@@STP43FAN1He had a few good playoff games here and there (shoutout to the 09 game vs Dallas), but his playoff career after Holmgren left wasn’t that great.
This is one of the biggest playoff upsets I've seen. I didn't see this coming, especially with how the Falcons backed into the playoffs. Also the Packers never recaptured the old magic at Lambeau at the playoffs after this game.
Yep even the one season Rodgers led the Packers to the title they didn't even get a chance to play 1 single game in Lambeau. Gone are the days of fearing the trip to Green Bay. Now you get warm weather teams like the Niners and Buccaneers kicking the Packers asses in the cold.
This would mark -The first outdoor playoff win for the Falcons since 1978 -The first of only two career playoff wins for Michael Vick -The last career head coaching win for Dan Reeves in the playoffs -The first-ever home playoff loss for the Packers
What made this upset all the more shocking was that a dome team from the deep South who plays at least half their games in domes or warm weather came into the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field and blew out the Packers.
Packers were done in this game as soon as soon as they tried to call a slow developing run play on 4th and goal from the 2. Dont know why you wouldn’t throw the ball in that situation
I can imagine how much money was lost in Vegas from this game. The Falcons were huge underdogs and pulled off this upset. So much money had to have been lost by the bookies in Vegas from this lol.
Kids today will never understand just how unthinkable it was for the Packers to lose a home playoff game.
esp. considering they beat better teams than THIS Falcons team
I'm 35..I remember when the Packers were really good in 1996 and 1997..
Yes but on the other hand Favre by then had begun establishing that no he wasn’t that good a playoff quarterback

Just like the Bills till the Jags ended it

What a set of ridiculous plays from Michael Vick
Man I miss Stuart Scott
Forgot Eric Metcalf was still playing by this point.
These were exciting times when we had vick...
Wade Phillips the defensive guru
Michael Vick was unstoppable and untouchable!!!
I'm a lifelong Packer fan, and I don't remember Eric Metcalf on the team.
2:28 "Two tears in a bucket, so I said Duckett." Man I miss Stu Scott.
To think this could have been the Saints
I remember watching this ass whipping and being surprised how easily the falcons beat the Packers.

First home playoff loss for the packers
Blew my mind at the time. Still blows my mind to this day even knowing that they had a stretch where they missed the playoffs
And it came to a dome team.
2002 Vick is why you can’t base and rate QB’s just on raw numbers. Brian Griese had better stats that year, but lacked the IT Factor
Brian Griese also had the better head coach, scheme, and running game.

And also the best line in the League in 1999

Not to mention pro bowl recievers like rod smith and Ed mccaffrey as well as HOF TE Shannon Sharpe

@Steve Kovaleski he said playoff win not overall wins.
Vick’s second career playoff victory was against the 2004 Saint Louis Rams 🐏

Vick didn’t even have 200 total yards of offense, but it felt like he had 400
Shawn Jefferson- Moving On Up
Perfectly encapsulates the way the Packers faded towards the end. Too many injuries and the team couldn't keep up with Vick this time.
Packers got killed by Jets at Jets late in 2002 season..🏈✳🏟
@@fiesta061000 Yeah but the Packers had nothing to play for while the Jets had everything to play for
@@mikeyoungblood1642 Nothing to play for? If GB beat the Jets, they’re the NFC 1 seed
RIP Keion Carpenter...he had a hell of a game with 2 INTs
Falcons avenged their week 1 regular season loss.
Of all the teams to end the Lambeau streak- not the Niners, not Landry’s Cowboys, THIS Falcons team which was basically Michael Vick and Warrick Dunn
GOAT defensive coordinator also had something to do with it
That Defense was pretty good
But it was vick
Falcons shock Green Bay on the frozen tundra
I remember as a young lad this feeling like a huge deal
Michael Vick- as cool as the other side of the pillow
Packers just lost all momentum by not getting that 1-seed or a 2-seed after losing that week 17 game against the Jets.
And the Falcons were better than their 9-6-1 record would indicate and it showed in this game.
@@flames24lightning And the Packers were worse than their 12-4 record would indicate.
The way they played that season, they were more of a 9-7 team.
@@flames24lightning Outside of the 2 Bucs games, their other 4 losses were competitive
And the legacy of Packers choking in the playoffs begins!!
Imagine if this Mike Vick played in today’s NFL where you cannot hit the QBs like Vick got hit back in 2002…
Packers first home playoff loss
Dan Reeves still has some of that old playoff magic
People always kill us about the 28-3 but they don't give us our respect when we do something good we made history 😂😂😂
Green Bay is 7-7 in the playoffs at Lambeau starting with this game
Yeah I think this game shattered the so called Lambeau Mystique.
See rodgers didn't corner the market on underperforming when it matters most for green bay.
Where do you think he learned it from?
I don't know these Michael Vick and Darren Sharper guys but they seem like class acts
Packers were done in this game as soon as soon as they tried to call a slow developing run play on 4th and goal from the 2. Dont know why you wouldn’t throw the ball in that situation
The Favre Packers never really had a defense worth something after that second super bowl
I remember watching this game at my girlfriend house, I was surprised to see the Packers lose to a Dome team at home.
The game that shattered the mystique of Brett Favre.
1:40 why couldn’t the packers coach challenge that call?
Bills legend Keion Carpenter.

What a shocker I mean Vick was sick and all but man the Packers just didn't show up.
I will never forget that game being a falcon fan its one of the few highlights and games I can look back and enjoy
I was in the 5th grade for the 1998 season..The ATL Falcons won the NFC in 1998 ⁉⬛🏈🌇
What an upset! Nobody had the Falcons winning unless you were a Falcon's fan. It was Vick's second year too.
