  • This video shows a technique to make a multi-color epoxy inlay in one pour to more closely emulate a ruby throated hummingbird.
I will be attending the 2022 IWF in Atlanta and will leave two hexagonal boxes at the Hoffmann USA booth (B6552). Perhaps Markus will have a drawing.

Steve..gave you a thumbs up. How did you prevent bleeding?

I typically use Amazing Vinyl Sealer but that is not always necessary depending on the wood species and using the mica pigment powders. If you use a liquid colorant, sealing is a must with all species. Steve

@@extremewoodworker Ok Steve. What day will that be? I can go any day of the show. Let me know. And I will be there. I wish there was a way we could communicate. Then that would help me with what it takes for me to get to that incredible show. Been there many times. Love it. But it IS huge.
If you know of a way, let me know dear brother. And maybe we can spend some time; IF you have the time.

@@MrPatdeeee I will be there Tues and Wed. The good folks at Hoffmann have my number so they can contact me if I am not there when you arrive. Unfortunately RUclips deleted their private messaging several years ago which makes communication a lot more difficult.

@@extremewoodworker Well, the best plans sometimes goes crazy. For I didn't know that Atlanta had made MAJOR changes; around the Georgia World Convention Center.
So I was trying to go there as I've done for many yrs. Thus I kept trying to get to the GWCC; by the way I always used to. And I spend untold time trying to get there. Worse: my :caregiver: had to go to the restroom. And NO place I could fine in downtown; had public restrooms.
So we were in a horrible quagmire. And I finally got mad and came back home. And I so wanted to meet you Steve. Sorry I could not do it.
Maybe in 2024 ; I will update my GPS, so I can get to see you dear friend.

I'm under the assumption that when you cut your video during the one you were demonstrating for us you were working on the other 5 and managed to pull off the 6 as you planned?

Hi William. That is correct, all 6 were done in the same setting. I just edited for time and to have a closeup of one. Steve
