For the most part yes, the balls do require stretch to look like balls more than lemons (you can find other simple ball patterns online), and the band should fit without stretch (though I would probably measure the bottom opening of the hat and cut a band the same length)

the more i watch it the more it makes sense and im not a sewer
but also i have a slightly thinner fleece fabric will this make much of a difference?
