I wonder how the IFB would work with a Libero on Support out wide in a 3/5 at the back system, where the IFB tucks in to the space the Libero vacated to move forward
Love your videos. Wondering if you would do a Role Explanation for the BWM in Def Mid role. I cannot seem to get the best out of that role. I may need some help. Haha. Keep doing what you doing. Loving the content.
I find it doesn't work as well as it probably should, even as Man City who are pretty much the poster boys for that style of play. I play with the Lib, a CD on COV and a couple of IFBs first half and the team does this well (----), I change 2nd half to a couple of CDs on COV, regular FBs and a HB ahead, and the team plays so much better (----------------). You still get that 3 at the back shape, just with a different combination of positions. The 2 centre backs either side will also get forward like wide centre backs would if you're dominating, or one will while the other stays back, depending on what side the ball is. It could just be that I need to be looking at team instructions and the other roles in the team to make the Lib/IFB thing work; combinations of roles do seem to be the key in my experience. I found the same thing a few years ago when I got bored of 442 all the time but couldn't make 433 work. Changing the combinations of roles together with some individual instructions eventually did the trick.
In previous iterations I've always used two BPDs on def with a DM (half back) on def in front of them...The idea being that when a full back bombs on its his job to drop back into defence... GK - sweeper (def) then I have very attacking complete full backs in the same line as the DM, a Box to box player and two wingers on support. AMC and complete/advanced forward on attack for 4 attacking roles, 3 support and 4 defend. The actual formation in 2-3-1-3-1...it's footballing perfection 😂 I remember winning the Prem and CL with Margate!
This has me wondering if when playing a back three one could successfully retrain a shorter DM to play as a libero and get away with sacrificing ideal defensive traits in favor of better technicals since he'd have two big boys on either side of him.
@@maximummomo8210 Gullit was an attacker / attacking midfielder. Rijkaard played in front of the defense. Gullit played as a sweeper in Chelsea only for a short period, as it did not work out great.
doesnt is work better if you switch the cm side? so that the libero doesnt get in the way of the cm on defend? i feel like using either the libero on the left with the ifb on the left and cb on the right with wb att on the right while switching the winger and wp is better for creating space.
@@TheManagersSeat but when i watched your clips the libero walked straight into the cm instead of one of them moving left or right to make space. Idk but for possession i think switching them creates more passing options. Also this year shadow striker and striker will be overpowered since they will not stay in the same space all the time. Imagine a trequartista with a shadow striker combo ❤️
Looks like the CM-D is slower to react positionally than the Libero - is this attribute-led (positioning, off the ball), or the roles clashing? I'm thinking a carrilero would be a good pairing for the Lib also.
I've noticed more prominent Mezzala movement when on attack when having an inverted attacker, also when used with other roles (defensive) such as IWB and BWM on defend.
Harry Maguire one of the best liberos out there
Love it. Appreciate the look at how it works/maybe doesn't work in LLM

Try it. Loads of combos look like they can work

I'll try take a look soon. It's a tough one to crack I agree
I've used the libero on support with two inverted fullbacks and a center back on defend in wrexham
Going to try it in my Everton save that I carried over to fm24
Awesome explanation dude. Now I do understand this role and its synergy with inverted defender on its side. Thanks a lot
Casemiro fits perfect in the role
great video, whats the skin you use stinger ?
Currently this is the TCS Skin buddy. It's on the SI Forums or Twitter

Let us know if you try it this year

I honestly don't see how that wouldn't work. Ruud Gullit springs to mind.
@@TheManagersSeat You mean Rijkaard?
@@whothehellishoochRijkaard was tall. Gullit played as a 6 at times and would dribble the ball forward from the back line

Gullit played as a sweeper in Chelsea only for a short period, as it did not work out great.
Have they removed the libero on attack? I know its not popular but was one of my favourites to play around
You won't need it

Loads of ways to use it. Players move more intelligently so the CMD moved over when he had to

Could be role clash yeah I agree. Lots to explore with this role so will be fun to find out. I like your thinking with the carrilero
Disappointed that you didn't show us the Libero in a back 5 with wing backs.
Would be interested to see how this works with a half back and what changes they've made to that role this year
Me too, gonna have a blast with it

Nice, looking forward to giving a few combos a try
Definitely some player roles to try this year. De Vrij is pronounced de Fry in English btw.
