    We are seeing this question a lot so allow us to answer: How did we recorded the tones? Amp tones: Guitar -> 5153 50w -> Speaker out to LoadBox/CabSim -> UAD Apollo Twin Duo -> ProTools. Palladium tones: Guitar -> Palladium -> AxeFX II Tube Preamp Amp Sim -> Cab Sim -> UAD Apollo Twin Duo -> ProTools. The Palladium can also be used directly into a cab sim, or used in the FX Loop of an amp utilizing just the power amp, or into a clean channel of an amp, but we chose the path above because it worked well for our setup. With that said, all situations sounded great and it's a highly versatile tool that can be catered to whatever your setup is.

    what every one is missing is the palladium doesn't loose it tone and dynamics at higher volume for larger venues,they have fixed the problem by minimalizing clipping and muddy tone allowing for flawless tone with more head room. Great job Guy's!!!!!

    I just bought this pedal. to play through my Marshall jvm.. I don't believe any distortion pedal is better than a good amps distortion. but this is definitely second place. best sounding distortion pedal I've ever heard

    • @TimothyPage06
      @TimothyPage06 8 лет назад +1

      Doesn't exist anymore, they changed the codecs for audio compression a while back, and most stuff on RUclips is uploaded at basically CD quality. Not to say that there wasn't post processing on this or other compression added in post.

    the only difference I heard was a slightly tighter/brighter tone from the pedal, but it was minimal, and could only tell when isolated. I sent this to my cousin, who didn't like previous demos, and now he wants one. I do too haha

    we need a demo straight through a solid state power amp for clean power to understand the pedal dynamics.

    Building a closed IEM system. IEM's are the way to go these days...traveling light but packing a heavy-ass punch with something like the Palladium would be essential.
    Seriously considering this pedal as a preamp for our guitars. Love the sound it produces, raw and no BS.

    can I run this straight into my interface and just apply IR'S?

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  8 лет назад +3

      Sure- the Palladium Gain Stage is sort of like a preamp, so you'd have to add power amp, cab & mic modeling on it. But it can be done, and it can sound really good with the right IRs.

  • @uzumakinaruto180

    An important thing to note here is that the 5150 had a power amp where the palladium didn't; that's why it wasn't quite as full sounding

    What does this pedal actually do? I'm confused...It sounds great though, lol.
    The isolated tracks part I can hear it better...It's an overdrive pedal I guess?

    • @seymourduncan
      @seymourduncan  8 лет назад +3

      It is like adding a gain channel to your amp. It is an overdrive as well as a distortion, although the EQ on the pedal acts like the EQ of another amp channel.

      +Seymour Duncan I like this pedal. Can we put this in front of crunch and gain channels without overloading the gain?

    • @MeTuLHeD
      @MeTuLHeD 8 лет назад +1

      No dude. It's a stomp box. Just like a Tube Screamer or the like. Only much higher gain than a TS.
      You can run it direct when recording. But it will have to go into a amp/cab simulator software like Two Notes or something similar.

  • @allendean9807
    @allendean9807 8 лет назад

    So it's a drive box? Yet, it's hooked up to a tube amp, I assume, in the clean channel.... Which still benefits from the tubes and their clean headroom.. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great, and I would love to hear it through my Carvin Valvemaster 100- huge, super clean channel-Ed goodness.... However, doesn't the 5150-3 have a little dirt in the clean channel, or is it pristine and huge headroom, like a Hiwatt, or Carvin?

    That experiment shows nothing! Maybe because of the drums in the background, and the guitars are doubled what causes a big mess. I can hear any difference at all.
