China doesn't like some tropes used in horror games. Like ghosts/undead or mysticism, I don't know. They'll just ban the content containing it. Check why Pirates of the Caribbean was banned back then.
The idea that you can't enjoy average to good games anymore because you've played a really good one is stupid. It's like thinking you can't eat your own cooking anymore because you went to an expensive restaurant once. Appreciate everything for what it is, don't expect everything to live up to the few top tier products that made it through survivorship bias. I'm still gonna enjoy a Jack in the Box Taco no matter what else I've eaten. And I'm still gonna enjoy a pretty good game, even if I've played better. If you can't do that, its a you problem.
Your simile is not entirely correct. Your own food costs $8, an expensive restaurant costs $100. Most of these games in question are all the same price. So if we can get Elden Ring for $60, why should we enjoy Star Wars Outlaws for $70? Other than that, i agree to some extent. A game should be judged on it's own merits, but when you know what can be done, it's hard sometimes.
Why would it be stupid ? If i'm going to spend time on a game, i want it to be as fun as possible. The cooking argument is completely bollocks because: 1- you litteraly need food to survive 2- Cooking your own food is much cheaper Also there's a difference between appreciating a good game ( that isn't necessarily on par with the best you've played), and playing an average game. I'd rather re-play a game that i love a million times than play a mediocre one that i'll forget the minute i finish it
I think the attack animations are fine, it's less flashy because i think they want to go for more realism with this setting and that kind of sword fighting style, what is good tho is that you can really see the body parts react relative to what limbs he hits, which is good detail on that
Chinese and Koreans have been absolutely killing it lately. Games, handheld game consoles, music, food, movies, everything. Nothing but love for them and if they'll free us from the mediocrity the west has been pushing on us for years, I'll personally roll the red carpet out for them. They just need to work on the camera and the animation IMO. At least that’s the minimum they need to fix. Maybe zooming out the camera when the bosses are bigger or go up. They did so that at one point in this video.

The fact that wukong raised the bar so high for chinese game, this game looks very clunky. The animation seemed very rough and lose a couple of frames.
I do hope that the devs takes in the criticism for the gameplay and animation here and improves it. When you look at the most popular games out of China, they're absolutely fantastic in terms of gameplay. So this studio does need to step it up. Everything else looks solid though. Maybe they should get some martial artists for the combat moves like what Game Science did for Wukong and what S-Game did for Phantom Blade Zero.
After Wukong, these more standard Souls-like clones are so uninspired... Asmon's right, the bar has been raised. This one doesn't look as compelling when it comes to combat.
Tbh BM: Wukong is good but it isn't THAT good, at least when considering Soulsbornes/Souls-likes. Like, it didn't set that much hype and make me replay it many times like Lies of P did for example, or how much awe DS3, Elden Ring and Sekiro had. The game IS pretty good all things considered and the story is great when you pay attention and try to learn more about the lore of JttW, but it felt like a repetitive slog sometimes. I easily got bored of the staff moveset, and I tried the spears but I think there's only 2 (one gotten pretty early and the other is Erlang's) and both get outclassed stat and passive wise. I tried many playstyles and builds too, but I think what the game lacks is just that: diverse movesets. I think all 4 stances should have an unique basic moveset and not just different heavy/charged attacks, and then double those on the spear weapons too. The boss fights were amazing in general tho; I literally died on purpose sometimes just to do them again. I still grinded til 342 (I'm kind of a masochist) and got all armors and weapons (I think), so I did get value out of it.

Its almost like wukong is very popular thing in the east, so damn popular, that he is incorporated in a lot of westerns things too. Its such a mistery why this game has a statue of wukong.....
Everything about the game looks promising, its just that the very core of it all, the combat, really needs to be done well. Its cool tho, almost seems genshin impact esc. with the character swapping and elemental powers, just minus everything that makes genshin bad. No gacha, **POTENTIAL** for actually engaging, technical, and difficult combat, no gacha, enemies that can actually be a threat to you, no gacha, and story-progression based unlocking of characters, AKA: bo gacha!
I disagree with the combat animations. If you distill the combat so that everything is perfectly visible with a human reaction window, it gets boring and safe really fast. With attacks coming outside of the screen, you have to infer information, and with attacks that are too fast to react, you need to predict and read the overall flow (but it depends on how good the design is). Besides, many follow-up attacks in Sekiro were unreactable so you had to know the rhythm. The combat animations feel a bit flat and repetitive though. Setting looks intriguing.
American, European, and some Japanese games started going woke and losing millions of dollars by trying to appease the non-existent "modern audience", so China, Korea, and smarter Japanese companies in and said "hold our beers!"
The parry systems in these games are better than Elden Ring I think. Stellar Blade is a perfect example of what I mean. The timing window isn't just literally one frame. Yes, that may mean you're better if you can 1F parry, but that doesn't make it "fun". When you know you can successfully parry 80% of incoming attacks, that's when it's a fun experience. No stamina gauge also increases that experience.
Sad that this very early build of this game is leaps and bounds better than 90% of the fully released games made by US developers. This is the product of a studio focusing solely on the game vs a studio focusing on pandering people that don’t even play video games
If they make each character have a different playstyle and defense mechanic they could be onto something The 1st character being better at parrying and the 2nd one being quicker and better at dodging Etc

China honestly has a lot of really great game developers and artists. The only problem is that so many of them get thrown into the pipeline of big corporations, like Tencent, and chewed up and used to make over monetized f2p games. I've seen what some of China's indie dev's have been capable of and it can honestly be pretty amazing, its just sad that so many of them never really get to see the light of day.
Why did he start using the frame-by-frame analysis all of a sudden with every game? Is that really what matters? I thought graphics don't matter as long as the game is good? So many good games have more severe flaws when it comes to animations and graphics and somehow it is an issue now. Cmon, it seems cringe.
It's becaue of AC shadows analysis. He saw that people like nitpicking. He forgot that this nitpicking is only valid when you analyse the game near it's release, not from alpha-footage.
lets see how long it takes until western game studios realise that the game is what matters, the combat, the fun, the adrenaline, the replayability, the passion should be to make games for the sake of making great games. everything else is a minuscule factor to the success of a game. fkin dei, inclusivity, etc is fine to be included in a game if it actually adds something to the game itself. But it shouldn't be the highlight of the game, certainly not the entire game itself
The real problem is that if today gaming was like 15 years ago gaming, this would be a solid 6-7 game. With the landscape nowadays it's probably approaching 8-9.
This has nothing to do with the video but I’m trying to decide which career field to go into. I’m between either Electrican or Accountant. If anyone knows which career has the most earning potential as well as career progression im interested to know.
I am perfectly ok with the market being saturated with Elden Ring clones. As long as developers focus on good games and give the middle finger to woke trash I will continue to support newer games.

Perfect! 🔥
Tbh even bad games could be fun sometimes u just need to be more mind open to this games and know your expectation
I think for most is about time, no a lot of time, and there is a lot of good games, so why waste time on bad games?
Why would it be stupid ? If i'm going to spend time on a game, i want it to be as fun as possible. The cooking argument is completely bollocks because: 1- you litteraly need food to survive
2- Cooking your own food is much cheaper
Also there's a difference between appreciating a good game ( that isn't necessarily on par with the best you've played), and playing an average game.

No gacha, **POTENTIAL** for actually engaging, technical, and difficult combat, no gacha, enemies that can actually be a threat to you, no gacha, and story-progression based unlocking of characters, AKA: bo gacha!
Western games are done for. Until they unwoke themselves.

So many good games have more severe flaws when it comes to animations and graphics and somehow it is an issue now. Cmon, it seems cringe.
Content, bro.
I can find so many fault in elden ring too if I use this method haha but it's doesn't no matter much, these games are good
It's becaue of AC shadows analysis. He saw that people like nitpicking. He forgot that this nitpicking is only valid when you analyse the game near it's release, not from alpha-footage.
asmongold's eye brow talks first before he actually talks 😂
Another good chinese game, Ubislop is fucked
Funny how everyone is hating on ac: shadows but settle for a mediocre game at best like this.
Asmon literally going frame by frame to find a flaw in games
Holy nitpick
The parry is like enotria : no feedback and pretty useless
lets see how long it takes until western game studios realise that the game is what matters, the combat, the fun, the adrenaline, the replayability, the passion should be to make games for the sake of making great games. everything else is a minuscule factor to the success of a game. fkin dei, inclusivity, etc is fine to be included in a game if it actually adds something to the game itself. But it shouldn't be the highlight of the game, certainly not the entire game itself
The real problem is that if today gaming was like 15 years ago gaming, this would be a solid 6-7 game.
With the landscape nowadays it's probably approaching 8-9.
its 8-9 but then elden ring and wukong are 12-13
This has nothing to do with the video but I’m trying to decide which career field to go into. I’m between either Electrican or Accountant. If anyone knows which career has the most earning potential as well as career progression im interested to know.
I am perfectly ok with the market being saturated with Elden Ring clones. As long as developers focus on good games and give the middle finger to woke trash I will continue to support newer games.
to be fair some of the animations were a little off camera, but in games like these you never can only rely on what you see, you have to notice the sound queues as well
People want to make a ''souls like'' but just put 100 of the same enemies to a path to a boss, WOW SOULS LIKE AHA JAPANESE STUUFF SO GOOOD, just stop it, just like wukong hit the same guys 15 times each and get to the boss HAHA 10/10 Game
I would try it, but doesn't look like I can customise my character to be a trans person with bottom scars. It's a hard pass for me.
I can't make a male non-binary she/her either. A hard pass for sure.
It's funny to me watching people praise these Chinese games while missing the new pattern. The souls like format is the new version of Chinese bloat ware. They are just making rip offs of something that was successful in the west. The ironic thing is, it's still better then the current gaming industry.
Literally everyone and their dog are making a "ripoff" popular thing in hopes to catch the audience. Also taking in good ideas and mechanics is just logical, it is action combat game, why wouldnt it have parry and other things. *And there are skills, character swap, companion commads btw.* Like if they make a racing game its NFS ripoff? And if they make it more arcade its mario cart copy then? Be realistic please

Welcome to the planet earth. This has been happening all over the world since the invention of fire and the wheel. You’re not making a very profound statement here.
@@RichardCheny how does one invent fire?
@SWBstrong No actually this is quite a current thing. Most inventions were localised. Many more were reinvented and forgotten. What you're trying to do is reletivise is the fact that fundamentals of global civilization were based in one center and inventions are coming steadily from one side.
Elden Ring has created a cult around its lore. Now that these new games are catching up in terms of gameplay, they need serious lore and will be on par.
This game looks cool, will try it 🔥
I wish I was able to make money on RUclips and play games all day. Instead I have to work all night for 12-14 hours moving thousands of pounds of frozen and dry foods while driving them to different locations in trucks. Online gamers and RUclipsrs have life on easy mode.
7:05 Reminds me of Superman 4 where they just let him have any power that was required for the given situation so when a building got knocked down Superman was able to just rewind the damage so all the bricks when back into place.
