      All dust is eventually like smoking, keep breathing it long enough for high enough concentration and you will develop lung cancer. Whether we live long enough to experience it is of course another question but research is quite clear that the variance in is quite big in how sensitive some people are for lung cancer. Some people are quite resistant and won't develop lung cancer even when smoking (smoke is also mostly dust) for 120 years, but other people can be so sensitive that daily vacuuming for 20 years is already a risk factor. The issue is, that you won't know beforehand how sensitive your lungs are.

      @@avlehtine There's angular velocity and mass on the outer edge and it's quite substantial inertia at 10k+ rotations per minute. Grinder disks usually snap when working because it comes to a sudden stop, when the material you are cuttin pinches the blade. Most grinder discs can bend quite a bit, it prematurely uses up the disk but usually doesn't break it.

    • @jarivuorinen3878
      @jarivuorinen3878 Год назад +2

      To answer to myself, most cutting DISCS break when they get pinched by the material you're cutting. It's the reason why circular saws have a blade to separate the material, to prevent kickback. For angle grinders similar pinching destroys the disk or stalls the grinder

That's when you know shit is bad, when a red waterfall pours from your hand but you feel nothing. Since I had never used one, I watched a couple of youtube videos and I'm so glad I did. Some really good safety tips, which I followed, and this tool did a splendid job. One good thing to know is the weight of the tool puts just about the right amount of pressure on the metal I was cutting, so I didn't have to use a lot of pressure, which is more likely to jam the tool. It made fast work of my job.

    It's interesting, but before doing any type of competition, you should do a baseline test with two identical grinders and discs, respectively, to ensure they will grind evenly and rule out the grinders' power affecting the results. I could be wrong, but I believe that even a difference in power of 100 watts can make one of 2 identical disks look better, simply due to the grinder's power.

      And it seems like there is a bias towards the bottom grinder. I feel like it should be simple to see, but I cant wrap my thoughts around it. Repeating the tests with the same discs, just swapped grinder position would rules it out.

    try adding some laterall projectile when the 2 disks are battling. some rubber band/spring loaded device for safety.
