After listening to this amazing performance, Beethoven's 2nd piano concerto has become the one of my favorite piano concertos.

In my opinion, this is the best orchestra in the world right now. I'd absolutely love to hear a rendition of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto with this orchestra. Hopefully it will happen someday.

Search for a cd of the Emperor Concerto (no 5) with Claudio Arrau and the Concertgebouw conducted by Bernard Haitink. I’ve treasured this since the 1970s and never heard it played better. They have recorded all five concerti, but the coupling of numbers 4 and 5 are exceptional.

This has always been my favourite Tchaikovsky Symphony. Although I prefer the original version to the revised one that is always programmed.

It would be desirable that even after this Nightmare we can continue, from time to time, enjoying your concertos, as they are essential for the Healing, the Health, of all of us. THANKS to you!

04:43 Are u kidding me? What does this tune have to do with Ukraine? It's 'Vniz po matushke po Volge' , a Russian folk song ruclips.net/video/zjsMIQKBXWo/видео.html throughout the 1-st movement. The horns here copy the steamers' horns on the Volga River

Most programme annotators who supply notes for concert-goers to read at concerts state that Tchaikovsky used several Ukrainian folk-tunes in this work. The finale, for example, allegedly quotes the Ukrainian melody "The Crane".

Go tell Tchaikovsky. He might not be listening all that closely though.
