    There are reports that Apple has entirely nixed a 27” iMac. (Not to say they won’t eventually do a 32, and that would probably offer the full range of chipsets.) For people like me who need to buy in a shorter timeframe, is a fully optioned M3 iMac (chip, RAM, storage) a good photo editing platform, or is it advisable to look at a Mini or even Studio with M2 P or M? Of course those machines require deciding on and purchasing a monitor at $500+.

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  6 месяцев назад +1

      I do think if you spec out the M3 with 16 or 24 GB of ram it will be a good editing machine. Sure, more expensive systems with 32 to 128 GB of ram will be better but the M3 iMac should be able to handle 4K edits with the correct amount of ram. Just make sure you don't get 8 GB and the best obviously is 24. I would also see if you can find other reviews on the edits but even my m1 with 8 GB can handle edits but sometimes there is a little hitch is all.

      Who knows what, the future will bring to the iMac line-up. While, I moved away from the All-in-One iMac desktop systems in 2010, think there are many buyers that would like the option to get an iMac Pro version (with a 27-inch, 30-inch, or 32-inch size screen). As for myself, I plan to buy a complete new Apple desktop system in the Spring of 2025. If buying today, my new system would be a M-2 "mac mini" pro with a 32-inch 6K XDR monitor (smile...smile).

    • @craigneidel
      @craigneidel  5 месяцев назад

      Nice but that 6K is going to cost you. I would consider that only if I had a job that paid me quite a bit for using it but in the end you might have that and need that screen. I do think 5 and 6K screens should eventually come down a little bit in price in the next two years so let's see what the future does bring. Thanks again.

    there are 2 updates on my purchasee, first is im not getting max but base pro chip and second is those new pro chips may be the previous m2 max chips which could make sense why scores are identical to them im not certain but if performance is as score shows then this purchase may be the best buy in 2024, for around 2000 euro you get previous year max chip with extra features and colour which for me that is a must upg, second reason is pricing imac and macbook pro sit at same price difference is only size and chip while pro has alot more add-ons, and lastly are cons for using m1 imac even with upg ram, it is limited in performance, lacks features, display quarity is good but even at night it seems dim to me at max brightness so i almost never turn it down because of that size and quarity it is awesome but it is limited to very few things, since multi tasking does not matter on mac because of one motion swipe i almost never use split screen or multiple windows, i use finder and thats about it on desktop, trackpad makes things far too easy which mice you get similar results but the bigger your hand it the less likely it is to work out but as a mice i still belive it is the best mice i used except sensibility that is capped unlike trackpad, another is my personal issue, white basels and light colour im honestly sick of it it strains my eyes and eventually annoys me, and last reason is customization, in my area 16gb upg for imac is super rare like 2 product in 10 sites and price is very expensive, let alone getting add-ons like trackpad or full keyboard that is not an option, macbook pro in orther hand it comes with all features globablly so no negatives there except screen size which idk since i have not used laptops yet on stores the look great even on m1 macbook 13.3 inch, second complain is price and why i went for base pro chip, right now price of macbook pro in my area with pro chip starts at same price as upg gpu imac not to mention almost triple the perfromance since it starts at 8gb the imac, max chip cost twice the pro and by doing math and estimation, its more efficient to get pro this year if your low on cash and next year new macs come out anyway since apple now release yearly new macs so saving depends on personal use only while i do want max chip it may not be needed if the new pro can run what i want to smothly in this case games i brought games and cant play them, lastly is size and speakers, this year im going for 14.2 inch smallest laptop reason is i want to get used to laptops and adapt if needed since this is a new age and it moves forward faster than expected, i could apt to get 16.2 but the reason i wont get it is time used, i'd rather get the laptop as soon as i can than spend 2 extra months to get it, right now in ianuary i can get it if buyback works on imac, if not i need rethink my approch. have a wonderfull day and thank you for recommanding me imac for my first time use with minisopuru it was a wonderfull experience daily but flaws showed since it is still a 3 year old machine
