Great job! I owned 2 of these beauties back in the day, a black '79 and a black '81, both with burgundy leather......still remember that feeling of driving those cars.....has not been matched since!
Great job compiling all these photos to that eight track! Loved it at 4:38 😂 I love listening and watching this retro stuff! Everyone thinks I'm strange for liking it but I doubt anyone here is!
Loved it! Although, the pictures around 4:38 of the corroded plastic bumper extensions while the tape discussed fit/finish weren't totally appropriate. lol
I designed the 1979-1985 Eldorado's, Toronado's and Riviera's. I also designed the 1977-1990 full sized downsized rear wheel drive Cadillac DeVille, Brougham and Chevrolet Impala, Caprice. The 1977 Impala and the 1979 Riviera were Motor Trends Magazine's "Car of the Year" Awardee's. And did I mention I designed the 1977-1985 full size downsized rear wheel drive Buicks and Oldsomobile's? I drew and designed those cars while incarcerated in Prison between 1972 and 1975.
so true so true. It's said that if they didn't use plastics no one could afford a new one. WHAT?! Overpriced. Although given the choice it's the 79 that was the best out of this generation cause of the engine. Olds 350's. The Rivieras with the V8 had the 350 olds as well. I still would take the 67. Can you imagine what that car was like to drive, look at after the long boats in years before. Such an extreme change. They're all just sexy.
Couldn't agree with you more. People were bitching and suing GM cuz their Caddies had Olds or Buick engines. So they listened and gave them the crappy V864 and 4100 V8 when they should have kept the 350 all along! It was stupid to call them a certain nameplate's engine anyway!
we had a 1984 coupe and i remebering the Eldorado having a cassette tape explaining all the features of the Eldorado i wish i had kept at least that and not to mention the gold key system it had beutiful car we were second owner of if the lady we brought it from brought brand new paid $23,000.00 for it wrote out a check for it must have been nice to do that
I enjoyed the commercial on the new 1979 Cadillac Eldorado. is their a sales promotional tape on the 1984 Cadillac Eldorado models? I have a couple of promotional videos for the 1987 Buick Regal and Grand Nationals.
Gotta say i still like my 83 Riviera better. The Eldorados lines are too sharp and not in the right places. Also the interior is more tacky than anything. I do love that red and white two tone interior I'd kill for that color combo in my Riv if it wasnt brown
I am glad so many people have enjoyed this video.

Terrific video montage. The narrator and the music flowed beautifully together.
What a Experience... Love it man

79 and 80 were the some of the last years of Cadilliac

The 350 made it a good car. My parents bought an '83 afterwards and the engine sucked.
Yeah, but after the 40th picture of an Eldo, I was getting bored! :^) Thanks for the kind words.

I wish I knew what the names of the 2 songs are that play during this experience.
This is enormously late, but according to RUclips it is "Extravaganza - Keith Mansfield"
Look at all that plastic wood on the dash. People were once so easily pleased.
"vinyl leather"... yeah, right!
