Basically "You expected General Scales but it was me, Andross!"

I had the guide for this game, but the one this it did not mention anything about was Andross. So the guide does not spoil the final boss.

I do so love that this theme is a heavily altered remix of Andross' standard and brain form themes from Star Fox 64. Star Fox Adventures starting life as Dinosaur Planet and it being rushed through development before Microsoft bought Rare out meant General Scales didn't get a proper boss fight, but David Wise still did a phenomenal job adapting Andross' boss themes.

Oh god. . . I remember whenever I got to that part in the game, I had to get my dad to play that part for me.

I didn't find out until much later that this game was apparently "bad". I freaking loved it so much as a kid, and I wasn't THAT easy to please even if I was young.
General Scales being completely skipped was bad, yeah, but I loved that Andross came back and feeling that epic feel of continuity in the story from 64. I'm a sucker for reusing villains if they do it in a different enough way.

The year is 2004. Andross was my first experience of rage quitting, breaking my controller ( which took time for me to get a new one ) and he laughs at me at my death but not only that, and also me crying irl. I was 8 years old mkay.

I experienced that quote quite a few times too. Well this was my first Starfox game so it was technically my first ever time facing Andross.
I eventually played Starfox 64 and faced both the Robot version of him and the real version of him and found him easy. Since I knew the gist of how to hurt him (Shooting bombs into his mouth etc)

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE this game, but I was a bit disappointed when it turned out that we DIDNT get to kick Scales's ass in the end. And there was so much build up to it...

TheLittleMerwolf that's what happens when Microsoft buys out a good company and makes them rush out a game that could of been even better then it already is now

Well at least you could beat up the Krazoa God that was manipulating Scales if that makes you happy.

@@xans777 I wonder how the story went exactly, but as far as I know, this is the last game Rare did before Microsoft bought the company. This was more the case of this game being rushed to become full-on Star Fox.

I know the origins of this boss fight's sections, section 1 is where you have to shoot Andross's eyes while he is constantly shooting stufff at you (SNES Starfox/Starwing) and section 2 is where you have to shoot Andross's hands (N64 Starfox 64/Lylat wars) and section 3 is new to Andross, because you have to fire a bomb into Andross's mouth as he is sucking in asteroids, and the final section is based on SF64/LW again, being that you have to shoot Andross's brain continuosly.

The song that symbolizes the end of a long development cycle. First, a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing. Then, a standalone IP named Dinosaur Planet. And finally, Dinosaur Planet ends up with Star Fox shoved into it and Andross literally bolted onto the final boss. The gaming industry's funny that way.

@bombshack1 Doesn't make sense though when you get the second ending and you actually kill him.

@DawnJeagerjaques Yea, the one with the lightfoot and the destroying the A button one. It wasn't as bad when I played it recently but it was ridiculously hard to play when as a kid. It was the only hard part at all besides andross who was semi-challenging.
