Have just found this. Giants , masters, all gone but neil nartin x matt molloy…how happy x ENTRANCED they all look, we are indeed lesser mortals in a way
What a treat!!! legends playing for us mortals. Grateful so I am, grateful to be able to hear and enjoy the music of these giants. Much respect and admiration from a Chilean absolute fan (agus go raibh mile maith agat TG4). Grandes entre los grandes.
Une superbe suite qui nous emmène dans ce beau pays qu'est l'Irlande, grâce au jeu magnifique de tous ces très bons musiciens, un moment inoubliable, merci !
My cherished memory is a lesson on the uilleann pipes from Liam. He was so encouraging as a teacher. The best himself, but so willing to share his skills. I don't play this beautiful instrument now, but really enjoyed it when I did.
@John Morrissey "...will we ever see his likes again..."? Yes, we will see his like again. There is a slew of young, very talented, pipers coming along, and a lot of them are female. Irish music, and Irish culture in general, is flourishing. Tóg go bog é, it's in good hands.
Matt Molloy played with the Bothy Band, he also played with The Chieftains. Big Sean Keane played with The Chieftains. Arty McGlynn was in The Bothy Band too, I believe, and of course, the god that is Liam O'Flynn was Planxty and Moving Hearts. I'm not familiar with the chap on the cello though. You don't see the cello used anywhere enough in trad music these days. They were used extensively though in the dance bands of the 18th century.
@@colindouglas7769 Arty McGlynn never played with the Bothy Band and Liam never played with Moving Hearts, but that was long time ago anyway. 2 years ago I met an american cello player who played regulary at Fergus O'Flaherty's session in Dingle, but that really is not often heard. If anybody wants Bothy Band or Matt Molloy tunes written down in good quality with chords, I would pass it on as pdf.
Mícheál Ó Domhnaill was the guitar player with the Bothy Band, and Davy Spillane was the piper with Moving Hearts. Neil Martin was a member of Cran for several years, along with Desi Wilkinson and Sean Corcoran (RIP)
Cherish them!...Cherish them all while they're here...someone leaves us everyday.
I've never seen anybody play the cello like that in my whole life. Unbelievable.
honestly, 1st time to hear this and I am on mushrooms..... excellent xxxxxxxxx

God bless you Liam
The best of the best, thank you Liam. I was privileged to meet you and hear you play live. In any geonra there’s never been better.
Uilleann pipers..... the Kings of multitaskers!! Mesmerizing!!
I never knew that the pipes droned that much. Wow! They sound beautiful, though. Nice cello music. Thanks for sharing this with us.
First class music!
it doesn't get any better!!!!
The best of the best. 👊🏼
As near to perfection as earthly beings can get!
Absolutely marvelous. All the best to all the musicians, and (as ever) RIP Liam.

Mutual respect among Masters - an added dimension...
This music just makes life so beautiful! Just awesome!
Meilleurs que la musique irlandaise ça n'existe pas .ce genre de musique touche tous les sens des hommes.
Merci beaucoup!
A glorious example of masters at work and loving it. I’d love it too if I could play like that. Wow!!! An absolute pleasure to listen to!!!
Arty McGlynn passed away December 2019, rest in peace.
Wonderful, each one so talented lovely to listen to. Twill never be beaten
Mighty ♥️🎶
Hup !!
Wonderful quintet. Great, great musicians.
This is fantastic.
Yes , really beautiful. Thanks for checking us out !!
Beautiful - the cello fits so perfectly
The cello should be used more often in trad music
One of my most cherished possessions is an autographed CD of Liam O’Flynn on pipes with Seamus Heaney, signed at Áras an Uachtaráin. RIP two Legends.
A treasure indeed! 🍀

Well done ✅🏆💯👍😊 then and even now

❤️
This might be an odd question, but how did they come up with the shape of violin type instruments?
37 seconds wow indeed
Mo léan, tá siad imithe uain, L Óg Ó'F, A McG agus SK. Ní bheidh a leithéad ann arís!
Fear uasal séimha sheinn liom ar mo ‘single‘ Úr-Chill a Chreagáin Gael linn 1972! Máire Nic a‘ Bháird-suaimhneas síoraí a Liam dhíl..😊
That's proper trad.
Ceol úr.
Liam Og agus a chairde,. Ní fheicimīd a leithead arīs.
Tá an ceart agat.....tá sé an-bhrónach ach sin é an saol.
Tá an ceart agat a Mhícheál
Like going to heaven.
'Tis in Ireland that Apollo sojourned his summers.
Boidheach!
What tune is the double bass playing ?
Caisleán An Óir - and it's the cello I believe
So help me out here. Who's on the pipes?
These Uillean pipes are not the Irish war pipes
Matt Molloy played with the Bothy Band from 1975 onwards. The other heroes never.
