I think the 530d is a perfect pick for this car, great for mpg and you can tune them easily to 310hp without stressing the engine components out at all.

What mpg have you seen from the 530d?

Got my first BMW a few weeks ago, late 2019 520d MHT M-Sport with the digital dash and I absolutely love it! What a fantastic car. Plenty of power for 99% of the time plus so comfortable and relaxing to drive.

Only saw this after buying my 2022 520D Touring (albeit with xDrive too). Very reassuring to hear all the positives that I’ve found too! Having owned 530Ds and 530is I was at first concerned about the lower power of the 520D but it’s got more than an enough for me (even in comfort). Certainly, if the budget can take it, the 530D would be faster, smoother but for most (in the real world) the variance is marginal. Amazing car.

This by far is one of the better reviews I've seen so far, especially regarding fuel consumption.

Thanks for the heavenly ride :-) The way you talk about it, how your voice shows what you are experiencing, it's almost as if I'm driving it myself, great job! Btw, love the view of the side camera on the b-road, would love to see it when you go over the bump in that corner.

Thank you for helping me choose my next car. An upgrade from an 18 plate 520d saloon to a 520d hybrid 21 plate onwards 😅
Honestly, after having done almost 80k on my car in the last 2 years, heavy loads, etc, I bloody love her...
No wonder they call the 5 series the Ultimate Driving Machine 🚘

I was looking at getting the 520d and not sure which to opt for, the 2018/19 520d or the hybrid you have. What is the MPG in town and motorway and overall for each?
I had 3 series for 7 years and just got the 2019 Passat and absolutely hate it, massive regret and looking on auto trader for a 520d

I've driven one of these. Can't fault the car at all even the engine is good but I would go for a 6 cylinder diesel for that smoothness

Have you tested BMW 520i petrol Mild Hybrid fuel economy? We know that 520d mild hybrid does 61+ mpg but for us who don't do hi mileage - 520i mil hybrid is cheaper option. Can you, pls, test it for mpg, same as this one?

520d is a bit to weak for that size, i would say 530d is perfect.

only complaint about the facelift is the lack of the auto on off engine button. i mean yeah you can code it out but lets be real people who buy this car wont do that

I worried about that when i traded my F10 530D for my G31 LCI 530D but the Hybrid stop start is Soooo Smooth i just leave the car in Auto Hold and it is like driving electric when it comes to stop start, if you put it into sport the stop / start does not kick in anyway, never drive it in sport though... No need.

Love BMW’s. You’ve done the 440i GC, and other BMW’s but would love to see an original M135i with the N55 on the channel

Couldn't disagree more on the seat front, most horrific ones I've tried, went for a test drive spent half an hour trying to get the seat and steering column in the right position, didn't bother in the end! (Bearing in mind I'm 6,4)

I have a 2021 LCI 530D Touring and find the seats perfectly comfortable and have no problems adjusting them. I am 6ft 6, maybe the electric memory seats adjustments make enough difference.

What speeds to manufacturers test cars at? I don't think it's 70 I think they do it at 56mph

    • @ParagonCarsLondon
      @ParagonCarsLondon  Год назад +3

For WLTP they do a range of speeds from 56km/h up to 131km/h. For the motorway they do 97.4km/h or 60.5mph for some reason haha.
