Rise of the Northstar or ROTN for short is a french hardcore/metal/crossover band from Paris. Rise of the Northstar has released two EPs, Tokyo Assault (2010) and Demonstrating My Saiya Style (2012), and three full-length albums, Welcame (2014), The Legacy of Shi (2018) and Showdown (2023). With this song coming off the album The legacy of shi, which is produced by Joe Duplantier from Gojira. The band's name was inspired by the manga Fist of the North Star. The bands musical style blends 90's New York hardcore with metal, hip-hop elements and Japanese pop culture, a mixture that the band itself calls as "crossover".The band are influenced by metal groups such as: Rage against the machine, Slayer, Machine head, Arch enemy and much more, along with hip-hop acts Wu-Tang Clan, Onyx and Mobb Deep. I'm gonna say these guys grew up listening to and watching Suicidal Tendencies ALOT. Quite a few references to older school ST. That being said, these guys f@#kin are Killin it!! 🤘🤘

Fyi Rise of the NorthStar is a play on the old anime called Fist of the NorthStar. These guys are French influenced by American hardcore/nu-metal and heavily by Japanese anime. And they started in 2008

This reminded me a bit of the Faith No More and Boo-Yaa TRIBE collaboration on the song "Another Body Murdered". Worth checking out.
That album was actually recorded in Queens, New York and produced by Joe Duplantier wich is Gojira's lead singer.
