Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning-ll Block 1A verient is for Airforce which comes with internal 25x137mm Autocanon and use APEX round or (Advanced Penetration Enhanced Explosive projectile) which is very effective round against wide variety of target from lightly armoured target to Air target. And doesn't have Vertical takeoff feature. Only F-35 Lightning-ll B comes with vertical takeoff feature. And the F-35 C varient is for carriers.

In the Himalayan mountains, where high altitude and rugged terrain pose significant challenges, fighter aircraft with efficient aerodynamics, low wing loading, and robust maneuverability are most effective. Aircraft like the, Rafale (with canards), Euro fighter Typhoon (with delta wings) and possibly variants of the F-15 E (known for high-altitude performance) are more better suited for operations in Himalayan high altitude environments. Of these three aircraft Rafale may be the better choice for the IAF .
The F-35 and J-20, while technologically advanced, may face huge challenges related to maintenance, logistics, and the specific aerodynamic demands of high-altitude combat in mountainous regions
And may not be suitable for India in a war over Himalayan mountains. India IAF is better off buying 114 Rafale for the airforce and 36 for the Indian Navy .
If the IN wants the naval variant of the F35 C version $101.3 million for an F-35B STOVL (short take-off, vertical landing) variant. $94.4 million for an F-35C CATOBAR (catapult assisted take-off but arrested recovery) variant. Perhaps if USA can sell India the birds along with a nuclear Aircraft carrier even if it is a used Carrier, perhaps India may become very interested.

@MrUnknown38766 I understand but that is based on total weight lift and carrying capacity, not weapons package. If it doesn't have the needed punch then it will come shirt like the Tejas. All others alike Turkeys T129 and Chinese Z 10 are about the same weight but carry more lethal weapons.
