The whole thing with Bastille is that they have a grittiness to their songs. The whole happy country makeover didn't work for me. But they have talent. Plus 5 was pretty good. I'd swap him nearer the top.
I disagree. Although you're right in saying that Bastille has this grittiness to their music (which I really like as well), this is a cover and I like the fact that they haven't (tried to) make an exact copy of Bastille's song like a lot of musicians on RUclips. To be honest I think the country-like thing was really creative and original.
Please don't take this as a negative comment or me criticizing you though, I know that on RUclips comments can come over the wrong way.
I agree that #3 is not as enjoyable as the others, yet it is creative and has a uniquely fun tune to it.
Maddie Briggs I think it’s just a bit more fast paced and energetic I don’t think it’s happy. I can see what you mean though but I personally liked it quite a bit. I do agree the 5th guy was very good

A fantastic collection. #5 is interesting as a one man band , the two women do minimal versions , both talented I preferred the #1. I don't like hick music but the washboard band was excellent, powerful , rich vocals , they seem a fun band to jam with if my mandolin skills were up to it, #2 did some subtle guitar work that draws the curious ear, all good , skillful, #5 was the fave careful use of electronics is a multiplier ; I laughed when I saw what the drumstick was for
