    There are reasons to think the Xenomorphs might be silicon-based life forms. Primarily, the optimal solvent for such life would be highly acidic. Secondarily, the only explanation for its rapid growth on a spacecraft would be that it consumes inorganic materials. Thirdly, its teeth have a noticeably metallic sheen.

    Xenomorphs are generally accepted to be silicon based. The acid blood is because their internal energy system is electrical in nature, so the acid is like what you would find in the electrolyte of a wet cell battery (think car battery). There's also been discussions that they are not a naturally occurring species, but were developed as a bioweapon. As silicon based lifeforms, they incorporate inorganic materials such as metals and plastics and use them as food so they can grow.

    I love the Alien Franchise... well the earlier ones at least. Aliens was the first of the series I watched before later seeing Alien. It's an amazing creature design and what makes the first 2 movies so great is how different they are as movies, Aliens added so much to the Alien universe without breaking what the first one had created.

    Fun Fact: Xenomorph encounter math is NOT a 1:1 ratio of Eggs/Facehuggers to Hosts/Drones.
    Each normal (Non Queen) Facehugger implants Multiple chestburster eggs that will usually cannibalize each other if not presenting in a host with sufficient body mass. You can actually reach a yeild of about 1 viable chestburster per 50kg of host biomass. This means that you can get 2-3 (or more) chestbursters out of larger host creatures, even humans. This can result in exponentially larger Xenomorph outbreaks than a given infected population would presume, much to the chagrin of combat planners.

    • @lustrazor44
      @lustrazor44 3 месяца назад +1

      This is no longer canon. The facegugger injects a pathogen into the host. The pathogen then mutates surrounding biological material into the embryo which also weakens the surrounding flesh and bones to make the birth easier for the chest buster. This is covered in the cold forge book

    • @johannesbowers7467
      @johannesbowers7467 3 месяца назад +1

      @@lustrazor44 new canon does not cancel old canon, when two things can be true at the same time. "Pathogen" = in-vitro Chestburster embryo/catalyst and can still generate multiples out of a single host given enough host biomass.

    I've always been curious about how/if the Yautja (predators) altered the Xenomorphs to make them a "more perfect" beast worthy of hunting. There seems to be many hints at their involvement in the development and deployment of Xenomorphs, using them to create hunting grounds where they train against the Xenomorphs mainly. I am curious if they have changed the xenomorphs from when they first found them

    • @GrimmShadowsII

      I'll be honest; I've really never noticed any hints that the Yautja had anything to do with the Xenomorph development, maybe in some comic I haven't read but I'm not sure how canon they are to anything else. I think that they found the Xenos worthy prey like they did humans.

    I always found it ridiculous that the xenomorph grew from it's immediate post-birth size to an 8 foot tall adult in such an extremely short period, and also whilst not consuming anything in the interim. It can't be a case of the newborn alien being far denser than it's adult form, therefore increasing it's volume, but not it's mass. That would make the incubation host incapable of walking while carrying that level of extra mass. Also, that mass would have to be transmutated from the host's body, which does not exceed that of the xenomorph.

      It's just matter of how much are you willing to suspend your belief. It could easily be explained away with explanations such as, their bodily functions use the molecular acid, if their metabolism used it, basically any material source would suffice. Metabolism separates the useful molecules from un-useful ones and rapid growth shall begin. Energy source shall be any heat.
