I've been a fan of Bale's since _Reign of Fire_ and it still blows my mind how he can make these little tweaks in his performance to become both recognizable and unrecognizable at the same time.
I'd recommend watching Empire of the Sun, if you haven't already. Even at just 13 years old, Christian Bale showed incredible range. 👍

Amazing how Bale transforms himself for each role, not many actors put in as much work as he does.
Only other one off the top of my head with the same kind of dedication would be Daniel Day-Lewis.

when it's men who lose weight for a role it's called dedication, when women are obliged to do that throughout all their career, it's just diet... besides, men have the chance to look ugly or weird for movies whereas women are expected to look pretty most of the time

Disclaimer: The director of this film is very abusive and has a long history of treating staff and actors, especially women, horribly on the set of his movies. On top of that, he admitted to groping and assualting his 19 year old niece... I know the cast is enticing but please dont support this film!

I lived in FRG for 3 years. I spent 3 weeks In Nijmegen in the mid seventies. The Dutch loved us. We loved them. They never forgot we liberated them from the nazis. Well, I've met Margo R. I've had lunch with Margo R. I worked with Margo R and I can tell you this about Margo R. She's lovely. She liked my dog, but as for me? I don't know or care. She didn't stab my in the eye. She liked my dog however and that's what mattered to me at the time. Margot Robbie is a lovely spirit and a talented soul, in my opinion. That, is what I know. As for her craft? She's that classical kind of fame in that old school way in the making. We're watching history in the making. So rejoice! That's what I know. Christian Bale is a gifted actor. What else needs to be said? The film itself looks fantastic.
I'm probably going to watch this movie in theatre or stream it, it looks interesting.
