Brent, Your suspension is inducing your traction oscillations! Ideally, you should move the pivot UP and/or if that is unfeasible, you need to stiffen the crap out of it then increase the damping even more. I am talking like 2x and 5x respectively minimum. At least that's my initial impressions. It would be an interesting suspension to plot and see anti squat and dive numbers, has anyone ever done that sort of analysis on it? Its pretty interesting... I've worked with alot of suspensions and think it would be pretty interesting to sort that one out! Keep digging!

I was looking at the same on another video and posted this (copy/paste) ....."Have you guys considered eliminating the front suspension or relocating pick up points of the shocks? Car is dipping the front end of the side skirts towards the ground when loaded, torque at the wheels is lifting front of the engine up. That seems like a lot of wasted energy. Maybe relocate shock mounts from trans tunnel to the base of windshield to send all that load to the back. Your lever arm pushing front tires down is too small, get the rear shocks pushing front of the car down once loaded by redirecting torque thru the chassis, that does not seem to be happening with current set up as all the load is being redirected towards the ground due to shock positioning. I might be making no sense as I cant see how the car is built, my apologies if that is the case. Great car, really enjoying the content!!" .......
It will be interesting to know how much weight if being transferred to the rear tires compared to a "normal" 9 sec Civic. I was thinking that maybe with minor modifications to the front sled and roll cage, shocks could be mounted from the top of the sled to some place near base of windshield

Things to keep in mind regarding the Bully's front suspension design. This car was conceived and built by Brent and friends almost 20 years ago to be the worlds fastest (edit:"quickest" my bad) FWD car. That is huge for some young men with a dream, and it was cool enough to get invited to show at SEMA! During it's life it has gone through many drivetrain changes which have only one thing in common... the center pivot design. Brent decided to honor his viewing public with a resurrection of the Bully for their appearance at Cleetus and Cars (thanks Brent!) In a amazing display of teamwork this miracle build went from a 260 hp V6 to the 800+hp beast it is today in under two weeks! Amazing! Now as many of you have noticed the chassis has some serious catching up to do. With each and every drivetrain change the center of mass relative to the front tire patch (fulcrum point) and hinge dramatically changes. They have had very little time to tune the chassis to the new weight distribution and power, yet have made every attempt to entertain the masses as often as possible. Thanks again Brent! So I vote we give the team some well deserved time to wind down from the crazy race schedule, fix some customer cars and sell some shirts, then I'm sure some engineering brainstorms will help the team teach the Bully some new FWD tricks. I see the Bully running FWD 7.99's sometime next year, but I am very optimistic since I feed off Brent's positive attitude as often as possible! Thanks for reading.

@@bradtatum6585 Gotta look at it in perspective. Bully was designed a long time ago (almost 20years now?) and a lot of the NHRA ProFWD cars used a similar if not identical style. But on the flip side, if you can do better as you say you can by pointing out the Bully's flaws, don't just say it, build a car like that yourself with your design that you feel is the correct way and prove your way was right by beating him at the track. Otherwise, you're just white noise dude. 🤷

Ya'll got this just getting better and better.
Bully got the lunch money this time but the MR2 was ripping.
Poor Roman loosing a map sensor of all things and up against someone who wanted a win anyway they could get it was a downer.
For the most part though the reason I love this sport is most will do all they can to help others make a pass.
And Jamie man you truly are an MVP, so awesome...

Brent, you are THE most Zen racer I have ever witnessed. Maybe its because the bully has beaten you down so many times that you just always expect something, or maybe its because you are the literal reincarnation of the buddha. I'm not sure, and it's too soon for me to tell lol.
I know you guys will get this Hog racin someday soon, its inevitable.
Keep on keepin on. Love your channel.

Brent, that's a very interesting beast you've built. I assume you added the hinge primarily to dampen out and absorb some of the shock loading at launch, between gears, etc. While this is a novel idea, I think you'll (unfortunately) find that there are lighter and more effective ways to do this. With a basic face plated (dog) manual transmission your pivot concept might work well, but even there a slipper clutch is a lighter trans solution, not to mention options like lower rpm 2-step, lower launch boost pressure, etc. With an automatic you can do all sorts of things to reduce the shock, including a higher stall converter, reprogrammed clutch timing, as well as lower rpm on the 2-step, lower boost pressure, etc.
One of the biggest challenges you've got is there is so much mass moving that it is difficult to control (dampen). Inadequate dampening will be at extremely high risk of bouncing, creating far bigger shock loading that the pivot itself will have any hope of absorbing. These big cyclic shock loads will wreck havoc on everything from CV joints to differential housings to axle shafts...
I truly hate to say it, but I believe you'll have better performance (that is much easier to tune) with a rigid frame, still with the engine and all extra weight (turbos, etc.) as far forwards as possible, combined with some ultra-long wheelie bars that under acceleration "cheat" the wheelbase into a much longer one, resulting on a huge percentage of weight increase on the front (driven) tires.
I expect you've got your heart set on making the hinge concept work. If so, I suggest you think about what it will take to dampen out the essentially vertical bouncing that the rigid control arms are completely unable to dampen (tires aren't very good at damping vertical motion). Adding in a pair of relatively standard control arms, springs and shocks will allow Bully to absorb the energy from the vertical bouncing (greatly reducing it). That will convert all of the mass of the engine, trans, diff, etc. from unsprung weight to sprung weight (allowing you to control it). After that you can experiment with the pivot stiffness & damping compared to stiffness & damping at the control arms and figure out if there really is any benefit to the hinge.
    Good luck

I'm not surprised the axle broke because that front left wheel is buckled to crap and most likely shat the bearing and everything around it.
I seen the wheel wobble on the Dyno and it's bad.
    Need new wheels dude 😎👌🏻
