The poorer Filipinos tend to spend for today and there is a good reason. From birth they are raised to be loyal to the family above all else. If they save money it is a waste of time. Mama or Papa needs medicine, cousin Juan needs school supplies, the family needs PhilHealth coverage, cousin Loopa is pregnant, Aunt Edith needs her house repaired, nephew Roman has had a motorcycle accident, etc. If you spend it they can't take it from you. Kind of like taxation in the West. Why should I work hard and save money just to have it transferred to someone else who "needs" it through taxation? In the Philippines the govt doesn't tax you , the family does.
@@mike.p.1400 I doubt they send it all back. I know lots of Filipinos that work in Canada and they send a portion back. They need to survive in the west so they will keep what they need and most live together to save money.
@@brianbaxter3913 ok. I stand corrected. I should not have said ALL. The point I’m trying to make is. They should take care of themselves as much as they can. So they can be prosperous and end the cycle of poverty in the Philippines
Easter is a important holiday in Philippines they're Catholic And family is another one Unfortunately I will be spending Easter in Taiwan maybe I will have a oyster omelette for my eggs Good video salamat adios
I completely agree with you. Unlike the majority of the Filipinos,..if I couldn't afford to travel for the holidays to visit family and so on,...I certainly wouldn't. In my opinion, I think that "paying the bills" should be the priority. Thanks for a great video and keep up the great 👍 work.
The mall is very nice !watching regularly!the Philippines is similar with quality family taking a good look at immediate family usually is a key indicator .my question is are you going to do a road trip later to Sheila home town as I mention very valuable information and well explained best of the best in the p.i. S u tubs!
Unlike Filipino's if I don't have the cash I don't go anywhere or buy things I can't afford. Some get themselves in debt and have a hard time to pay it back when special occasions arise
It is true, the westernization of filipinos is heavily tainted by western movies. The young filipinos who are taught English watch a lot of western movies and are heavily influenced by them. Good video, Paul...Jim
Such interesting contradictions. All the while you were speaking at the mall about the middle and upper class patrons there, I noticed the percentage of overweight people in relation to attractive slim and trim people. The large percentage looked like they hadn't missed a meal in years and were the worst for wear because of it. Then, back at your condo, you elaborate on how the province people will spend well beyond their means to party down with family over the holiday while just yesterday you were explaining how to get your Filipina into credit cards and unsustainable debt. I'm just laughing over the obsurditity that is the Philippines. Old guys go there to hook up with cute skinny waifs who are desperate for a steady diet only to fatten them up and teach them how to make their financial picture worse. 🤪
