    The kick determining the angle/inversion of the gumbi really clicked for me thank you! I was so confused how to determine the half eight the gumbi and be able to move whichever angle I wanted

    Nice man, I always liked this progression chain, it's like you wouldn't do an aerial without learning a cartwheel. What's the background song? It's real nice

  • @xMattD-p3m

    I'm just starting and trying to work out what side to learn things on: I cartwheel with right hand down first, so I need to learn this with left hand down first? But on the trampoline I spin to the left during flips, so for tricking, eg. a cork, I would need to swing through with my right leg to spin left(?), but in your new touch-down raiz tutorial it looks like you do the combo as lefthand cartwheel, righthand touch-down raiz, back full spinning left with right leg swinging through... so should I relearn cartwheels on the other side?

    You reading in my mind lol. I had a problem, that i just started tricking like 3 months ago and i learned the raiz to my wrong side, and now i have to relearn it to my left side and i just can't do it lo. So i wanted to start train gumbies, after raiz, and after tdraiz. So i must say thank you!

    I've always found gumbi the hardest of the raiz progression. Felt that it always would come last naturally

    • @BrendanMorrisonTricking
      @BrendanMorrisonTricking  7 лет назад

      If someone isnt flexible they struggle a lot with gumbi but it is so important fro progression to have that baseline. I struggled with gumbi too but I think it is the safest to learn so I place it first in my curriculum but its up to the athlete to decide their own progression

    damn you I 'invented' the cartwheel carry thru gumbi by/ for myself as I had never seen it and now I understand it's just a common practice technique lol

  • @Jack-ik9vy
    @Jack-ik9vy 6 лет назад

    I'm a beginner trying to get into tricking. I prefer to spin to the right, however It feels natural to kick with my right leg... which doesn't work for right side spinning. What do you recommend me to do, change spin direction or try to get used to kicking with the left leg? (I havn't learned any tricks so I'm asking this before I start practicing)

    I'm an experienced tumbler and can't figure this skill out. When I do opposite side I can do it perfectly but when I do it the other way so I can swing it I dont arch, my split closes and I have no power. Any tips to fix it?

    • @BrendanMorrisonTricking
      @BrendanMorrisonTricking  7 лет назад

      It sounds like a flexibility issue. I'd recommend working your bridge and splits! best of luck!

      Its kind of a choice I usually recommend gumbi to raiz but Its a choice of the athlete to decide the progression that works best for them

    It looks so easy but I just don’t get it. Like I can already do a sailor moon. I think I’ll just skip gumbi.
