanas, Millions of Americans 🇺🇸 buying the game to play USA, millions of Middle Eastern and African fans 🇹🇷 buying the game to restore Ottomans previous glory, millions of pirate fans buying the game just to raid trade routes from the Carribean to Asia🏴☠️😂. If you make it diverse as much as possible with many countries to play with. This game will sell 100M+ copies world wide 😉.
Empire Total war was one of my favorite and most frustrating total war games of all time haha. I always thought they’d make another one and just fix the bugs and AI logic. Also give us some freedom in Custom battles to use all the regional troops!!
Does CA have a license on Total War? There is a Roblox game being made that is like total war. I imagine some other game devs could put something up that is similar to total war and is even better - provided they got funds and the time for it - in just some months. I’m a game dev myself so I think it’s possible, especially if it’s built by skilfully using open source stuff and putting it together. We could have a game similar to TW empire for sure! No need for CA to do it necessarily :p Are there any games similar to total war, maybe indie games / really small games with potential to scale to something good?
Don't get me wrong, Empire is my favourite in the series, but it is by far the worst and most broken title in the series. "I had 6 copies of Empire: Total War sat on my shelf intended for close gamer friends that I didn't send out because I was too embarrassed about the flaws. Old friends are the harshest critics" Direct quote from Mike Simpson, the Creative Director for Empire total war. Even CA was embarrassed by Empire, I imagine the mobile port will still be as much of a buggy mess, but I do hope this is a sign to try drum up some fresh interest in black powder and not a cashgrab. we know they can do it right, the majority of players that's played Fall of the Samurai would agree. Imma choose to be cautiously optimistic thinking that CA knows it deserves a second chance. If any other reason than I wanna see modern day boom mechanics when a full broadside strikes the magazine of an opposing ship with modern graphics. 🎉
Just take examples of the mods and make it a standalone. Expand the map to more of the globe available for conquest. Include African, pacific & South American nations It could be incredible Total war empire 2 or A Westeros total war would be amazing

XD
Appreciate the reply and all the videos! TW was my first game franchise as a kid and it's stayed near and dear to my heart. Continue the great work :)
@@boltsky1 thank you so much, and thank you for watching! hope to see tw return to its greatness again
You could include the Crimea, South American wars of independence, American Civil war, Even the African wars against colonialism like the zulu wars.
I hope you continue releasing videos regarding empire 2. Maybe that will open CA eyes because they seem to be blind regarding what fans really want. Don’t stop, please
CA will fuck up Empire 2 like they did other games
Whenever I play the previous parts before Rome 2, I also dream of improved versions of these games. But I'm afraid, judging by the direction CA is going, we won't be able to wait for such games anymore.
If a navy is nearby to a land battle, it would be cool if the marines could land. As well as a return of Naval Bombardment
I am good with a remaster that takes care of the bugs, gives us some better graphics and improves map and diplomacy KI.
Mix the complex diplomatic and political system of Vicky III with the combat of Empire Total war
i would love an empire 2 i hate the magic bs that total wars been wrapped up in the last few years it just no longer felt like total war.
I would absolutely LOVE an Empire II. I still play Empire with mods till this day. There aren't many games in that kind of historical setting, unfortunately. I haven't really been able to get hooked on Paradox's games so far because I don't feel as immersed.
CA could do some substantial customer research. Instead they'll try to make another game geared for Esports
This time era just provides in such a great worldwide campaign map. The scramble for africa, the seizing of European Asian trade posts, the tragedy of indigenous south american downfall and much more. PLEASE make this game happen, since it has so much to offer and even when it provides us with the first game in such a basic way, it can only get better…
if we had a game with the same scale as Napoleon, applied to the entire world, that’s Game of the Year material
I wish they should do a thirty years war/ Jacobite rebellion title it’s such an interesting time period that doesn’t get much love
Empire 2 is the TotalWar we need!
An empire 2 would be awesome, but Id prefer a napoleon 2
Nope.
what about a compromise - Napoleon time period on an Empire-sized (or larger) map?
@@AndysTake That would be perfect
@@AndysTakethat’s what I want. A Napoleon campaign and battles with empires scale.
Completely agree mate.. I want Empire II with South Africa, China, etc. Imagine.. a true Empire: Total War game with the entire world
Hope you're doing better!👏🏻
Always my favorite total war game first on I ever played
I hope you have fully recovered. Pneumonia sucks.
@@colmhain it sucks so hard, I’m about 95% recovered, just a lingering cough now at times which hopefully will be gone soon
Empire is my favorite in the series, Empire 2 would be an instant buy
Still my favorite TW game despite the bugs
Also would be happy with Empire 2 being set in the Victorian era and progressing into WWI
When Rome1 came so I was thinking of the fututre of the Totalwar... but nothing happend at 25 years :(
Check out the Empire Total War mod called Imperial Splendour. It's fantastic.
Full World Map
More Provinces
Longer time period (1700-1837)
Include other american independence wars (Chile, Argentina, Colombia, etc.).
1492 - 1870 would be quite the setting.
They need a mid-late 1800s game that takes place in the same places that empire does (Americas,Europe, and India)
It makes no sense that they made three frigging three, three! Three warhammers!
Empire sequel needs to have a better economy system. Darthmods biggest flaw is that the economies and armies get too big and clutter the map. They need to limit nations unit numbers and add more economic management
More likely we ll have Alice in Wonderland Total war...
@Total War
Make an Empire 2 already.
They'll never make Empire 2 because it is too "problematic" to "allow" players to "colonize" the world.
I honestly loved the navel warfare, once I got used to it
We need to talk about medieval 3.
Tw3k army fits empire 2 so much...
No need for CA to do it necessarily :p
Are there any games similar to total war, maybe indie games / really small games with potential to scale to something good?
I want to see 3 way battle back in the game.
Don't get me wrong, Empire is my favourite in the series, but it is by far the worst and most broken title in the series.
"I had 6 copies of Empire: Total War sat on my shelf intended for close gamer friends that I didn't send out because I was too embarrassed about the flaws. Old friends are the harshest critics"
Direct quote from Mike Simpson, the Creative Director for Empire total war.
Can't wait for the mobile version to release
Needed so much more than Medieval 3 imo
They should add coastal forts for the navy to attack.
@@phillip_iv_planetking6354 coastal forts would be awesome
Am i the only one that want a napoleon total war 2?
no
Are instant gaming codes safe to use? I mean is there a danger that steam punishes me?
Empire 2 time period 1850-1918 would be peak
As fort and city maps I would like to see Rome an Attila Total War maps
What mod was the footage from?
Just take examples of the mods and make it a standalone. Expand the map to more of the globe available for conquest. Include African, pacific & South American nations
It could be incredible
Total war empire 2 or A Westeros total war would be amazing
I am not fan of total war fantasy genre but but if they can make a house of the dragon total war that would be nice
can you send links for that game ?
im glad i saw ur video i just got like £10 off asseto corsa on that website
thank you so much for supporting the channel, and I'm glad you got an amazing deal!
Playing the Empire 2 mod right now...fun...fun...fun....
Yes we need this with an expanded world map
Or they do Westeros total war
Star Wars
WWI
