I've had previous experience with Tower Control in Splatoon 2, but it's good to get a guide that will keep you up to date. Good to have a refresher course to shake off the cobwebs. Thanks, Dude.
Im nearly finished on the video and I noticed there was a cool tidbit not mentioned. It’s probably common knowledge but the more inklings on the tower the faster it goes. But did you know standing on the tower in kid form makes it move slightly faster than when in squid form. It promotes shooting while on the tower and honestly that small push in speed can make the difference in a comeback
Towers do not move faster with more players. All they do is clear checkpoints quicker. The only person on the tower during the match should really be an anchor weapon but obviously every round is different and situations change
Very helpful, and thanks for including choreographed example footage instead of just using clips from games--the slower, more deliberate pace makes it very easy and clear to follow what's happening and how it relates to what you're talking about. In a fast-paced game like Splatoon, it can be really hard to recognize what's happening, especially when watching high level gameplay.
DUDE out here telling people how to play the game lol But seriously, we really appreciate your guides and insights as it really helps people who want to try modes they haven't played as much, or teaches stuff that's not as intuitive to general players.
one more thing i’d like to add, is knowing when to have multiple people on tower. say you have player advantage and the enemy is coming off spawn as you’ve broken the last check point. it can be helpful to put anywhere between 2-4 players on the tower to assure the knockout even if they manage to get a pick or two. same sort of idea to prevent overtime, as the clock runs out and if it’s safe to do so, it’s a good idea again to put multiples on tower. this is more situational but i can always tell my team knows what they’re doing when they can cooperate like that.
11:10 well good thing I'm an experienced dualies user. Also, I found splat dualies to be very good in rainmaker. The suction bomb helps a lot with stalling and popping the rainmaker shield, and crab tank provides tons of pressure whenever you're trying to get through a checkpoint. The standard fire on crab tank can easily contest rainmaker shield pop when you're at a disadvantage.
Thanks alot for this guide, i subbed a short while ago and was looking for these type of guides because i wanted to give ranked mode a try but i only play splatoon for a month and i didnt want to screw up my team without knowing how a mode works. Really appreciate it and love your videos! Keep it up👍🔥
Tower control = tug of war Splat Zones = king of the hill Rainmaker = capture the flag Clam Blitz = basketball? I find certain slosher weapons good for tower as they are good at attacking varying elevation where other weapons struggle with this. So often you do not have LOS on the tower and sloshers don't care about LOS. Also splash wall on the tower is hard to pull off but super effective
I would love to see a guide on team play and call-outs and things like that, I'm fairly new to competitive splatoon and I feel like it would help a lot.
Hot take: angle shooter is great for the Splattershot Pro, I may even argue I play better with 3’s kit than when I mained Kshot Pro with MPU in X rank in 2. Here’s why: You can hit them with the angle shooter for 30 damage before they are in range, then go in and engage in the fight. Not only are they a definite 2-shot kill when you engage, you can see their location from the marker and since you don’t have to run mpu you benefit from swim speed, ink saver etc. to win the fight. I honestly think that Angle shooter has so much potential, people just don’t know how to use it yet, and while I am still learning with it too I can’t tell you how many 1v1s I win just because I can combo with it.
I agree. It has a tripwire function that if opp touches the line, my whole team has info of their location. And if i hit them with the marker, that's small damage to assist teammates getting the kill. And like you said, marker +2 shots is a ko.
100% agree. I'm a Splattershot Pro player, and when I tried the angle shooter in the test splatfest, I immediately loved it. Not sure why it's underappreciated right now
You failed to mention that multiple people on tower speeds the tower up, which, while niche, can mean the entire game if the perfect opportunity arises.
weapons that are good here in this mode *anything* with spirit bomb sucktion bomb or tenta blasters will also work wonders here as 1 can easly force anyone on the tower to move
You forgot to mention that every single players that queues on Tower Control, has always that one player who has no knowledge of the objective whatsoever, and the braindead ones.
3 is technically my first Splatoon game, and I reached A rank barely touching Tower Control because I'm just so bad at it so yeah that's why I'm here :') I'm trying so hard to like it but it's my least favorite mode
To get out of A-Rank, just demolish your opponents before the objective. Start by taking down the slayers, then skirmishers, then supporters, and now the backlines. Once there are only two opponents alive, it’s usually safe to push. Don’t worry about them respawning recently-they are back in game, but not in play. Give them about five seconds and they’re probably back in game again.
Any recommendations for abilities that are beneficial for this game mode? I figure play style can affect those as well since people who play on the tower a lot might want a different set of abilities.
tenta missles are stupid for tower controll. the person on the tower can just stay on the tower without dying. it least i can do it (only on streight lines, so no cp or going down and up).
I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU HAD TO PAINT THE TOWER.. wow i feel stupid lol.. Well then again, the whole game is about actually PAINTING stuff.. So i guess it makes sense
When you use the Booyah Bomb while on the tower do you still move with the tower and does the tower still move, because if so it could be an amazing tool to hold out for that one final push at the very end.
If you’re in overtime as the losing team, if someone throws a suction bomb on the tower is it game over? You either have to jump off or get splatted right?
Maybe this is just me getting older and not having as much free time as I used to but I feel like the more I play Splatoon 3 the more I absolutely hate it. I think that’s only true with you to 2 players on tower. At least that was the case in 2.
The more players are on tower only makes it pass the checkpoints faster

@@weetabix64 thanks cuz I had no idea by how much 😂 now I know!
@JulianRock oh my bad. The cooler loses duration, not the drink's effects. You'll have full duration of the drink while standing on tower.
Placing big bubbler on the tower is still incredibly powerful, just not as powerful as you'd expect

Can't wait to see your other videos for the other ranked game modes.
I listened to this while jumping into a match without playing it before. SUPER helpful and we ended up winning. :) Thanks a bunch!
