Can anyone here play this? 😳👇🏻
Yesssss! ...or maybe not
No :(
Yes. I'm the best player ever!
Once, but I was drunk
nope cuz i have no bass
“Ed Sheeran plays hardest song ever” by Davie503 😂
I caught that too ha ha ha
I burst out laughing when I saw the headline! Gold
The "Ed Sheeran" part was too much for me hahaha Lol
I thought that was James Blunt!
@@JanaXV I agree, he really looks like james blunt
"Are those quarter notes?"
"That's how most scholars interpret it, yes."
This made me laugh.
I probably laughed too hard at this one :D
The nice thing is that, no matter how simple or difficult a bass line is, if it grooves, it grooves!
Yes like so many young "hot shots" full of fire, technique and theory he seems to forget
someone has to play BASS and leave the "flights of fancy" to others ...then again he lives in a world solely populated by himself so....I guess being humble isn't a thing.
Well said
@@IndigoBassNotes Context is everything. In an appropriate context, a one-note groove hits hard. In another, it falls flat. I wouldn't want to hear Ain't No Mountain with just roots and no anticipations. If you're a musician who can't do both, then there's a problem.
@@IndigoBassNotes you're not....serious are you?
@@IndigoBassNotes what's the difference between a jazz guitarist and a rock guitarist?
One plays 3 chords to a thousand people, the other plays a thousand chords to 3 people.
You make one of the most difficult tasks in music like child's play. Incredible.
Like Kotě in the Kingkiller chronicles
@@wimlaurensgravemaker2058 is Kvothe.. but yeah, that part was so good, I keep grinning all the chapter
OK. But now you need to make a crazy version of 'Another One Bites the Dust'... because that's definitely what I expected.
The 4 4 stuff was ultra hard and crazy
Now you're ready for lose yourself!
Nah we’re gonna need AI for that

@@CharlesBerthoud My pleasure as always!
Can we just appreciate the newspaper article. Until now, I did not know about moose infrastructure in China.
It's got to be a Monty Python reference... and I love Charles for that.
Or that NASA revealed that the moon is significantly smaller than previously believed. : )
@@Module79L unlikely, the moon has actually been expanding rapidly and scientists have no idea why.
@@RNLafferty - Let's keep this thread on its initial humouristic level, shall we?
I worry a lot about how the moon size will affect my neighbour Norway and their elk export. NASA needs to step up their work - can moose farms be brought to the moon?
this remind me of a scene from the name of the wind, the protagonist performs an easy song pretending that it is the most difficult ever, and then proceed to play a very difficult song as if it is the most simple thing in the world
I see you are a reader of culture as well.
I see you both are of culture! Kvothe is just an amazing character
Favourite book!
"that 4/4 is messing me up"
as a ProgPurist I approve
@jonny j 5/4 !!
I totally feel this comment
Progtip: if you REALLY need a song in 4/4, write the sheet music in 16/8 and double the tempo to stay prog.
Pretty fuckin funny. 😂
Messes you up even more when you realize the phrase is one quarter note follow by 1 8th note and 3 16th notes.......
2:06 epic news article about ed sheeran, bass, china, moose and nasa.
by Davie503
And Norway
Honestly I must know more about how NASA's discovery that the moon is smaller than previously believed will affect the tides and, by extension, the world's moose populations.
@Can a swallow swallow? Do moose eat almonds? If so, then probably, yeah.
I'm pretty sure this means we will not be able to move as many mOOse to the moon as we were planning to. So feel free to invest in mOOse futures.
John Deacon is an outstanding musician and song writer. He has written some of the best known songs. His playing on killer Queen is just phenomenal. Queen are such a versatile band and individually they adapt to playing any style of music 🎶
You're my best friend had some amazing bass . . .
w-wheres the long speech before you get to the content...
That fade in in the beginning of the video took so long though....
Go ask Davie 504 lol with his crazy long intros..
@@twikie258 I actually stopped seeing davie504 because of those long intros were getting old in me lol haha
@@javierherrera8782 true and not enough bass anymore but, good bassist though
We don't do that here.
this is what I needed, my day started so moody and lumpy even sadening at some point. Thank you very much for uploading this epic video today! I really loved it!
I completed a Queen Trilogy, with bass lines that I like and never really tried to learn
Another one bites the dust
Killer queen
Hammer to fall
For me John Deacon is a genius
Next step is a 10 song list of Queen to learn
Little did young Charles know, what he did in this moment would end up changing the music industry as we know it.
for another one bites the dust its own bassline is perfect
"something easy" and then solos over coltrane changes, brilliant
Sometimes the simplest pieces of music is the hardest to play for prodigies.
This is the best documentary about Chinese moose infrastructure I’ve ever seen.
”Steve walks warily down the street” (the first line of the song) I never realized he was taking giant steps.
Maybe not hard to play, but really hard to come up with. Epic bass line from Deacon. But yes, 4/4 will mess you up every time.😁
Actually a lot of bass players think that they can play another one bites the dust, but they don't have the right sound, groove an tempo. I have seen a few bass players play that line as Deacon
Incredible skills here, good job Charles
Charles could you please genuinely write the hardest song you possibly can and make a RUclips challenge for other musicians to see if they can do it. I know you have insane skill and with the bonus of being able to write and read sheet music I think you'll be able to create an insane piece.
He has already composed a hardest impossible bassline, check out “when davie504 asks you for a hardest impossible bassline”, its almost impossible to play tho
Really enjoyed this thanks Charles
Don't call me out like this, Charles.
I still play AOBTD on just the E-string.
Yup. And sometimes forget and go into Good Times. 😂. We’re good.
Humor and self-irony of Charles is simply incomparable.
One opponent is missing to be beaten: "Good Times" by Chic
Still though. Such a sick riff.
It happens a lot of times that you post your videos just before I go to sleep. And honestly, I get the best sleeps after listening to your music. Just CAN'T STOP listening to your works
Good God!An absolute monster owning the fretboard,odd signatures,syncopation,contrapuntal atonal harmonies.Hits the most recognized bass riff in pop music.Stunned ,perplexed,str8 4/4 is alien 2 his sensibility!😂Runs through a couple times and🌋ALL CLEAR!In2 the pocket and"...another 1 bites the dust!"😂🤣😂😁Impeccable wit,Charles!!
A truly challenging song. Many have fallen trying to play it
Aye, you can see it happen in real time...
And another one gone, and another one gone...
Holy shit man congrats!!!! I've been practicing for so long and now I think I can finally do it with the the inspiration you have given me.
I can't be the only one around here who would love to see more jazz solowork of yours, can I? Everytime i hear you play jazz i'm flabbergasted!
"That 4/4 is messing me up" is the best line that's ever happened in the existence of man 😂😂😂
Best song to play while driving an ambulance.
Charles, you are an absolute goofball! And a talented as hell genius! Amazing combination!
You’ve perfected the jazz audience member faces. Can confirm: I do them at jazz shows.
Never mind the song, I'm happy to learn that the Chinese government has invested heavily in the moose infrastructure!
so was I, 6 years ago
I think Charles was once an actor in his past life xD
the "giant steps" at the end is just delightfull
you are amazing Charles!
CHALLENGE: Create a bass line that you can begin playing left handed and end playing right handed. And then challenge Davie504 to play it.
This is genius
@@mikey8247 I think it would be cool to see him do this, but I doubt he'll see the challenge :-)
He already did, its his background song,. Its called break out blues.
@@benjamingutierrez2191 I just watched his video of that song, and on the video I watched he plays the entire song right handed. Is there a video of him playing it both right handed and left handed?? What I meant in the challenge was flipping the bass around so that his fretting hand and picking hand are reversed and the E string is at the bottom. The challenge was to play part of a bass line as a left handed bass player and then in the middle, flip the bass and keep playing like a right handed bass player. Has he already done a challenge like that? If so, is there a video?
@@VogonPoet67 no he hasnt, and my bad. I thought you were talking about starting with the left hand to play.
"That 4/4 is messing me up" 😂
Damn man... Jokes apart, You are insane. You take bass to another level. That jazz impro was perfect.
That joy on your face as you FINALLY reach the next level!
Another great bass player bites the dust.
He's not only damn good on bass, he's also a gifted comedian ...
Man, I LOVE your jazz lines! I grew up with my dad playing his Selmer tenor sax with his Blue Note records on his Heathkit "HiFi". More please.
Your videos make me smile each time...
There probably is actual players out there that focus so much on prog signatures that simple songs throw them off lol
I know you are joking but...that song always packs the dance floor! 😊
I've never even THOUGHT about playing bass, but I still love these videos
Love the humor, you sound amazing
Davie = SLAPP
Charles = TAP

That's a very interesting newspaper article and all, but I wonder what is happening with the Chinese moose infrastructure?
Brilliant !!! Made my day
Great job learning this one Charles!
I wonder how Davie503’s article went from Ed Sheehan playing bass to Chinese moose exportation.
We’ve also discovered that China is investing heavily in moose infrastructure and is becoming a key competitor in the shared global market of moose. 🧐
Ohhhh damn... I was waiting another amazing video playing on one of the best bass rifss ever writed!!! Easy riff, so difficult to compose such a thing that is known for almost everybody with the just three first notes!!
Your skills are mad dude. Keep up the GREAT work!
2:05 It's been a while since we've heard anything from Davie503.
The fact is, that everybody in the world, knows this. Challenge to you, try to reach the same!
That baseline is so iconic, I could hear it even from just the sheet. And I can not even read sheet music, only tabs. ;-)
Watching you cheer for yourself and cry tears of joy over your own success was what I really needed today
Well done, someone has finally done it.
I'm pretty sure your level is now out of reach for anyone from now on.
Redo this as the new ones.
wow. 1000% spot on.
That giant steps improvisation at the end 🙌
Wow. Keep up the great work!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
For some reason, i thought this was a JoJo reference
Let me clue you into an eternal truth, young man: Just because you can play something a great musician plays, doesn't make you a great musician. Sure, those notes are easy for you to play. **But someone else played them first.**
That newspaper killed me!
The pinnacle of virtuoso musicianship!
Nobody:
Trump: "The Chinese government has invested heavily in moose infrastructure over the past decade"
John Deacon is an underestimated Bassist imo.
I am honestly surprised how funny this video actually is. I think I have a weird sense of humor, I genuinely laughed.
Soooooo well done!
Can you also play some Henrik Linder of Dirty Loops bass-line/solo/slap?
who's with me? 😁
👇
yes please!!!!
notice this charles!
Man, you are amazing!!! Thanks for playing, humour and all that stuff. Hello from Russia)))
Oh this reminds me of the scene in The Wise Man's Fear when Kvothe plays in the Eolian :)
I was low key expecting you to make the song super intricate
This gentleman's technique and musicality is top of the class/world. And on - bass! 😀
Simple, yet effective!
Was expecting an expert version of Bites the Dust, not an IMPOSSIBLE one!! WoW!!!
Genius!!!
charles you are a beast on bass
First song I played when learning bass, brings back good memories and night terrors
So proud of myself for recognizing Giant Steps at the end without the head.
With bass- if it grooves, it moves!
I literally read that entire Newspaper article. LOL
The slow motion effect got me 😂
Insane man. Have you been using a time machine to make it look that easy? Incredible!
i was expecting an extremely complex arrangement of another one bites the dust but this is good too
eat your cereal
Such pure unadulterated joy
I just started to learn to play and practicing to a metronome since rhythm is so important. 4/4ths feels like the hardest thing on earth so I can relate :) I hope it gets easier with time
Charles is in another whole level.
After seeing the evolution of this series, this was HILARIOUS! 😂
