Interesting video. Everyone is a little different. I am an older golfer and I grew up playing heavy clubs. So I tend to hit heavier headed drivers better. I like feeling the clubhead at the top of my backswing because I then know where it is. That helps a lot with consistency. I have tried lighter drivers, but I lose drives either right or left. In addition to not feeling the clubhead as much, I think the reason is that the club feels so light that subconsciously I feel I have to swing harder to put more force into the ball. I know, it's probably weird, but like I said, everyone is different.

I hit pause just 30 seconds in to say thank you for doing this review. This is the review that was needed and necessary...not more of the same with the sub 50g shafts and the ultra light grips. Thanks MNG!

The point of the video was to see if there was an increase in speed with the ts1. Which there was. Yet, the less weight made you hit the ball farther left on a regular basis. So if you were being fit for a driver how would you fix that without increasing weight?

The TS1 is set up for a draw I.e toed in slightly. This encouraged the draw rather than the less weight.

Interesting head to head. In the future I would suggest mixing the shots 3 with one club 3 with the next etc. I realize it’s a pain changing shafts but it does take some of the human inconsistency out.

It was interesting to see that you only gained 4 yeards extra distance with the lighter TS1 Head, but your dispersion number more than doubled from 9.1 to 22.8 yards, so I'm not sure that your extra 4 yards was worth it? The increase in dispersion was probably caused by the change in Swing weight.
As you said in the vid changing to a lighter head would change the Swing Weight of the new combo, so to get back to the desired SW you would need to add weight back into the TS1 Head, which takes the head weight of the TS1 back up to the TS2, which sort of balances itself out, doesn't it? Or am I missing something

If you lighten the head, you need to lighten the shaft stiffness too to get proper swing lag.

Mike, that club is for older people & added speed does not mean ball speed is faster. TXG channel just did a comparison video. Swing speed does not increase distance & ball speed. If the club head weight is increased, the smash factor will go up, ball speed up, while the swing speed can decrease. Mass is a major factor in creating energy transfer. This is a law of physics, not an opinion.

Depends on the golfer... As with everything in fitting

@@RCGolf , After building clubs for over 20 years & studying the results from master builders, the accuracy, flight, & ball spin is a direct result of the feel, timing, & hitting the ball in line with the cg. If you saw the results, they showed a big difference in dispersion. My opinion is that yeah some shots were longer but only added to Mike's snap hooks.

Hey Michael. Great content as always! I'd love to see you do this weight test with the Titleist TS3 Driver and going between the STD weight, +2, +4, and +6. Changing the weight rather than the head. It obviously changes swing weight but what would it do to ball speed and smash factor. Been toying with the idea of adding 2 to 4 grams to my TS3. Would love to see what effect it has in test where we can see the numbers.

I believe that adding rear and low weight helps with the MOI, which is a nice thing about the TS3. It's definitely worth trying to see if you hit the ball better.

Why not just make ONE club with a sliding weight, adjustable loft, and removable or replaceable different weight weights? OH, there are those out there! (Wilson Cortex!) C'mon Titleist! This is a marketing ploy, period!

Interesting that the lighter head threw you off for exactly ONE swing 😆

Just curious.... how would the same shaft in different weight versus stiffness compare??
For example, Tensei Orange 50S vs 60R. Would the 50S provided faster speed with better control or would the 60R launches it faster and retains the control??
    Tks!

    The titleist driver is great.
Based on address compared to existing models,
Tseng1 head looks too big and light
Now, the titleist is going to be in the middle of the first class.
    I think you're making a club.
