    You could replace that rusted foot well with the metal from the window cut out.

      I used the fiberglass that comes with the rust repair kit, worked great!

      @@LeaveHerWild Awesome. Being that it is a flat and horizontal surface, you will probably have better success than I did. I used fiberglass on a cab corner after grinding away the rust down to bare metal, prepped and treated it with $ por15 rust inhibitor. It turned out great but it didn't take long and the fiberglass resin and chop delaminated from the metal. What shocked me most was the rust staining that was already visible under the inhibitor and the rust staining made its way to the surface of the inhibitor. Do you think Front mudflaps may help?

    Well, it's good that the rain & snow is helping you located all the leaks! It's also good that you have the inside removed enough to see where the water is seeping. You'll fix them all in time.

    Perhaps use a heat gun or hair dryer, to get at the leaks, then Seal them up , then that silver very sticky tape mite be a idea right over the seams, especially if you haven't stopped the leaking totally, keep up the good work .

    Job well done Jaylena. I mentioned having rust cut out of my slider bottom corner, by the drain hole recently. It certainly can be a drain and a considerable pain on the bank account my gosh!! 😊

    I definitely got to eventually get mine done sometime in the near future... awesome job Jaylena so happy with the outcome and watching your video contents on this build does have some good points, when doing a van and or bus build, it's always good to get all needed taken care of before actually getting into any major builds, especially rust, etc to get repaired so it benefits the life of the vehicle too, prep and fix now so would not have to take all apart eventually and find worse issues. Great job and contents 😊👍

I know pple that would skip that part n than cry “why me” when problems arise. I love the ice maker feature on that bluetti!!! I’m an ice addict. Always have a glass full nearby so this is right up my alley!!!! Can’t wait to see your vision come to life. It’s been amazing to see your building skills grow with each build. I find the time frame in which you show your van conversion to be slightly confusing. One episode shows you installing a window and completing the installation and the next day you are fixing leaks but the van does not have the window .Suggest more order to your videos .

    • @LeaveHerWild
      @LeaveHerWild  6 месяцев назад +2

      There’s a lot going on in this video. I started it before the window and had to wait a lot for each step of the rust prevention. So while waiting I worked on other projects, the window being one. Then I finished after the window.

      Like the rest of us watching this video, including myself, you were able to work that out for yourself. The necessity of pointing it out, knowing the situation Jaylena is working in, is simply being petty. You do you.

    After you reseal the seams on the top. Consider using one of the elastoseal paint products over the top of the resealed seams for added protection. I hear Silver Seal works really good on RV's. The silver is also supposed to reflect heat and keep the inside cooler. Unless they're on top of the van, noone should be able to see the silver.
