5/17/15 "Danny Krivit, François K and Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell have acquired the aura of elder statesmen on the New York club scene - hardly surprising when you consider that the former two have been rocking the Big Apple's dancefloors since the 1970s. The trio started their Body & Soul parties in 1996, holding them on Sunday afternoons at the now-defunct Vinyl club in Lower Manhattan. They described the event as 'like a house party that got too big for someone's living room', although you'd have struggled to find a house party that drew such a wide-ranging crowd. While it's no longer a regular concern, Body & Soul still rears its head from time to time, not least in these annual outdoor parties in Tokyo. Taking place in Harumi Port Terminal, the outdoor Body & Soul Live in Tokyo remains a strictly daytime-only event, starting at 11am and running until 8pm. As ever, visuals come courtesy of New York lighting supremo Ariel. Advance tickets go on sale March 18."

Joe is the best DJ as far as I'm concerned, I've seen him in person and he takes you to another level of consciousness of course smoking a doobie at the same time doesn't hurt either lol

True comment below Garage, Zanzibar, the LOFT, all used some similar lighting but I believe the sound systems were all created by a guy named RICHARD LONG, who acoustically constructed his speakers and woofer, tweeters in a unique way and if iam not mistaken he may have done studio 54 as well not certain on that though

While this is so very cool................iv'e been spoiled by ol'school lights.....NEON lights that is. Most particularly Club Zanzibar's , it's just the way they had them installed and the way the old school light jays worked them!!!! And my one and only time of The Legendary Paradise Garage...i remember thinking to myself : I DON'T LIKE THESE LIGHTS!!! LOL, sorry to any G head's reading this but you know exactly what i mean as some of you visited Club Zanzibar to hear TEE, PATERSON (The other LARRY) or TONY HUMPHRIES, the lights were installed in the 1970's and had little change to them til final closing.

As a old school Light tech i agree. the new systems are limited by the lack of a connection between operator and machine. Not so long not one person would be standing there looking like sheeple waiting for the beat to drop then doing nothing with it. Music makes you dance... mescaline dust would take of that problem quickly LOL Kinda But Not

Ariel is an old school light jockey and worked with Larry at Trax in the late 80s...he agrees the LED lights are cold and the old analog ones were soft and the boards were simply but easier with timing..BUT this was an outdoor party with a one time rig ...not in an actual club
