Just to let you guys know. When you lookup the water park on google maps and view it with satallite view, you can clearly see it's abandoned and not in use. You can literally see the mud and branches and other brown yuck in the pool area.

FWIW, I used to be a lifeguard in a swimming pool back in the 1980s AND I am terrified of heights. The perfect storm came together when I was tasked with cleaning the 5m diving board with a mop. I was absolutely terrified, and I wouldn't let anybody else come up on the board when I was cleaning it (didn't like anybody behind me). I have total respect for anybody who can dive off one.
The water park is probably only open when tourists are scheduled to visit. The happy people enjoying the park were probably ordered to be there. It's a big show for tourists.

They only let foreigners film the few good places so that people like yourself will get the mistaken impression that the country is not so bad. This water park is a tiny respite from a life of misery and only the most privileged in Pyongyang are allowed to go. Most North Koreans will never have access to a place like this.

Apart from this trip being completely fascinating, what I love most about it is that you're showing such a different side to North Korea that I'm sure most people weren't expecting to see. It's definitely changed my perspective (politics aside of course). With everything you see in the news you forget that there are actual people living in the country that are just living their day-to-day life in a way that's not that different from our own.

With everything you see in the news you forget that there are actual people living in the country that are just living their day-to-day life in a way that's not that different from our own.

Anything is possible if you are determined and work hard enough. I used to hitchhike across the United States 20 years ago, and felt like I could do anything after getting to my desired location. I even lived in Hawaii for a winter off little to no money. Your channel has reminded me that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
