Same. The last time I actually spent time with a woman was when I was in college 8 years ago. Though it was not a date, I spent a lot of my summer then I got ghosted and in the end she was using me to complete her assignments but at least paid me with the experience of having dates and practicing talking to a woman. Before that and after that, I have not. Now that I am in my 30s I texted with a woman and she actually asked me to hang out but then she postponed for the next day to make me ask her out. She was just trying to make it easier for me. I am in my 30s now and I don't have energy anymore so I did not ask her out the next day. Though I still see her at work but she does seem to hold a grudge and now is seeing the other men at my work. I blew my chance as she now looks hotter than before but now realizes that there are better men than me.

The downside; Once a woman has "explored all her options", the average man is barely interested. I knew well a couple classic 8 to 10. They used to laugh and brag about "all these men". My community also organises lots of events for various occasions. So there's lots of opportunity to socialise with women (and men, making new friends in the process). We talk about our common interests, values, or events we're in. Simply going to work and the gym is not enough. You have to have a life outside of work, or you'll be very lonely.

The fact that women prefer men with options is the recipe for insecurities, though, so your mileage may vary. Let's try this: Men, we all know that the less we have in terms of emotional support capacity, skills, social status, finances, time, and so on, the less women are interested in us. On a Venn diagram, one circle is 'who likes us' and the other is 'who we like'. The *overlap* is potential relationships. The more you have to offer, the more options exist in the potential relationship zone because there are more people in the 'who likes us' zone, and chances are some of them you'll like, too. Here is where to be smart instead of stupid. Smart people look at the people who like them, and pick one that they like to date. Far too many young people (and more women if the media, social media, and most things women around me say are any indicator) are stupid because they start with the 'who they like' zone and try to shoehorn the one they like best into the relationship pool. This works out so rarely that it is crazy to try this approach. Crushes are an example of this. Friendzoning is an example of this. Saying she wants a hookup or something casual to win him over is an example of this. Be smart. Make yourself as attractive to others as you can while still being someone you are happy to be. I’m sure for the small percent of guys who can actually use this advice, it works great. I’ve been on one date in the last year of trying to go out. And it’s not for lack of trying AT ALL. I’m 33. I’ve gotten a good job, own my own home and an adorable dog, I dropped 50 pounds and work out 3 days a week, I have a small business I’m launching to make a six figure salary. I’m probably slightly above average attractiveness. I’m intelligent and am often told I’m very funny. I’ve even drastically increased my confidence. And I still have only gotten ONE date. In a whole year. When you say “ONLY one date a month” I’d be THRILLED to be going on that many.

When I was single, a new date every 2-3 months was a success, and would usually result in going on a few dates to actually get to know the person because I wasn't overwhelmed with choice meaning I could actually hold interest in someone for more than an evening. Then, if you want multiple dates with different people every month what exactly are you doing just saying "Hi, fancy a date?" to every person you meet or match with online?. Most normal people like to have some sort of common ground or connection with someone from talking for a good few days or sometimes even a couple of weeks first. Clearly lives within the top 10% and has no idea what dating is like for the majority...
She's talking about and to that top 10% of men. The rest of men do not exist. We have to understand that what men perceive as men is NOT what they have in mind when they talk about men.

I knew well a couple classic 8 to 10.
They used to laugh and brag about "all these men". They dated around. They went out with hot guys and laughed at guys like myself.
Eventually they became older and they looked like every other soccer mom.

One date a month is ambitious for most men. You literally have to spend hours swiping, engaging in conversation and attempt to retain your self-esteem in the process.

@@UserRobot215 I'm out of my home almost every day because I'm involved in my ethnic community. I'm in a church choir, folk choir, Bible study group, and a political advocacy group. My community also organises lots of events for various occasions. So there's lots of opportunity to socialise with women (and men, making new friends in the process). We talk about our common interests, values, or events we're in.
Simply going to work and the gym is not enough. You have to have a life outside of work, or you'll be very lonely.

Well, most men don't really choose to have 1 date a month, most of us don't even have that amount, and there's nothing we can do about it.
And even if we could have more, I bet most of us don't actually have the time to do much more.
Plus, if I start to talk to a woman and it's going in a date, I'm not talking to other women at the same time, having "multiple options" at the same time is in my code just pure disrespect. And if the woman can't appreciate that I'm focusing only on her and prefer a guy who act like a d**k, then there's nothing to be interested to, not my type.

Almost as though going out there and getting a date is something guys can just do. Women have no idea how different it is to be a guy in this regard. Seriously, all they have to do is go outside and wait for some guy to make the approach so that she can reject most of them until finding whatever one she wants. The experience for us guys is SOOOO much harder. Most guys are not capable of just “dating around”, and that’s the way it’s always been.

Don't waste time on girls like this. If a girl deserves your time and attention, you'll know. There's no "huge disadvantage" in only going out with her, cause she'll be doing the same with you (otherwise she didn't met that first requirement). Also, you won't find "the right one" doing the bs she's talking about. You won't find her on the bottom of the hole you're digging.
Live your life for you, be fulfilled while being single. If the right person arrives while at it, that's awesome.

Blaine, I accept your information as technically correct. Single men should not be planning a future or getting clingy with women they've just met. The fact that women prefer men with options is the recipe for insecurities, though, so your mileage may vary.
Let's try this: Men, we all know that the less we have in terms of emotional support capacity, skills, social status, finances, time, and so on, the less women are interested in us. On a Venn diagram, one circle is 'who likes us' and the other is 'who we like'. The *overlap* is potential relationships. The more you have to offer, the more options exist in the potential relationship zone because there are more people in the 'who likes us' zone, and chances are some of them you'll like, too. Here is where to be smart instead of stupid.
Smart people look at the people who like them, and pick one that they like to date. Far too many young people (and more women if the media, social media, and most things women around me say are any indicator) are stupid because they start with the 'who they like' zone and try to shoehorn the one they like best into the relationship pool. This works out so rarely that it is crazy to try this approach. Crushes are an example of this. Friendzoning is an example of this. Saying she wants a hookup or something casual to win him over is an example of this.
Be smart. Make yourself as attractive to others as you can while still being someone you are happy to be. Then, date the people that you are interested in that are interested in you. Don't try to make anyone who isn't interested in you love you.
This advice is well suited for guys in their 20s; not for a 46-year old man like myself who has practically and unintentionally made a career of being single

90% of women swipe on 10% of men. One date a month is actually pretty impressive for most men. Men on the other hand swipe on the majority of women. So women have a much, much easier time getting dates. And men tend to be one woman at time. Not moving on to another woman until they've decided to stop dating the current one. The ones who do date around tend to be those 10% who are looking for hook ups not relationships.

I’m sure for the small percent of guys who can actually use this advice, it works great. I’ve been on one date in the last year of trying to go out. And it’s not for lack of trying AT ALL. I’m 33. I’ve gotten a good job, own my own home and an adorable dog, I dropped 50 pounds and work out 3 days a week, I have a small business I’m launching to make a six figure salary. I’m probably slightly above average attractiveness. I’m intelligent and am often told I’m very funny. I’ve even drastically increased my confidence. And I still have only gotten ONE date. In a whole year. When you say “ONLY one date a month” I’d be THRILLED to be going on that many.
