Hi Michael! Thank you so much my friend! a kit with this much detail sort of asks for more detail, like plug wires and fuel lines. Alas, I feel i shouldn't add them to the kit because it should stay box stock to represent what comes in the kit.
The Jeep is looking great Bryan. That Takom kit has amazing well engineered details. Like you need a wrench to put it together. Thank Mr. Willys for the design.
Looks like the Oil pump is the mystery piece. It looks like it continues in the direction of the distributor sticking out of the other side. Looks great. If I buy a jeep I will swing by for detailing tips ;)
I have now started a month or two with making a Willy Jeep like you made this one I had bought a plastic kit scale 1/35 and by measuring piece by piece I make it on scale 1/15 because I am too clean I do not have it easy because I have never done this before in any case I like doing this but I would not make a second one and my interest is because I drove with Willy Jeep during my military service in 1971 In Germany Siegen also drove with Mercedes Unimog and Bedford there and I think also to rebuild this model Unimog when this Jeep is finished ! many greetings from Ostend Belgium. Your work is fantastic I hope to get something to read from you 👌
MAN! This looks SO MUCH BETTER than if I would have finished it. I am not goofing at all. You are doing such an awesome job on this kit. I can't wait till we unveil it up in Vegas. And Corporal Little BG looks to scale to it. Thanks so much for taking this on for me.
My pleasure my friend! Anything i can do to help out! I think Corporal L'il BG gave him self a promotion last night, this morning i saw him wearing his helmet and mirrored sunglasses! 😉
WOW! What a perfect combination- it's an auto but it also falls under the armor category(soft skinned). Progress is looking great so far Bryan. Once again your attention to all of the little details is what sets your models apart. I sure hope that their 1/16 Sherman Easy Eight has the same level of detail. Tom S.
Hi Tom, I got to see tje Sherman test shot at Andy's store a few weeks ago and it is amazing!! I believe it comes with mild interior detail and a few after market vendors are preparing detail accessories for it. 😁 I know Steve at Value Gear is working on some stuff for the Takom Jeep!
Ah, YES! The Propellerheads! Decksanddrumsandrockandroll is such a great CD! I also love The Crystal Method and Death in Vegas. Oh, man. Am I gonna have to move my turntable into my hobbyroom now? lol
I've just built the transmission and transfer casing im in step 5 just now it went in no bother whatsoever, It says to add it to that transfer casing first then slide the whole thing in or leave the bottom bar off till later! There's a heck of alot of clean up on it though all them seamlines needing removed and injection pin marks filled really is alot on a 1.16 to a 1.35 armour kit!
Excellent work Bryan on the jeep just to let you no the information you ask for is on the way to you sorry buddy I'm so far behind on your videos trying to catch up this house remodeling has really upset the apple cart so to speak 👍🍻
That half double leaf spring is sure interesting, wonder what that's all about. It's looking real good, its always surprising how well a little wash pulls detail and scaling shadows.
Yeah, that has peeked my interest there! Sort of a strange deal. The instructions say nothing about hey it's there. Agreed, just a basic wash really helps! The color is so dark, I feel I may go over the wbike thing later with a bit of liter color pastel chalk and "highlight" some of the detail.
@@BGsModelWorkshop It's the "Torque Reaction Spring” installed from mid 1942 onwards both on MB and Ford cars and on previous by an upgrade kit. It corrected but not solved a phenomenon caused by the very simple steering system. (Note the follwing text is copied from a jeep forum) It's called (the phenomenon) “axle wrap" the tendency of a leaf-sprung axle to twist under braking or acceleration. Willys MB and Ford GPW didn't send a lot of power to the wheels so axle wrap under acceleration wasn't really an issue but under hard braking it was. As the driver stabs the brakes, the Jeep’s axle rotates towards the front of the vehicle, and it wants to take the bellcrank along with it. Since the drag link-which connects to the frame-mounted steering box on one end, and the bellcrank on the other-doesn’t move unless the driver turns the steering wheel, the bellcrank will have a tendency to want to rotate under braking as the axle twists. This will put the driver’s side tie rod in compression, and the passenger’s side tie rod in tension, thus turning the Jeep to the driver’s side, potentially into oncoming traffic.
I think the model lacks the pintle hook eye bolts. These bolts replace the two lower bolts of the pintle hook on the Jeep and are used to attach the trailer safety chains. Easy to reproduce with some metal wire and epoxy filler for welds
Thank you! If I recall, he sprayed XF-62 Olive Drab through his airbrush. The texture came out as a happy accident. Not enough thinner I believe. 😉 Hope that helps!!
Can I ask what's happened to all the casting foundry markings of the rocker cover the willy and the Jeep? It just looks like it's been cut right off and just a bare flat head? That's a beautiful bit of detail actually researched and been added to the Go Devil in this MB
No idea. The kit came with very little in the way of info. It was a test shot and I was lucky to have instructions. Didn't even have part numbers at this stage.
Looking really good. I almost want to buy one even though I don't usually do military stuff. I love the detail on it. If I remember correctly from Luca C's video this is the 1/4 Ton 4x4 G503 MB 1:16 Scale Jeep that came out this month? Can't wait for the next video.
You are cotrect my friend. I have chatted with a fee friends that 3D print amd they have said it wouldn't be a problem to scale-up some cool stuff for this kit. Like swamper tires, engine mods or engines ypu can swap. Heck! At tje Vegas show I was talking to a couple of dragster uilders and they said it would be easy to slip a chassis under it and stretch the body for a funny car look! I lobe the fact car guys are getting ideas about this model kit!
Oh i fully agree with you Bob, if this was going to be my personal model, i would definitely wire and plumb the whole thing! However, i feel, since it will be a display piece for the model kits coming out, it needs to represent what comes with the kit. That all being said, I will get my own version and do just that!!
I don't think they painted radiators green lol. They would have just been whatever steel colour. Leaf springs wouldn't have been painted either. Only the frame was painted primer then olive drab. not everything.
Coming along nicely BG! Really cool kit. Thanks for sharing buddy! Happy days and model on! 😎🇨🇦
Thanks Peter!
Boy the jeep is looking awesome. Love the detail the kit has. Ron
Thank Ron! Oh yeah!! I could totally see this being turned into a drag racer push car for the 1/16th funny cars!
You are doing a great job, and it is looking great. I really cannot believe all of the details on this kit. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job greattip with the pencil! Coming along nice.
HI Steve! thank you!!
Very nice,I love a military jeep
Hi Rick! I think you would dig this one! especially with your ability to print after market bits!
hi Bryan …. looking great so far / very impressed with the level of detail in the kit
Hi Sean! I agree, the detail level is amazing! I wish Takom made car models!

@@BGsModelWorkshop I've got one on order and can't wait to get started.
Awesome!!! I think you will be pleased with it!
Wow, when you placed the engine in the chassis it looked so detailed I thought it would actually run.
Hi Steve! LOL Just need the key!! 😉
Hi Bryan your build is looking great! The scale and detail on this kit is awesome.Have a great weekend.
Thanks Mike! It's a great kit and easy to build. I swear it's building its' self!
That kit is so cool I got to say , It's just so real looking I think after you get it done and all weather up its going to be Killer🍪🍪🍪🍪
Thank you Deen! It is the best kit i have ever had the chance to work on! I don't say that lightly either! 😉🍪
It's looking great!! That's an insane amount of detail!!
Hi Johnny! It sure is!! This kit is huge too so being able to detail everything is much easier!
Thanks for sharing that beautiful work, the chassis looks amazing, Luka is really good at that for sure
Thanks Marcos! Luke sure is!! I may sub out some of my chassis builds to him from now on! 😉😀

Thanks Vince!! Lol, I agree, wish I had a set of wrenches and sockets to help build the kit! 😁
The jeep is looking sweet!! Love the scale of this kit.
Thanks Kenny! agreed!! i feel Jeep's are such small vehicles, this kit really needed to be in this larger scale.

Please could you tell me the colors you used for the Jeep and for the seat fabric? Thank you

Just about done with this gem... takom make great kits
They certainly do!!!
It is really nicely made. Can front wheels turn on it??
The front wheels can be turned. 😊
I have a 1945 GPW and this model is spot on for a late war MB. The only thing is the steering wheel is not quite right...it's early war.
That is so cool to hear Mike! Hmm, didn't realize the steering wheel was of a different generation. Wonder if there is a way to correct it?
What color did you use on the exhaust manifold?
Don't forget to add the hopes that go on the sides of the tow pintal on the rear i se are missing
👍👍
Thank you Tim!! 😊
You forgot to remove the ejection pins inside both rear wheel arches.
Yep
That kit is just ripe to be fully plumbed and wired. Everything.

@@BGsModelWorkshop. I wonder who's going to be the first to kit bashed this with some civilian parts? hahaha Or an engine swap?
May I make a suggestion? When you are doing closeup camera stuff, hold the model still. That movement is what is keeping it out of focus.
At 2:33: This is not a mechanical fuel pump, its the oil pump and left of it the fuel pump.
The fuel pump is the one closest to the front of the engine.
AH ha! thank you!! 😀
At the beginning to you refer to Mr. Luka Cee? The closed-captioning renders incorrectly the name, so one cannot be certain.

The biggest disappointment in that kit is the plastic tires
Most military kits have hard plastic tires. These paint up really nice. I enjoyed the challenge.
