Great honest review! I'll second everything you said here. I took a different route with the parts and I'm still working on mine but it looks promising.
Really appreciate that great comment brother.! Can't wait to see yours all finished up I just know you're taking it a completely different route which is always great.! That's why I said it in the video about having to customize everything to get an upgrade in this truck as an RTR version. And that other people are going to be forced to take it a completely different direction to get the same results. Can't wait to see it brother.!
As far as your motor question goes, I have never tested the 2 speed model. I have read the numbers and comments and as far as I can see, it looks to be a nice set up. I have tested, and swear by the motor and trans in my video. I will say that you're gear ratio is raised significantly giving you much more torque than stock. Dropping your top speed considerably though. As in this scale crawler, not noticeable at all. This one should not be doing 25 miles per hour. This motor and transmission are very nice. I am now installing this one in my six wheel drive crawler that will be traded to another RUclipsr. He is building one as well. So I am trusting this one to go to a very good friend.😎
Im watching this a day too late. Got the same one on its way with a motor gear combo to install. I didnt know about the radio and steering cause the reviews said it was proportional. Ah well I need something to tinker with. Ill check out your channel for other rc stuff. Its great finding a true reviewer so thanks
The good news is that you did not break the bank on this one.!! And hey... it does work... but yeah, if you like to tinker, the kit is the way to go. And I personally recommend the D12 series... and if you must have a trail truck made by WPL... move up to the C34. You will be MUCH happier. Many thanks for the great comment my friend.!!
many thanks for that great tip.! Here is one in return, beware of blue lock tite near some of the plastics in these WPL, Eachines, Fayee etc. Models because in some cases it softens the plastics and even cracks others. I had a 6WD Eachines EAT01 and it ate through the front plate... RIGHT THROUGH..!! I included it in the "baddest EACHINES EAT01" video I did a while back. But like you, I LOVE lock tite.! I use it on almost everything with threads.😃👍🏎
@@teejuschrist the first couple of times that it happened to me I couldn't figure out what was happening. Stuff just started to crack without being under any stress. It wasn't until I was deep into my 6 month long, 6WD build that I noticed cracks coming from somewhere that I just hit with LockTite. I don't know what it is but the stuff eats through certain plastics. Weird.!
Like you said, you took a toy grade and made it hobby grade. The expectations at $40 are realistic and then again with the upgrades. Very good comparisons.
the MN 260 motor and gearbox (5-6 bucks eBay) requires a little cutting to battery tray area, great torque and a little more speed than the tan B-36 gearbox with 180 motor, really nice. budget shock upgrade: 50 mm length half threaded M3 cap screws, cut to leave 5/16" of the threads, grind+polish head diameter down to fit inside shock bodies, gives 4-4.5 mm more length (most going to negative suspension travel, 1-3/4" of 1 wheel lift tho!). before assembly, use a paper punch to 2 mm sticky back foam sheet, give each disc a center hole to slide down the screw/shaft, tiny amount of CA to the underside of the head and press disc tight/flat with back edge of hobby knife. wet it with a little oil and assemble. gives just enough friction to stop the bouncing that can cause tip overs. normal ride height is only increased about 2 mm, also helps decrease tire rub in wheel wells at full flex. you DO need to CA the new shock rod threads into the end loops, they're M3 size not M4, but they do un-thread when you want after doing it so its not really an issue. you can get 10 of those screws for 3-4 bucks in eBay, does a couple sets of the C-frame shocks. rims: with a hobby saw blade (or even hacksaw) slice the inner tire bead from a spare set or rims, sand mating surfaces flat (slice out 3 little nubs on inside faces) to CA the inner tire bead to the outside for new "deep dish stock" rims. the tires sidewalls are a bit more vertical/flat staying on the rims better (I mount with Elmer's rubber cement is plenty strong and easy to peel if/when needed). for the fronts, 3 turns wide 3 layers deep of 2 mm solder wire (CA start point using flat screwdriver to make step over and step ups tight) then slice electrical tape slightly wider to stretch 2 wraps tight, ending in a smear of CA to lock it. the kit tires flex a little differently on the widened rims, down the center tread becomes slightly concave and softer, so the corner lugs can get a little more bite. definitely worth the little time and expense, the little extra width for stability plus some extra flex with damping might cost 7 bucks total doing the shocks and rims. long comment "how to"... oh well :)
WOW, there is a lot to look at here..!! Really good stuff.! I am actually knee deep in a 6wd eachines build right now, but it's super secret so I don't have any published videos right now. I have been stock piling footage though, so that will change soon. Many thanks for the great info on this wpl c24.! I still have this one here so this is very useful.🖒🖒🖒
learned a bunch from mostly Gabriel Silvaz channel about set up, the longer shock rods and widened stock rims a couple my own ideas that worked out pretty nicely. don't have a lot of content but... 1st video up was a result of frame swapping a C24 with a B1, for the C24 mini drift truck. took a little thinking, cutting, modifying stock #316 gearbox, but not too difficult to whip up. kinda surprised WPL hasn't put the idea to production already, their older style plastic axle gears never see enough torque to shred them, and it drifts very decently.
I have a gaz version I gave up with it the upgrades and had the same issues with the driveshafts. Best option is a full kit but do not bother with the upgrades.
Hey thanks a bunch for the great comment my friend.!! I did like this truck, but now that i have this C34 in hand I can see where the C14 could have been improved. This C34 is crazy good for 45$. Check out my latest video if you have not yet.! Many thanks for the great comment.!

worth it to save up a little bit, I recommend getting a FlySky 3ch transmitter receiver, because another receiver is about 6 bucks for use in another model. the little 20A brushed ESC are only 3-4 bucks each in eBay too. the kit version usually about 30 bucks, same for the transmitter receiver, and still need and ESC+battery... getting the 1st one up and running CAN cost about 75 bucks total, but after that about 40-45 bucks for kit+receiver+ESC.
If they still sell it with the 6v battery, about 7 minutes. You can upgrade to the time 2cell lipo and get about 15 min per charge. I don't know how much you have your heart set on this C24, but for a couple bucks more you can get into a C34, and that comes with both a proportional steering servo and the lipo battery that I was talking about. @@ighfirlee hello and thank you for your question.. I'm going to have to do a little more research to give you a good answer. I believe that you would have to get so far into the truck to swap the parts in the rtr version that you woiluld be better off building the truck from scratch. Everything he said is false! You can buy a ready to run version with proportional steering and its extremely easy to work on, not to mention the parts are easy to fine, and they have more upgradable parts than any RC I’ve seen so far, especially with an AMAZING price!

Really wish I would have picked up the kit myself. I ditto everything you just said in the previous comment. I'll tell you this much, just wait till I get back in the 6 wheel drive truck. The jjrc models are just exponentially better than the wpl C series. I will be getting back into that truck extremely soon. Keep you posted on that and thanks as always for the great comment.!
AMAZING RC sweet! Yeah I’ve been doing some research. Apparently I’m November wpl is launching a c-44. Someone made a video on it. I’ll have to wait about 2-3 weeks to get all the upgrade parts. Will make a video on it myself. Excited to see what this thing will do with the upgrades. Haha. My poor kid keeps asking why it won’t crawl. Might just have to get him a $150 RGT
Brian Roberts yeah I got lucky because a little small piece came broken so they refunded $25. So really I paid $10. Then yeah spent like $50 on servo, esc, radio, shocks, and 2S lipo. Cheapie stuff for the kid. eBay has RGT crawler for $120. Ive tried one and it’s not bad at all at that price. I will probly buy one and have a video on it. Come subscribe to stay tuned.
@Brian Roberts I have seen some really great Creations come out of these 6X6 Crawlers. I am going to build up the jjrc that I have here. It's the first one that I've ever had and I love it. I think that the six wheel drive trucks are much better built and have quite a bit better materials than some of the smaller c24 c14 wpl vehicles. I still dig the little truck but much better quality coming out of the six wheel drive trucks. I've had my eyes on a Willy's made by the same company. I want to check it out because it's not a 6 wheel drive truck. Can't wait to see what you come up with for your 6X6 build. I have seen a 10-wheel out there on RUclips and it's crazy.

@@DADRacingYT WOW, keep me posted on that for sure.!
To much talking
The very demo is literally titled,The Final Word.!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
