    With this state-of-the-art facility being the first of it's kind in the English-speaking Caribbean and the first of it's kind in Western Jamaica, we present to you, the Western Adolescent & Paediatric Hospital; a Children's Hospital! This new Hospital will unseat the venerable Bustamante Hospital for Children as being the only one of its kind Jamaica and in the Diaspora, on a whole.
    This Hospital is a welcomed addition to the plethora of medical facilities in Western Jamaica, and what makes it even more special is that it will made specifically for children, ranging from newborn to age 18. We are excited to have learnt about this development. We heard about it a few years ago, but uncertain as to when it would be built or where the location would have been. We caught sight of this mega structure whilst capturing another area in Montego Bay. We are thrilled to present this new mega development and even more excited about how far along in the process of making this a reality, they have gotten.
    In this video, we explore the facility and provide information about it's development and proposed opening date. We also cover the Cornwall Regional Hospital and share information about the rehabilitative work that is being carried out to get this once great Hospital back to being fully operational and fully functional.

      Montego Bay is the de facto capital city of Western Jamaica/the county of Cornwall (which includes St. Elizabeth which is wrongly placed with Mandeville in the smaller Central Health Authority). This may change when Highway 2000 is built out to directly link St. Bess with Montego Bay.

      @@DronesEyeViewJamaica is a relatively poor third world economy, thus there needs to be a COST-EFFECTIVE REGIONAL approach to such mega projects as the Cornwall Regional Hospital/Western Jamaica Children Hospital.
      The videographer needs to correct his error in stating that the Western Jamaica Children Hospital is seven floors when it's an eight storey structure. ..

      @@diannetgoldingfrankson2105both political parties have been holding back Jamaica by not properly decentralization central government to empower the parish councils via their (unused) county configurations to do a better job of maintaining public infrastructure (like the Cornwall COUNTY Hospital) in a more timely manner than is possible from Kingston (which is hogging all the island's taxes and best government planning jobs)...to the disadvantage of the equitable development of rural Jamaica. Another example of how sluggishly costly central government based maintenance of community infrastructure can be can be seen in the slow to non existent repair of the Catherine Hall Stadium in Mobay...not to mention the inability of central government to properly repair the island's rural and residential roads and sidewalks in a tax saving timely manner.

      I vote this the most ridiculous comment of all times. Aww, so we should destroy a perfectly good building rather than upgrade it and refurbish it. Next time your house needs some minor repairs, just bruk it down and rebuild a new one, instead.

      Go back under the rock u came from.

    • @garfieldwhittaker944
      @garfieldwhittaker944 8 месяцев назад

      No....to build a whole new 10 storey hospital building from scratch would be far more expensive than to refurbish the current structure.
      But here is an added point about why the CRH fell into disrepair. As the name suggests the facility is a county wide one which means that it should be managed by a county based government in the form of a fiscally and technically empowered regional county council (run by a board of municipal mayor who collectively oversee a county General Fund designed to MAINTAIN such public infrastructure as county hospitals, schools, rural/residential roads and sidewalks, engage in the timely collection 8f garbage/cleaning of urban drains and rural gullies, as well as the upkeep of public parks/beaches and community sports facilities (like the long standing dilapidated Catherine Hall Stadium.
      W
      Jamaica is already spending $billions on maintaining an underutilized parish council based local government system so why not empower them collectively along their county configuration to do more for the😅immediate communities (independently of central government-thus DECOLONIZING/decentralizating the island's monarchy based UNITARY structure of excessively centralized local government system????
