You dont have to do all these things to buy SGB. You need to login to RBI retail direct and then bid for the SGB. Allocation is guaranteed.

We have monthly schemes in all the Jewellery stores, and they give 18% reduction in making charges.
We hardly pay 4% making charges + 3% GST.

There are basically 2 types of market. Primary and secondary market. Primary market is where investors buy shares directly from issuing company like IPO. Secondary market is where there is buy and sell of share between investors only.

If you invest SGBs in the primary market or the secondary market (via the stock exchange), the tax treatment for these investments remains consistent. This means that the capital gains tax incurred upon redeeming SGBs is exempted for individuals.

SGB Fact: The guy bought 2 grm SGB for (1 gm 3500 Rs) 7K , thought that later he will buy physically for his daughter marriage. In maturity he got 14 K as good gaining and now he is planning to buy physical gold for kid, now he bought only 2 Grm at the rate of 1 gram 7 K. Tell me where he is really gained??? Finally i ended with same 2 Gm

What are the Taxation rules in case someone buy SGB from secondary market and holds it till maturity?
For SGBs, STCG tax is levied at the applicable income tax slab rate and LTCG tax at 20% with indexation benefit (in case of premature redemption). If the investor holds the bonds until maturity, then there is no LTCG tax.

A Non-Resident Indian cannot invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds as per the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999.
According to the Scheme, Indian residents, as defined under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999, can invest in SGBs. The eligible investors are individuals, UHFs, trusts, universities, and charitable institutions.
