My thoughts too. It would still have worked in the film, too. He could have had a conversation with his victims in the jail cell. Then imagine him breaking out of jail by screaming in agony as he transforms, and then as the officers come in to see what's going on, he attacks them in wolf form and bursts out of the jail.
That would have defeated the purpose of the plot . David is already aware that he has done something very wrong and he’s remorseful even though he has no recollection. David striking the Officer would take away that he is gentle as a person and it would make no difference whether he was himself or the Wolf then , He’d be seen as violent either way then .
He probably wasn't even thinking straight he just wanted to get arrested the thing I like about Bobbies (the United Kingdom term for policemen) is that they have a lot of patience
@@DrQuagmire1ok now I see that really doesn’t make any sense. The movie used for scaring and funny it’s not a transformation it’s so painful, lol it’s because he doesn’t want to kill more.
Fun fact the woman with the red hat and blonde hair is David Naughton's wife in real life they were married from 1977- 1983 or 1984. She's the one that says "I don't know perhaps he thinks it's a prank"
It’s really sad because this is his last moment with her and he finally admits that he loves her but he doesn’t want to risk something horrible happening to her and he’d never forgive himself. Which is why he tells her he’s not safe to be with and she had to stay away from him. Later in the alley when he’s in wolf form, Alex tells him she loves him as well and his snarling frown softens, as if he understood her. A minute later he’s dead and she’s suffering a moment of heartbreak. Which happens in a number of love story movies. You know it’s a big love story movie as well as a scary movie, and with a lot of humor too.
I believe for a brief second after David is shot this cop can be seen briefly turning his head towards the now deceased David. He now knows why David wanted to arrest him...
I showed this 2 my dad & my brothers and they thought it was kinda funny, and my dad said that even if he did get arrested he'd still put people in danger. (And I'm starting 2 see that theory.)
Happy 42nd Anniversary John Landis's "AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON" (AUGUST 21, 1981)🐺🐾🐺🐾!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🐺 (I LOVE WEREWOLVES SO MUCH)
Police officer is superintendent Brownlow from the Bill, I guess that’s him working his way up in 3 years from this he will be superintendent starting in 1984
David doesn't remember anything the last thing he remember he woke up in a zoo and when the driver says six people were murdered he finally realized it that he killed those people and he's so terrified it's going to be a full moon poor david
David's perfectly good intentions were foiled by British politeness
Probably they drink too much tea
If he wanted to get arrested that badly he should've just punched the officer in the face.
Or steal someone's car, rob a store,
Or threaten someone with a gun:-)

My thoughts exactly.

I feel so bad for David. He tries to get himself arrested the first good thing he did since his murders! Poor David and poor Alex! 😢🐺🌛
because of his werewolf transformation I assume. haven't seen this movie in years, so memory is kinda hazy
He didn't do a good job of it. All it would have taken to get arrested was one swing at that officer's face.
Why didn’t he listen to Alex and go to the doctor!
I think the werewolf subconsciously inside him prevented him from getting arrested

David's sentiments were so inflammatory (still by design in context) that I can understand why Charles and Diana got a shoutout in the credits.

Imagine if he'd attacked people on a plane whilst flying back to America...
This scene got me the very first time I saw it. So unexpectedly dramatic in a horror film! When he tells her I LOVE U Alex!
That crack about Churchill was really uncalled for.
He didn't mean it was only saying that so he can get himself arrested.
@@petergresh516 I know. Just making a joke.
Considering how many cracks he made at other's expense due to his legendary wit, that was Karma.
Saying C**t in the U.K? That's something to be arrested for😂

this scene is fucking classic, LOL
I absolutely loved this movie. Its October again
this part is fuckin' legendary!!!!
I got banned on Facebook for quoting David at 0:40 - 0:53. lol
I don't know why, the scene is actually really good.
Hi
AZRAIEL 1984 because Facebook condemns the use of the word faggot

RIP Queen Elizabeth
Friday 8th January 2021. This is the best Werewolf film ever! I feel so sorry for David though. ❤ Virginia
Besides the transformation scene this is the best part of the movie
Spoken like a true American
I've been to this place a few times and always think of this scene
I love how believable his reaction is. "Be rational? I'm a fucking werewolf for Christ's sake!"
Love him yelling and creating a scene.😂
If he wanted to get arrested, he should’ve beat that cop to a pulp
He forgot that this isn't America.
You don't get arrested that easily lol
You would now !
English folks would have thought "Prince Charles is a meatball? What's 'E talkin' about?"
Why aren't David's offensive rants on the UK on ringtones yet?
When I first saw this part I fell out laughing 😂😂
Shakespeare’s French!
That’s twenty years no parole in my county.
Really?
@@itsjemmabond I was being silly. Sorry.

He could have been in an isolated jail cell maybe like a padded cell wearing a straight jacket
one of the most funniest moments in horror movie history, although nowadays calling a copper an asshole sounds rather mild 🐺🎞🖥🤣
I've been to Trafalgar Square so many times) I love that part of London: I live In Surrey
I love this scene so much! XD
I miss the pigeons in Trafalger Sq..
To be honest I don't think that guy is a real policeman. I mean if you insulted a policeman in real life you would get arrested straight away. :)
1981 Logic
He did warn David that he will arrest him
Insulting the queen was funny
Of course he wasn't going to get arrested for saying that about Prince Charles. In this country he basically called him a cigarette.
He wasn’t wrong about Charles! 🤭
LOL - Thanks for the laugh!
@@TodaysDanteking Charles III now
Why did the police didn't arrest david
We have met David naughton he's lovely
this is 1981...fast forward to 2023 and he would of been arrested straight away for being offensive.
"SHAKESPEARE'S FRENCH!!! FUCK! SHIT!"
LMFAAAAAAOOOOOO. Been laughing at that, for decades.
David had swag dat sweater vest 🔥🔥🔥

If you tried this is the US and about the US government. People would laugh if not agree with you.
Jenny agutter was such such a babe in this movie❤️❤️
Poor David );
I think “Shakespeare’s French” was the most offensive to them
Lady says she doesn't know if he should be arrested cause this could be a prank. She saw the future.😆
Why in hell didn't the cop believe David? :-(😭😭
Amanda Eklund annoying isn’t it!
@@ukmovielocations very annoying :-(
He should have believed David when he said that he killed those people
Perhaps he thought it was a prank.
Even the East End Thug couldn’t save this werewolf 😂😢
This is actually, David, getting stupid. Like really, can you just Alex help you?

He’s not wrong about Prince Charles
A f****t doesn't have an affair with a married woman whilst married to another woman.
King Charles the third now
my favorite scene 😂
He should have punch the police lol
Police officer is superintendent Brownlow from the Bill, I guess that’s him working his way up in 3 years from this he will be superintendent starting in 1984
They're also called Bobby's in United Kingdom of London
Getting arrested isn't all that difficult
Shakespeares French , pmsl.😂
David doesn't remember anything the last thing he remember he woke up in a zoo and when the driver says six people were murdered he finally realized it that he killed those people and he's so terrified it's going to be a full moon poor david
ABSOLUTE TRUTH HERE LISTEN UP
Brownlow from The Bill!
That’s Chief Inspector Brownlow from Sun Hill nick!
He should have said something negative about soccer or the metric system
Or said coffee is better than tea.
He should've also said something bad about cricket (sport), rugby, the British money, Fox hunting
0:17 😂😂😂😂😂
David’s meltdown
0:40 - 0:46 David's comments were officialy racist. This part cracked me up.
0:23 Tomura Shigaraki be like...
From MHA
The reason why David didn't remember turning into a werewolf was cause I assume split personalities
Part of this just aged badly this week.
"Shakespeare's French" 😆
Charles Brownlow from the Bill lol
Why is this soo funny idk why
Maybe he should listen her
