Hi Richard saw your video on the new Hornby Hitachi Azuma class 800 looks awesome When my wife and I went to stay with our daughter in Thatcham west Berkshire we took our daughter and grandchildren to London for the day so we were lucky to travel on a brand new Azuma 800 GWR in first class from Newbury to London Paddington great journey on a fantastic train also got my grandson into the hobby got him Cock. Hi Richard. Very interesting narration. I only have the front and back part for my collection and will be getting Road and Rails to fit sound for me in due course, when this troubled time is behind us.
Richard, you're reviews are great as usual. Never mind punctuality of videos, I'm always happy to get a notification 🔔 from you. The Azuma set is looking great on your layout. 👍 GWR
The 800s are an awesome piece of kit, both real and model. Time will tell if they serve as well as the HSTs. Look forward to more videos while you're self isolating. Keep safe and well buddy, regards Bobby 'T'.
@@NewJunction I resisted actually making that joke in my original comment! ha ha. You are a thing of beauty for sure and maybe if we met in a bar and I had had 10000 million pints, you could take me back to your railway and try out the toilets at your station!!! ha
Very smart looking thingy that train thingy.. it was great seeing it on West coast Cement very sleek.. I come over all funny for a minute and thought I said I liked that modern train 😯 Now I know for sure rust looks bloody awesome on white 😆
Brilliant video Richard the 800 does look good on your layout good luck with the move I had noticed that there was not much new context on your channel. Good luck to what you get up to in the future and what you your plans are.
Nice new train, good to see another video from you Richard. So let me see if I get this right, you buy the two end units as a set, then wait two years for the coaches, which are then released as a limited set of 500 and you have to hope you can get them............Wow that's risky...................Anyway, stay safe, and thanks. Hello Richard. I was thinking of having a model railway in my bedroom using a full 9 coach set Azuma. Using these illl have to save up for two sets. And the front coaches as well! I’m using a pool table so it’s not too big. And it fits in my bedroom. I’ll probably get a NR Test Train and a shunter so I can drag this around.
Hi Richard- They look very impressive going round the layout and when you consider the price of a normal top range coach when you add the lights into the equation the price is reasonable. Looking forward to what other videos you have up your sleeve. Keep well & safe ------------------------Cheers Kev
Great vid Richard I'm mainly modern freight but that looks fab especially in the dark. All the best with the move i know you only live down the road from me and look forward to seeing the new layout Love the modern image scene 👍 Mike kryton central tmd.
Nice to see you back in your own loft! I saw you at Modelrail Scotland but you were busy filming whatever Hornby was revealing so didn't get a chance to say hello. Nicely detailed on the outside, however, for that price I wouldn't expect to have to dismantle them to deal with the light bleed!
did you notice the light bleed from the cockpit door 8:54 the body could do with being removed and the inside painted with a black undercoat then white over the top so that the light stops a bleed through
I saw you at the Basingstoke model show. Never did see the iep, as it wasnt on west coast cement, mike said it was on loftus road, of which I never did find it
They do look nice Richard. I'm tempted to get the LNER set but not sure if spending $600.00 ish on model railway stuff is wise with the current situation in the world. Take care, hope to see you at another show sometime. Regards, David.

Hi Richard , great video , thank you for sharing , a few questions if I may please, one is how or where did you get the station sounds and ambiance, at the moment I use a Google home to play railway station ' ambience ' but yours had actual station announcements about your Azuma , so is this some sort of pc software please? I really would like to know especially as it had the sound of the MTU diesel powering up as your set departed , or is it one of those sound cubes ?. Another question I'm new to the hobby I have a GWR green version of this and it looks great but some of the bogies catch on the bodies and I'm not sure what the fix is, I'd thought of small plastic washers ? And , one thing I'm not sure how to remove the coach bodies two I don't know but would appreciate advice on how to open the ' power cars ' as I have some DCC chips to fit , and annoyingly these things need two, for the direction lights to work) ( ps I loved seeing the proper IET/HST in Lner livery sat at your station, I also liked the , highly detailed, not sure of the manufacturer I can't think the - northern coloured 156, although I'm.a 158 fan , I didnt know they did it in northern livery or was it hand painted ?, Either way nice touch on your layout !🙂). Also I note you have what looks like the peco OHLE electrification masts , my question with this, is having got a class 91 ( old tooling ) and a 90 ' ditto', both have a switch on top to make the pantograph draw power , I did call one model shop in the south , the guy seemed very short , curt and unhelpful , kinda rubbished my wanting to use the overhead wires for power , he said they are only for decoration only , yet the pack says different, so how does one , get power to the contact wire, given how thin the masts are, secondly how would you get ' live and neutral ' ? This may sound like a silly question, but I'm rather new to the hobby , as I got in memory of the last thing my dad and I did together before he was killed , which was setup a then small model railway , so now much older ' 40's', I'm back in the hobby , my layout is loosely based on the borders railway set around my version of Hawick , only this Hawick has two main stations on the Hawick side the middle a full sized airport , realworld details and 1/100.scale that is a match for 00 gauge ( the people that you have on the layout , match the size of the aircraft doors on the aircraft models ) the trains run full length under the runway , i made it into a tunnel , the airport building modeled on Doncaster Airport, with its own station to fit upto a four car voyager . But anwyay I really love your layout , I also need help with point motors , I made an error in building the layout and buildings before doing the motors , I've also done a fair amount of ballsting, but any help or advice I'd be greatful, as I say your layout looks amazing I did wonder if you'd painted the 156? , Or is it Adam at Electra graphics who does the amazing vinyls for various trains , not sure yet if he's done the 800, but if he has I'd bet the 800 would look nice in Transpennine , I have a class 350 in that scheme it looks great . Once again great video on this train, I do hope you may be able to help, I have a disability so sometimes things are more difficult to do, and i have to get help with stuff, but that's like sending away faulty trains , eg the new tooling bachman class 158 has two flaws one out of five bought all had one or more wheel sets at an angle bit in the bogie frame , the other is some after a while just stop running , the lights are on but no action , that's DC and DCC so hence they got sent away . Well good luck with the layout , I look forward to seeing more reviews, especially if you should get the upcoming ' class 745 or 755 four car bi mode flirt train sets that run in Anglia, they are from Hornby and are due very soon .
What a beautiful model, it looks stunning, I am just getting back into model trains so I have a bit of catching up to do can you also tell me where I can get a railway sign like your New Junction sign on the wall of your layout, regards, Colin.
Great to see another video for new junction! I’m currently trying to add coach lighting to all my fleet during covid 19 and wondered how Hornby have added lighting to these coaches and how it works. Of course you don’t work for Hornby but do you have any ideas of what sort of leds they have used and how the lights operate? Secondly are the lights that yellowish in real life or is it just the camera. Was expecting a new model to have a much more pure/ bright white as per modern stock? All the best Matt
HI there can i ask if you have ever had any problems with your Class 800's starting up moving and then stopping multiple times then creating a short circuit. i am in the throws of returning my 800back to hornby for the second time now with the same motor fault. yet all my other hornby and bachmann locos all work perfectly fine.
Great looking train but 2 year wait between ends and intermediate coaches hardly joined up thinking. It’s the same with Scotrail HST . Still waiting for the intermediates . I thought you were dismantling New Junction ready for house move

Hello, I enjoy your videos and am thinking of starting a layout. My loft space is quite big but like a FREEZER! how do you heat, ventilate and then keep it cool in summer? Thanks, Nigel
Looks good, have run my gwr one in the dark and the lights are great. However I don’t know if it’s just the camera but some of the light bleeds out on the coach sides and does not look good. Almost toy like. Excellent presentation!
I imagine you get asked this all the but do you play any games like Cities Skylines or Transport fever? i don't have the space for a real set so i kind of use the games as a virtual train set haha
Hi Richard, I thought the coaches were about £50 too expensive, even with lighting and being very detailed. Like you say all passenger coaches really ought to be sold with lighting as standard no matter who the manufacturers are, in this day and age. I think there should be about 20 passengers glued into coaches from new as standard too. If they had passengers and lighting in as standard I think £50-£55 a coach would be reasonable. Just for feedback, I didn’t like the camera click noise on your video when you switched to a new camera angle or image. But I thought your review was excellent otherwise. Stay safe everyone. Regards, Jim
@@NewJunction Nice! Picked them up myself too, excellent set of powercars but the price is a little high... Also having problems with my virgin powercar (dummy unit) where it makes a high pitched squeaking noise while running, I tried oiling and it made it worse 😂 any ideas?

Moving, are you coming back to geordieland, just stay safe dude.
I wish, only moving a few miles down the road.
@@NewJunction As long as the attic is bigger you will be champion,0 guage needs space for a full 91 rake.
I imagine you get asked this all the but do you play any games like Cities Skylines or Transport fever? i don't have the space for a real set so i kind of use the games as a virtual train set haha
That's a good idea when space is limited! I tend to play real time strategies myself like Roller coaster tycoon.
Hi Richard,
I thought the coaches were about £50 too expensive, even with lighting and being very detailed.
Regards,
Jim
thanks Jim, keep safe!
Are those the new Hornby LNER powercars i spy there?
They are indeed! 😉
@@NewJunction Nice! Picked them up myself too, excellent set of powercars but the price is a little high... Also having problems with my virgin powercar (dummy unit) where it makes a high pitched squeaking noise while running, I tried oiling and it made it worse 😂 any ideas?
I’ve given you the 99th like
Thanks Karim!
Are there model class 68’s or 88’s?
