When they targeted Manchester, all I could think was "they're not the brightest crayons in the box, are they?" They tried to carry out a terror attack on Glasgow airport. I think the man interviewed immediately after the incident summed it up beautifully. When asked if he had a message for terrorists, he said "Don't come here, or we'll set right about ye." And then they went for Manchester. It's not a good idea to target the working classes in the UK. They've had centuries of being disrespected and downtrodden, so they know how to fight back. And they will. They've already lived through far worse. They're not scared of some twat with a death wish.
That person tweeting about the Romanian swearing sounds like the woman in America who reported a middle-eastern man on a plane because he was doing maths on a notebook and she thought it was a terror plot. LOL
That last one as someone from Adams country (Australia) and someone who has family in the uk (Welsh and a sprinkling of Scottish on my mums side) that is what I love to hear
We had an unexploded ww2 bomb across the road from us a few months back. We're joking about sending someone over with some wire cutters. Super disappointed cause they diffused it instead of blew it up.
It's simple, some people don't believe it was a terrorist attack, but war retaliation for what UK did to his country, his friends and relatives there. Calling him a terrorist when your "freely elected" government literally turned his country into rubble and terrorist shithole, is plainly hypocrisy. Saying stuff like "we ain't scared" is just plainly stupid and shows you live in a bubble, what about people in Libya? They probably are scared, but it's ok since they can just wash blood off the streets and open hotels I guess?! And everyone in the UK is at fault - you live in democracy where "majority" decides what to do - accept the consequences.
So your just going to keep running with the whole hate thing. It aint working for anyone, a change of tactic is called for, but if you want to not bother and let violence, hate, fear, and anger rule your world - I can't stop you. By the way I don't live in the UK, I live in a country actively opposed to the stupidity brought about by war and dipstick fundamentalists. You might want to do somthing about your prejudice nature or to quote the old adage - assumptions make an ass of, you and me.
I do. And that was more of a general `you` not pointing at you directly. I'm not the one calling the guy who probably lost everything due to government I took part in electing - a terrorist (yes I live in UK, and yes I believe I'm at fault for what happened to Libya like everyone else here, not trying to make myself a special case here). Just stating the hypocrisy there, if he's a terrorist then what does it make British public - genocidal maniacs? Western governments loves spreading violence, hate and fear by starting wars in places where they have no clue about culture or social structure just to force their views on people - but you think it's me that wants to live in that world.
Do somthing productive then. Stop being a keyboard warrior. Unless we actually engage in the process it will carry on, wagging fingers and blaming the other is just not constructive - the fact you engaged with me proves you are more than capable. Things like what is Preston are helping, make change locally, get involved turn people around. Good luck with it, Kia Kaha!
Haha, I live in a country where people throw abuses at me because of my nationality, I really only hope to be able to sell my house and leave this country before Brexit, I don't want to help this society nor do I consider myself part of it since a lot of people don't consider me a part of it. I really wish no immigrant in this country will be treated by local NHS and law enforcement the way I was. And as far as I know, no one stops me from expressing my opinion online, so that's something.
Oh boy, that Doctor Who rant didn't age well. Because she was shit, and the writing (which was already mediocre) went through the fucking floor because they thought ethnic/gender box ticking was enough to support an entire season. And no, I'm not saying this as someone who was opposed to the idea of a female doctor, I was, in fact, cautiously optimistic and had hope it might open the door to some mature and interesting script writing, a breath of fresh air and an opportunity to do something clever. But nope, what we got was twitter-level social commentary aimed at the lowest common hard-left denominator (something I ALSO say as an individual whose views would be considered "liberal left", though I'm loathe to use these labels) and writing that would make even a novice fan-fiction author blush. Basically, people were anxious that the show would devolve into sanctimonious left-wing punditry at the expense of writing quality, not just some hilariously strained caricature of misogyny that Adam and everyone in media made it out to be. I shared a little of that concern too, but as stated above, was cautiously optimistic. Unfortunately, it turned out everyone's fears were ENTIRELY justified, (some of) their complaints vindicated, and everyone who tried to play it off like right-wing ass backwards misogynistic hysteria now look like complete halfwits in hindsight.
I didn't like the idea of the female doctor initially because I suspected a cynical and/or ideological motivation behind it rather than a creative one. Put that aside to give it a chance, after all it's easy to see how given some strong writing and directing, a female Dr Who could be very interesting, refreshing even. _IF_ handled correctly. Sad to say, I think my initial skepticism might have had a ring of truth to it, judging by how bad it turned out to be and how the media outlets, so in love with the "progressive" angle, couldn't do anything but sing it's imaginary praises. Then there was that move to cancel the shows christmas special tradition for some misguided attempt at being "woke". I don't even like Christmas as a holiday and that spineless attempt at getting brownie points with the SJW crowd at the expense of it's own identity really irked me. It all adds an unfortunate credence to the initial distrust for the decision making process going on behind the scenes. No one likes to see their favorite media be eaten up by politics to be a vehicle for an ideological movement. It's gross, and understandably breeds resentment. I get what Adam was poking at, there was a lot of nonsense bigotry surrounding that particular story, but I think he sorely missed the mark on this one. From what I've seen, the overwhelming majority of the criticism being painted in broad strokes as senseless antiquated bigotry, has been anything but.
What's your point? They have bombs, therefore we should be scared shitless? More people die in car crashes than terror attacks. 1800 dead in the UK in car crashes, and 36 died in terror attacks in 2017. The year before? Another 1800 in car crashes, and 2 dead in terror attacks (an MP and a prison officer). Yeah they have bombs, but if you're scared of that, you should be fucking petrified anytime you get vaguely close to a dual carriageway...
And what exactly is a tv host supposed to do about the root cause i.e radicalisation? People get radicalised because they're vulnerable- financially or mentally. We need major social reform and more attention and funding for our mental health system. He was focussing on the emotional component of what happened and connecting with people, he was not out to start telling the government to get its shit together. The government's been told, the government doesn't care
@@bambino9235 It has little or nothing to do with financial vulnerability, mental health or social reform. Blaming the government is such a cop out. If you want to solve the problem you need to stop avoiding the route cause, in other words Islam.
"A couple of series ago" Yes, we disagreed then, and we disagree with it now. Nobody would like strong female characters such as The Inquisitor, Susan, The Rani or Romana coming back as male.
Everybody of which is concerned about the BBC pushing a far left agenda onto a sci fi show that has been loved for 50+ years. It's always Nu Who fans that love this change, what if we saw the time lord from The War Games or the Time Lord from Planet of the Spiders come back as female? It's jarring and unnecessary, we've had strong female leads in Doctor Who, I don't understand why changing the gender is progressive, personally, I believe the reverse is true. It shows creators don't care enough to write an intruiging female character so they just swap.
Nobody freaked out about The Master changing gender. People are freaked out about The Doctor changing because they like to pick and choose the battles. That's it.
timelords regenerate. No one said that all male timelords would always regenerate into the same gender. Its a sci fi show about an alien with two hearts that travels through time in a police box that is bigger on the inside and said alien can change age and appearence and your moaning that turning female is wrong or stupid.Just about anything can happen in this show and thats the thing that just goes too far?.I stopped watching because the show started breaking its own rules the big one being going beyond the allocated regenerations but the doctor becomes a whole new person when he, she regenerates .People change gender in real life .Animals do it but a fictional time travelling alien in a magic police box thats too much?
no such thing as a 'gender wage gap' and people were upset not from her being a women but that the doctor was inherently a masculine character and it would end up looking forced and contrived to see a woman.
Right, love Adam and all, but this video rages me. If your not a fan of Doctor Who, don't comment. The fact that he calls people who have grow up with a male Doctor 'the sort of people who disagree with female doctors in general' is outright disgusting. How dare he claim that fans are like that. Some just wanted their favourite man who flies around the universe to stay a man. The main reason is because of Moffats writing of women in my opinion.
Moffat left the show though, how is he relevant? I'm a Doctor Who fan and I'm absolutely fine with a female Doctor. Personally I was gunning for Idris Elba, but Whittaker has proven excellent (Chibnall less so...) and really, who cares what gender the Doctor is?
Why not watch the series on All 4? goo.gl/Ej34Ri

Fairly sure that would require a TV license. RUclips doesn't.
