Very good skiing. Your priorities are spot on. Safety first. Then fun and longevity. You should have a great season and grow your channel. Thanks for your videos.

You absolutely do not suck! I use your videos as inspiration to my friends & family that come visit or wanna take a ski vacation. Your videos and your experiences are more realistic/relevent to newer & average skiers like my extended family. You push yourself, you take safety precautions, you hate the crowds and you’ve even had boot problems. You are relatable beyond belief 😊. I haven’t commented in a while but I’ve been watching and liking the videos to make sure your channel gets the recognition it deserves. Thanks for putting your personal experience out there. Stay relatable, stay fun 😊👊🏾

@@angelinaoutside I agree with @cpercival02. You do not suck. I've been skiing (for 65 years) with people that have years of experience that would kill to ski as well as you ski now.... as well as have your will to challenge yourself. Keep up the good work. I'm a Summit county resident and if you want to do a few runs together, send me a message.

I love the idea of sharing tips on navigating resorts and trip planning, I think a lot of beginners & families would appreciate some help avoiding the "pitfalls" of "ski trips" 🤣🤣

I totally identify with what you said. I'm 63 and got back into skiing last year after 30 years and Its on my mind constantly. Unfortunately those around me don't appreciate it like I do. I love your solution and have enjoyed your videos.

Yeap. I learned to ski when I was 16 at Ski Apache. I want to say I went down a blue without issue. Now at 49, getting back into skiing after many decades pause, I'm a lot more cautious - still doing easy greens and easing into speed and harder stuff.

What's your favorite early season resort to ski?
I have so much fun watching you ski. You ski terrain in a similar style to myself and not many skiing RUclipsrs cover the beginner/intermediate parts of the mountains. You're an awesome skier, keep it up.

Love your videos! I was waiting for this one! I live here and couldn't make it up. That is the most dead Avanti chairlift will be all season. And we all suck at skiing right now haha. I'm going to be in Green City until my confidence builds up and its game on. Thanks for all you do. Stay awesome!

You’re doing great. Early season isn't for high speed or throwing the biggest tricks. Second, I'm jealous that your early season is about the best we get on the lower East Coast. We're still waiting for a Vail resort to open on the East Coast. Early December is looking like the earliest we get.

I did one trip to Winterplace in West Virginia a couple decades ago - it was skiing on ice during core season. The upper part of the mountain was ok but the base was all ice. I told my father to come out to Colorado for some proper skiing and he didn't believe me until last season when I finally got him to Breck in April. It was magical. Yeah, I think he's done with the east coast skiing.

I think that you’re better off with your Volkls rather than the Black Crows. Volkl skis are more solid. I have 2 pair of them and they are the best skis that I’ve ever skied on. Also…You DON’T suck! 😁 Maybe ski without the Carv units that tell you that you suck and I’ll bet you’ll have a better time on the slopes without them. I appreciate your honesty and how you feel at various moments in your videos. Keep doing what you do!

Shouldn't be so hard on yourself. There is no shame in not being an expert. I honestly enjoy watching ski content like this more than those extreme people skiing dangerous lines. There are so many channels doing hardcore stuff, it's nice to get a view of some of the more mello runs. Keep up the good videos!

You do not stink! You can ski double black runs! I’m hoping to progress to a single black diamond run or two on my next ski trip to Copper in Feb.
As far as questions I have: I too have watched a ton a YT content looking to improve my technique. The biggest thing I see in my own POV footage is a lack of edge angle. Your skis looked nicely parallel and you had good edge angles on the first laps you made of the corduroy blue run in this video. Have you ever intentionally focused on achieving higher edge angles or at least using more of your edges? Were there any ah-hah moments for you?
I’m positive I can improve just about everything in my form, but equipment-wise, though I own my own boots now, I feel like the skis I rent still introduce a wildcard because binding delta is different depending on what I rent. I struggle with fore-aft alignment/balance at times, and am still trying to isolate the parameters to understand what feels the best on the snow. I have longer femurs than tibia/fibia, which impacts how my body wants to stack up on the snow just like it impacts squatting form when strength training.
I’d consider myself a budding intermediate, as I comfortably skied blues on Peak 9 and 8 at Break earlier this year. When the snow is good, I feel good, but I fall apart if a section is hard pack, icy, or wind swept. I’m hoping to get better at recruiting my edges more to help when the conditions aren’t ideal. I find your content relatable and approachable, and consider you to be an advanced skier based on the terrain you ski and the finer points of technique you’re working on. Keep up the great work, and enjoy your time on the mountain!

I haven't been to Vail yet. Only done Keystone, Breck and Beaver Creek so far - but I'm Vail-curious. I'm a beginner skier still, working on my parallel turns and I can certainly relate to not being comfortable with speed. My sister tells me "that's the fun part" - but I'm not there yet. Hoping to do my first blue this season.
You're doing great - you have a lucky hubby.

where are the best widest blue groomers in your opinion ? Copper, Vail, Breck, ABasin? Also, which location has the b est bang for your buck in terms of accomodations?

    • @angelinaoutside
      @angelinaoutside  8 дней назад +1

Vail has the best wide groomers. It rarely feels too crowded. In terms of accommodations, it really depends on what your preferences are. Places like Vail and Breck will be pricier since these are more famous ski towns, but you can also stay at Silverthorne/Dillon/Frisco to save some money. Ultimately, it depends on what terrain you like to ski and how much you are willing to spend.
