Great video Richard. These signals look really easy to install and setup. I've seen some other videos that have made this process seem quite daunting, but after watching this I'm definitely going to go down this route.
i must say i love this layout with its modern image look, ive bought a couple of traintronics signals but not yet installed them, think the heathcote controller might b something i go for, keep the good videos coming as it certainly helps as im a bit rusty with my model railway bits!
At 9:17, was there aa piece of tissue paper on top of the sensor to keep the light red? After the HST went by, another shot was shown and the tissue paper was gone and then the light went to double yellow.
Very nice concept, particularly the signal to signal control. I think that the light output of the LEDs need to be attenuated to prevent overspill - and blinding the driver. He's only small. A resistor in the signal leads would work. Small point, but for those of you which mainly run steam locomotive-hauled trains, I understand that the practice was "last wheel replacement" to red. So, in the days of yore when trains had a brake van at the back and the guard was assiduously monitoring the train's progress and looking out of the ducket at signals, he should not see a red light being passed, hence, last wheel replacement. Can this be done on this system? Will mere relocation in advance of the signal be useful?
good to see heathcote are still making their units. Haven't heard their name used for a while. got to do something about the signals mate, the light bleed ruins the overall effect of the layout.
i have a similar system from another company and they are very good what make ate the signals ? you might want to reduce the voltage to the led's if you can as this will drop the brightness a bit. these are a very nice addition to your layout :)
Nice system but I think Ansaldo installed the wires between the signal and the circuit board! Hehehe. on a serious note, there is a lot of light contamination between lenses. Could you not put some paint around the lenses to prevent the light leaching to the non illuminated lenses?
That system is simple and fantastic. I love simple systems. How far from the light is the sensor in the trackwork? Could that system be controlled by a computer? Thanks for sharing and carry on
Can you set them to stay red until they are cleared manually by a switch of sorts? I'm running on a bi-directional single track, so having them change to green when a train would be coming in the opposite direction isn't realistic at all and I'm guessing it would mess up the censor sequence, too.
MickMaan These Mas sequencers in particular are the automatic sort however Heathcote themselves do an endless array of boards for all scenarios. Give them a look up. :-)
Definitely a massive addition to a great layout, wasn't sure if the sequence was quite right at the end though as I didn't see it go to amber after the double amber , still looked so good mate, will you be linking additional signals or just keeping it to the one along the stretch of scenic layout? Cheers Dazza
Excellent, great work, thanks - one sees some fantastic layouts spoiled by all the signals not changing!

They look very smart indeed. Loving the addition of the emt hst. A personal favourite of mine
Poinchester station 🙂

Great video! Beautiful models! Good work!.......and big respect from Zagreb/Croatia!
NJ greetings, looking good the new addition. Always wondered how to do these , so thanks for sharing ... cheers ... steve
crazyvec 🙂
Only recently found your channel but am a follower now...look forward to seeing what you have done and how you do it..great videos mate.
Pauls Refurbished Model Railways thanks Paul! Videos every Friday:-)
Now if i could get that organised....did an intro in January to my channel and not had time to do anything else till yesterday.
Ever so clever - thank you for explaining the wiring (always a “challenge “ for me!).

Great video looks so easy and it's a awesome layout I'll be getting them myself cheers Brentlea

Incredible budd loving how the East cost hst movement
Jamie Prosser 🙂
great steam train at the end with its sound effects!!
Very nice and easy to install, I can see me buying some of them...Simon
Simon -Liverton Central 🙂
Would love the EMT class 43. Great livery
whats the servo board called i like to order one ref number
great walkthrough, do you need just 1 IRDOT and 1 signal or do you need anything else.
super job..really very effective great stuff dave
Can you confirm what parts you ordered, looks great, but their site is rather complicated to navigate. Thanks.
Great video might have a go at this myself!! There's incredible light bleed on the signals tho might use train tech instead
Steve Lindley I was about to say. use Eckon, Berko or CR signals as they look better and don't have the light bleed.
So how does the DCC controller know which engine it needs to stop?
Wil have to get some of these now on Banks road👍
Banks Road modern image 🙂

Nice video and very easy system and explanation. Do the signals control the trains i.e. a red stops the train or is that up to the driver ?
Up to the driver
@@NewJunction Thanks.

Looks a good system ...Dave

Great video. ☺️

Fantastic and thanks. what a great system. what brand of colour light did you use? Cheers Jerry
Jerry Allen they're Traintronics ones Jerry.
Cheers
Morning great video they look really good and user friendly
Have you got the part number please?
Going to give these a go
That system is simple and fantastic. I love simple systems.

hi does this system actually get wired into the track to kill the power if on red?
question too hard then?
Can they be used on non DCC signals?
I'm not 100% sure, might be worth getting in touch with Heathcote directly. 😊
Was it hard ,and cheap
do these have full automated train control or do they still need the human element to stop trains?
Like the auto signals.
Where did you get the one with the JI?
Can you set them to stay red until they are cleared manually by a switch of sorts? I'm running on a bi-directional single track, so having them change to green when a train would be coming in the opposite direction isn't realistic at all and I'm guessing it would mess up the censor sequence, too.

Nice video once again 😊
great video how much is this kit please ?
Phil & Kyle I'd check out their website for current prices.
Phil & Kyle 🙂
the light bleed is bad between aspects. This could be stopped by painting the body of the LEDs ? looked through the comments, is it just me?
Would you rate these over Train Tech's sensor signals?
I've not used Train techs but Ive heard good things. 👍🏻
I have a signal like this from Traintronics which I have yet to install. The wires don't seem to be insulated...how does that work?
Thin wires are usulay varnish protected - so to solder you need to scrape varnish from end. Cover soldered joint with heat shink.
Can u hook 3 up so if ones green next will yellow ete
Endless hookups
Can they do 2 way singling. For a single track?
very nice.....
Very nice video! You mentioned that they can be daisy-chained together. Could you do a video showing this in-action? Thanks, David
Hiya David, unfortunately not as I've only got one per line, you'd need multiple in sequence to show this. :(
Oh ok. If you get anymore to put on then maybe you could show it. Anyway, great video and I will consider getting them when the time comes
Do you have any experience of dapol semaphore signals?
Yes, they can be very temperamental
How the hell did u manage to do this there website is like a maze care to help?
Like as the what and which to buy
Do they make these in N gauge? excellent video
Im not sure, thats one for them :)

Very nice look the business
