I'm 55 and no idea how concerts I've seen, an eff ton; Page and Plant at the Hollywood Bowl and the LA Forum, tons of Dead (and Garcia on Broadway), Blues Traveler in a small bar in Vermont before they broke, Loreena McKennitt, Joe Bonamassa, etc., etc., etc. But I've never seen Billy, and your write-up convinced me. Gotta make this happen.

Bro what the hell. THIS should teach everyone a huge lesson about life. There's billy, in this basement with a bunch of random local "no-names", and all of these cats are WORLD FUCKING CLASS musicians. Its literally insane. The banjo. The guy playing the slide on his lap, I have no idea how he was spitting such fast licks with a technique like that. The mandolin player. I mean, all of them. Just world class chops that take years and years, as well as a certain amount of innate ability, to cultivate. Impressed is an understatement. Such unassuming brilliance.

Truly amazing glimpse in Billy's life before stardom. This had to be close to the time things started to really take off for him. Also, it's very surprising to see a group of such talented musicians at a basement jam.
I have a feeling this could happen anywhere anytime with Billy. I don’t think he cares that he’s well known or not. Just a great musician that’s down to earth.

🤣😂🤣😂 You are funny. Been like that for at least 75 years. Bluegrass became a thing in the 1940s I am sure the music goes a lot farther back than that. Our Irish and Scottish brothers made this great sound. bluegrass was born in the Appalachian Mountains. Every instrument has its roll. This is what real music is. not today's digital stuff. I mean, it's okay if you're into that kind of thing. Hahaha
Everybody takes their turn being the showoff in the room. Being a good musician is often about showing restraint, and only playing what is needed to make the ensemble sound better. Do no harm.
