It's interesting how the government and hotel chains can find the money to build a new road specifically for a hotel and tourists, yet they can't fix the existing roads to benefit the island's residents.

We stopped at Tropical Bay last November and had a venture down to Negril. We preferred the pools at the Negril but Riu seems to prefer the generic style pools at all their properties these days. Will be interesting seeing the end result. One question is what happens to the staff when these refurbs are taking place? On a side note we’re back in Negril in 8 weeks time stopping at the Azul Hotel. Love the beach, scenery and the fantastic warm and friendly people.

When will renovations be finished?

So glad they are doing renovations, one reason why I avoided this hotel because the rooms are so outdated. I hope they copy the new Aquarelle in Falmouth design colors and install elevators. Uniquely and fun designed pools would be a great. I look forward to having my mind changed from the Royalton Negril as I am looking to book July 2025. Thanks for the update!

We were there in April 2024, already booked to come back March 2025. Can't wait to see the changes in person! We love Jamaica!

Well needed repairs. I stayed there in June 2023 and was very disappointed. The rooms and furnitures were run down. Even the bed linens were disgusting. I did enjoy the food.

I heard about these renos a Riu. Thanks for sharing. Some extensive work but the Riu team don't joke when it comes to delivery timing.

Guarantee they ruin it with boring square pools like they did Riu Montego Bay

Such big houses I am curious are they all occupied year round by big families or are the rented out to several individuals seem insane to have a 10 bedroom house with 5 or six people living there or having to spend months abroad to pay for maintenance not much land space around for a vegetable garden 🤷🏽‍♀️ Seems a waste but each his own as we know big houses in Jamaica are suppose to be a sign of wealth so you’ll get that much needed respect I guess

What's more impressive to me, is calculating the material and layout plans❤ it looks really good, but the entrance road could be a little bit wider...

A lot of people are going to be very disappointed in the beach. It just does not look that appealing, as I said before, in another video they have to bring in a lot more of the white sand, especially around those over the water bungalows.

Bahia is planning another phase to there hotel too ...was in the news recently.

Bahia is a larger hotel with over 1300 rooms... Princess will be nicer as it's a new hotel ... hopefully when rates comes within my range I will be able to visit .

Any updates on both the Unico and Pinnacle projects...?
